Quickest and easiest rental experience I've had with U-Haul. Nicest truck too. Highly recommend and will be using them for any future needs.

Paul HUnprofessional!! I'm 5ft 3in and 62 years old and they made me try to put that heavy 6x12 trailer on my hitch by myself. When I tried it my whole lower back popped real hard and I blacked out momentarily and had to hold on to my vehicle as not to fall down. And no one was there. When I went back in to ask for help I got an attitude from the big 6ft buff man behind the counter. He finally came out to help but all he did was sit it in the ball and told me to hook everything up. There isn't even anyone there to do the contract. He had to call someone and then put me on the phone and I could barely understand him or hear him for all the people in the background. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. On the other hand the place I dropped it off at was very polite and professional and even waited a few minutes past closing for me to arrive.
Sharyl GThe people were incredibly friendly but the trailer was in terrible condition. There were no safety chains, neither front nor rear. I had to scavenge one off the tongue just to have once safety chain. Thankfully I had some threaded heavy duty carabiners in my truck to attach the safety chain to the trailer. Also, one of the tires was at 80 psi and another one at 35 psi. Again, I traveled with a pump to correct it. The 35 psi tire was missing a valve stem cover so I stopped to purchase one, thinking it could be leaking from the stem. It was Sunday afternoon, no other locations were open, I had driven 6 hours to get there and had to travel 6 hours home with my van that broken down. Uhaul will hopefully refund a portion of my money. And the day before my rental, I was told by one rep at the J. Clyde location in Newport News, VA the trailer I had reserved was broken and then another rep stated it was actually because the prior reservation had extended...just a really bad experience all around.
Fred MThe engine light was on an the tag didn't match. I couldn't check nothing off an the owner wasn't there in person we had to talk over the phone. The cashiers were confused an didn't know what was going on.
Bridget SWorst experience I have had with U-Haul. Smelled gas the entire time which means it cost me more out of pocket to put gas in. Inside of the trailer bottom was covered in sand and not cleaned out. The steering wheel was turned sideways in order to drive straight. The battery died on me and I had to get jumped. Also the check engine light came appeared on my way to drop the truck off. Overall horrible experience.

Elizabeth DFor starters, U-Haul scheduled my pickup for a location that was closed on Saturdays. U-Haul said they were going to credit me $50 for the inconvenience but was not taken off at the time of being charged. Had to drive 30 more minutes out of my way to pick up at a different location. Got in truck and had literally 0 miles to empty in fuel. Store did not want to put gas in and told me to bring it back with quarter of tank, which cost me right at $100, and they would credit me the fuel charge back. They credit me $14.. On top of that, there was broken glass and red dirt all across the inside the back of the truck. We had to clean it before loading our belongings inside. Horrible experience.

The person in charge of the UHaul operation wasn't on location, so I had to give them all the information I had already filled out over the phone, which made it near impossible to understand them. Took 15min just to get them on the phone to start the process, wasn't even able to get on the road until an hour later.

I stared out online and the U-Haul representative sent me to a place that was not even omen on the day I needed the truck and I had to place more calls to find a source. I will use another rental truck company in the future.
Dwight FI had a chain hanging and not secured properly I found out when I re-rented it at drop off at Ozark, AR. I also had to go to a TSC store for the part they didn't have for sale for my hitch.

carl eThe truck we got had issues after only going 2 and a half miles up the road!!! 2 check engines lights came on and an alarm was going off and truck wouldn't go. Had to call roadside service and they said nothing was wrong after waiting an hour on them. The truck done the same thing 5 more times before I made it back to drop it off cause we couldn't use it!!!!! U-Haul would not give me but $50 back out of $214 and I drove it less than 20 miles and never go to haul anything!!!!

Luis MUmmm.....everything.completly under stocked.the trailer wasn’t the adjustable ball lock.had to make 2 extra trips.300 miles.2 different trucks,then had to go to the store and buy a ball that would fit.already past my time limit then had to drive another 100 mile round trip to return it by 9pm.comple waste of a day and $200ish dollars of fuel and $50 for a ball that would fit because there were none at this location.the wiring harness dosent fit anything other than a uhaul truck and that’s a safety hazard on you’re part.very dangerous.ill probably never use your services again.i spent to much time and money today.
Tim Tthe only problem I had with the rental was that when I took the truck it only had 1/4 tank of gas. When I got back, I was charged an additional $52.00 for extra gas. The claim was that there was a 1/2 a tank when I took it. I really don't think that is ethically fair to not indicate on the rental that the gad needed to be checked and returned as taken. I wanted to simply take it to the pump and put extra gas into it but was not allowed. What I was charged for was a re-fuel of $52.00. Not Fair! It would be honestly fair of U-Haul to refund my $52. 00.. Pleaser let me know you decision. You have my credit card information, to credit me back . Thank You Kindly LeRoy Grismer 704-975-7156
leroy gThe gas tank was completely empty, no dolly available, cashier was not knowledgeable about anything when questions were being asked. Also, I was charged an extra 66.60 for gas in addition to the $90.00 I had to put in.
Shatina SI won't say it was clean. It wasn't dirty either. The truck was just okay. It drove pretty hard, but maybe that is how they run.

SCHADWICH MThe pickup location owner was wanting to charge me almost three times what I was quoted, he told me one price to charge me and then turned around told his cashier another price to charge me, the cashier said if the owner said one thing and told me something else just call uhaul and find out what I'm supposed to charge so I did and I showed the email to the cashier and the cashier was very nice and said that is what I'm charging then two days plus tax.

MARTHA NFirst off the guy never even applied that we left with the vehicle, get to South Dakota and got harassed being told the vehicle was reported stolen because of the stores mishap. I almost went to jail after spending 1200$ on a truck that was reported stolen. If I wouldn't have saved my PayPal confirmation I would have went to jail after giving uhaul 1200$. I will not recomend anyone to go to uhaul at brianas at all.
Phillip MThe clerk literally expressed his disdain for having uhaul trucks immediately. HE checked me in late, despite my prompt arrival. The location is at a gas station. I literally filled out at the location's gas station and STILL got charged for gas. I inquired as to the charges and he told me he couldn't help and hung up the phone on me.
PAUL CFirst off I had to wait 25 minutes to get the truck, this is a store and he kept taking other customers ahead of me even though I was waiting. The guy told me that the same truck was reserved for two different people but since I got there first I could have it. When I was finally able to get the truck it had a car hauler attached and the guy working did not know how to unhook it. Of course it was raining so I had to go out the rain and unhook the car hauler, but he did open the door and ask if I was ok.

Marty MI wish your company was more respectful of the customers time and money. This lady was professional. Not everyone in your company is. You abuse your situation, where you know you are the most popular business for moving and can treat customers as you please. Without thinking that most of us, customers, are going through a change and that in itself is traumatic. Instead of behaving like bullies and laughing at the customers, you ought to be kinder and respectful. Sometimes I feel as if you went to a prison and did your hiring. Don't you have Human Resources, or a inspector that could check on your awful service? And what about those disgusting locations, where I think I am not going to make it alive? With the prices you charge you should be able to provide a clean and professional service, in EVERY location!!
