there was no water in the window washer reserve, windows were very dirty, AC was not working on 90 degree plus day, brake pedal very narrow and easy to slip off of someone should check on each truck before it goes out to correct and maintain these items for the safety of the public as well as your own liabiity these are constructive comments not meant to be demeaning.Peter R.

Location was fairly easy to get to but the lock box key area was infested with spider webs and spiders - definitively needs some attention. The truck was fairly clean but the AC blew hot air no matter what setting it was on ... it was 105 degrees yesterday while I was using the truck so that was fun - thanks a bunch!! I will definitively not be renting from U-Haul again!Zoran C.
I was rented a truck that had multiple maintenance errors, for example service air bag, service tire monitor system etc. The truck itself was filthy, I also had erroneous charges on my account, which included a $3.75 charge by the uhaul pick up location. When I called the pick-up location Cervones to address this issue I received no call back. Poughkeepsie NY U-Haul called the wrong person with a similar name to confirm a 20 foot truck and car tow reservation. Since this person was the wrong person they cancelled my reservation. I by coincidence stopped by to reconfirm my reservation and pick up moving products when I discovered it was cancelled! I needed to move out in 2 days! The staff called the Regional Director in New York area. That person found another 20 foot truck in Standfordville 20 miles away and a car tow in Beacon 13 miles that was 33 miles verses the 3 miles in Poughkeepsie! No one from U-Haul as a courtsey could pickup and deliver for me the truck and tow to Poughkeepsie to save me miles and time for their mistake. Standfordville NY U-Haul is where I needed to pickup the 20 foot truck. It seems that the U-Haul team is inefficient. Knowing that I was embarking upon a 3000 mile road trip they did not check the road worthiness of the truck. They did not check to the tire pressure or the condition of the tires which exploded and de-laminated about 906 miles into the trip! They were not helpful in assisting to contact U-Haul roadside emergency when our rear inner tire exploded and de-laminated. They hung up. U-Haul Emergency Road Assistance is a Joke!. You get a recorded voice telling to you to send an Email request for assistance. This would lead to faster assistance! First of all this country does not have internet service in every corner of the country. Not everyone has a $1000 plus cell that one can email from. Thank God a wonderful patient gentleman by the name Dave answered the phone. He sent a roadside gentleman to replace the tire. He also, checked the condition of all the other tires and added or reduced the pressure where needed. He advised driving carefully due to the misalignment of the front wheels. Beacon NY U-Haul were generally friendly. They made sure we got a car tow after an accidental cancellation of our reservation. Unfortunately, no one explained how to enter into vehicle once loaded onto car tow. Nor did they not hook up the backup lights. The gentleman who changed our tires informed us how to flip down the side fender to get into the towed car. He hooked up the back up lights. Next time I must hire a U-Haul vehicle, I will bring along an auto repair service person to check the vehicle. If you don't you take your life in your hands.Karen F.

I make reservations to pick up the truck at 6:00 am. And that person never send me the code to open the lock , so i have to call more the 10 times. If course it's to hourly and no body answer the phone, finally at 6:30 somebody answer the phone and the guy have to come to handle the keys, so i got late to work!! Than when i returned the truck they charged the insurance fee, witch i NEVER requested, and i told the person, why i have to pay for something , that i don't agree??? He said he had to call u-haul people and let me know if i can get my money back for the insurance, never call me and when i check my statement, i have the charge already for the full amount, It's really no cool. Throw out your online reservation system. I started out at home with the reservation. Couldn't get through it. Crashed four times, made me start over, wouldn't let me choose a pick up time. I gave up. Then I got an email confirming a pick up time of 7 a.m. I wanted 9 a.m. The day of, I arrived 15 minutes early to use the check in system. It found no reservation for me. I tried again, logging in as I had, it then found my reservation under another name. At this point I went back home to get out of the cold, as I was in a parking lot and the office didnt open for another 40 minutes. I called from home, talked to one rep, who then transferred me to a specialist. We were making progress when she got locked out of the system and suggested we start over. She said I had to be near the truck, so I drove back over. We started again I signed in and the system found my reservation under my name. We continued with the process until the system crashed again. By this time the office had opened (early) and he took over checking me in.on the office system. He had trouble too. I finally got the truck 1 hour and 20 minutes afyer the (wrong) pick up time. The office also had trouble checking the rental back in. He said it's a common occurrence. I'd have been better going to Home Depot and renting their van. Much easier.Kevin E.
