Don't let people rent trucks that are not at the location we go to to pick the truck up from. I rented a 10 foot truck and received a 26 ft truck. It was very inconvenient. And the appliance dolly I rented didn't have tracks on it to make it easier to go up the stairs which is why I got it to begin with.Catherine A.

I accidentally locked the one and only key in the truck after using key to check the final mileage reading. Return location did find someone to open the door after I had returned the truck. Truck return locations should have master keys.EugeneW M.

We went to pickup the truck. The person there acted like they had no clue about a reservation for the truck being made. He could barely speak English. He called someone and they said they didn't have a truck for us. Then we called a uhaul call center and got lost trying to find the place where they had a truck. Wasted more gas running around the city. On a time crunch. When we finally got there the woman said she couldn't change the reservation so we had to call the call center back and be put on hold again. Very frustrating. They wouldn't even give us a discount for all of our trouble and wasted gas.Timothy H.

I am not sure why I had to take over 20 miles away instead of being able to take literally 10 15 minutes from new home. Also was charged extra when I already paid to take it to Johnson City when I rented vehicle. This I want discussed and a call back.Melissa P.

The clerk was extremely discourteous. The website says checking in online is optional. When we arrived she said we had to return home and fill in the form online. After we did that we returned to the clerk and we had to wait 20 minutes while she made a telephone call. The truck wasn't pulled out to be ready for us. U-haul should do away with this location. It is dirty and the service is terrible.Donald S.
Our pickup was 8:30 AM by time we finally got finished and received rental equipment, it was close to 10:30 AM. The hired moving guys were to be at location for 10 AM. We did online check in which was a hassle. First of all location seemed shady and were hesitant to even follow through with truck pick up. We attempted to call the 800 ph number to change locations but were put on hold for prolonged period of time, in fact drove to Starbucks for coffee, waited in line and still on hold. Tried chat -no response, finally just hung up. Went back to 912 west market and continued with online check in, receiving wrong insructions. Truck key was to be in lock box at back of truck. After searching several minutes for lock box we discovered there was none, even though I received lock box code. Once again we called 800 number, put on hold for long time. Simultaneously we used another phone to call a different uhaul location to ask where to find key. Finally got through to 800 number and was told to pick up key from gas station attendant next to truck parking area. I did this, then had to go through process of confirmation with attendant even though I just finished on line check in. She gave me the key, I left to go back to house only to find on arrival the furniture and utility trollies I paid for were not in truck like the instructions said they would be. I called 800 number again, on hold for another lengthy time, before agent said that would not be a problem just go back to W. Market to pick up the missing equipment. We just finished safely maneuvering the 26 ft truck down narrow residential street, making tight corners, and calculated 6 point turn into driveway. So we decided to go back to location with a car, which required moving truck out of driveway and repeating process. Back at W. Market, I explained equipment was already paid for, the attendant said since we already picked up truck, I needed to go to different location to redo contract. â€œYou have got to be kidding meâ€. Hearing my displeasure, the attendant made a call to uhaul to verify and said I would receive email approval. Because of my prolonged call wait times to uhaul, my phone battery ran low so was left in truck to charge, therefore, no way to check email. The attendant reluctantly lent me her phone. Of course to check my email a security code was texted to my phone which I didn't have. Finally after another call by attendant, I got my equipment. Once at the house, the movers I hired through Uhaul list of hired labor did not show up.Peggy P.

This U Haul dealership; turns out it was built into the corpse of an old gas station that was so dead even the plastic bags over the pump handles were mostly decomposed. Two bearded old men were sitting right outside on the removed backseat of a van, one was wearing unmatching hospital scrubs. My boyfriend and I exchanged concerned glances but he went to the window were a couple that looked to be in their 80s stared vacantly back at him. He told them he had reserved a U-Haul and they both said they didn't know how to do the paperwork and needed to call their boss, soon they were on the phone with a woman sporting an Indian accent thick as tapioca. She explained the process but they didn't have the normal U-Haul paperwork so they wrote everything out on a postit note with a Bic pen which he then signed. The U-Haul itself was fine. After we arrived at our destination we found the email they sent explaining the return process, we had requested the return site be a U-Haul dealership that is literally two miles away but they had instead scheduled us to take it to a different location on the other side of town. Attached to the email was a copy of the official U-Haul paperwork they had failed to find; they had taken the liberty of filling it in for us complete with his forged signature. Don't use this sketchy white trash facility.Russell J.

Incredibly unprofessional; didn't get my truck until an hour after scheduled because an employee "wasn't out of bed yet". My entire move was delayed by an hour because of uhaul. Also, I ordered mats to be with the truck. They had none and told me to drive 20 mins in the opposite direction to go get some. I may never use uhaul again.Maxwell L.

Had to stand in the driveway at the location for 10 minutes before getting help. The we ordered 2 dozen blankets and the got the blankets out of a trailer in the parking lot and threw them in the parking lot on the ground in a pile unfolded and told us there are your blankets. They gave us the worst truck of there fleet with a ramp that didn't function properly had trouble extending the ramp all the way out and hooking on the tailgate.Richard S.
The location is horrible! The clerk is behind glass and speaks very low. Not only was it hard to hear him, he couldn't understand me. I pointed out our name on the list but he still did not understand what I was saying. Check in took way too long. We lost a half hour of time trying to get the checked in. This location does not have the resources to run their own business as well as satisfy the needs of U-Haul customers. There was garbage in the truck from the last customer. The attendant was very nice but she needed help.Garrett J.

Every person I talked to did their best to help. The only problem I had is the phone system the company has sucks. I had to make several calls in order to find a line that did not crackle an drop words of the person trying to help me. It made the process slow. The amazing gentleman in Johnson City was having problems with your communication system to and was trying diligently to prevent me knowing this. But he still saved the day. Thanks Fred.fred B.
The truck I rented was not clean. It smelled of smoke and there was dirt everywhere. I had to stand 25 minutes in a cold convenience store parking lot because there was another customer. The store proprietor, who I was friendly and kind and I think was doing his best, completed my transaction on his cell phone. Nothing about the transaction inspired confidence except the friendly store manager. I would likely rent from the main store next time.THOMAS L.

The Uhaul store in Bristol, TN did not have the truck I reserved online so sent me to this gas station in Johnson City which is 25 miles away. When I arrived, Circle A Market told me they did not have a 15' truck reserved for me. A supervisor had to be called in. Had to wait for the supervisor to arrive. Supervisor told me that the truck was on site but had to be received into inventory before she could rent it to me. In the end, the truck I requested for 9am wasn't available until 1130am, throwing me 2.5 hrs behind schedule.Earl S.
The person I worked with to pick up my moving van had no idea how to perform her duties. She had to call the manager/owner(?) to complete the process. This meant that I couldn't ask any questions or speak directly with anyone about my rental at the time I was renting the van. I was not allowed to park my car at the U-Haul location. The original location that I was directed to (Mounter Motor, 200 Waters St) was a closed business and vacant lot. I attempted to call the main Uhaul phone number buy I could not get anyone on the phone. Your curtesy and professionalism needs serious work. You need to understand the contracts well enough to answer basic questions like what am I signing for. I kept asking for clarification and the lady just looked at me and said do you want the trailer or not? I Just want to know How much I was being charged. Anyway, lesson learned, use official U-Haul sites, not the â€œneighborhood sitesâ€OsÃ©ias B.

The reps at this location didn't know the equipment well and were nearly clueless on setting up the rental and checking in the vehicle. They nearly charged me for the wrong rental, and would have if I hadn't caught the mistake. They also said I'd receive a receipt via email but I had to call to get the receipt. I was on hold for nearly 20 minutes when I called UHaul's 800 number. I also tried the online chat and no one ever showed up on UHaul's end. Piss poor and unacceptable customer service!!!Craig K.

When we arrived, the cashier couldn't locate the online reservation, told us the wrong amount for the deposit, and was rude to boot. We ended up having to take our Uhaul back to the original location instead of the location that was literally down the street because of the cashier's error. What was supposed to be a simple process ended up being a 45 minute ordeal. Moving is stressful enough and this situation put a damper on the entire day. If I end up renting a truck from Uhaul again, it definitely won't be at this location.Jonathan S.
I chose to do mobile pickup because they said that all I would have to do was get the key. I paid for my rental & everyhing on my phone. When I got to the window the man wouldn't give me my key because he said he had to call uhaul & they had to confirm that I was supposed to get a key. I then waited 30 minutes for a person from uhaul to answer! I was on a time schedule & because he was late meeting me & had to â€œwait for uhaulâ€ I didn't make it in time to drop the uhaul off before they closed & got charged an after hours fee. I will never rent a uhaul from that store again. It was inconvenient and he was rude!!Gaybreala M.

It does not seem like the location operator knew how to hook up the trailer and she did not give any information on how to load it. There was no pre-tow inspection of my vehicle like the website stated would happen. Lastly, the interior of the truck had a thin layer of dried mud and a bit of paper scrap. The staff at this location was awesome. I am so glad they were open on a Sunday for drop off. There was a drop off location much closer to my son's new apartment, but they were closed on Sunday and had a large gate that was locked around their property. I did not feel comfortable leaving the truck blocking the gate so I searched online for a different location.Tim G.

We were misquoted twice and we were was told directly , twice, that the trailer we rented had a winch equipped. That costed us the amount it would of taken to pay for someone else to pick it up instead of two of us spending a full day doing it but oh well everyone was nice and the equipment was in good shape.Laura J.

From prior reviews I went to this location expecting to hook up the trailer myself. Expectation fulfilled. The attendant was a little old lady who was a clerk for the convenient mart / gas station / liquor store. Because she had no U-Haul terminal she had to call someone to complete the transaction. All in all, I was prepared for the less than standard U-Haul facility, but if I hadn't been, I would have been very upset.FRANK G.
