Tires questionable, ratcheting mechanism were rusted. I had to kick them free. Pretty crappy servicing by U-Haul. This has nothing to do with the pickup location. They were great.
TRAVIS MThe vehicle had an alignment issue but the bigger concern was the exhaust leak. There were no other trucks in the entire state so I had no choice. I had to buy noise canceling earbuds to make the 12 hour trip tolerable. I'd like someone to call me about this.
Brinton RTold Duane the truck needed to go in for repairs immediately. It's evident that the truck has had serious mechanical issues and we had to suffer through an 1,800 mile roadtrip with them. If U-HAUL doesn't fix this, you're screwing over any other customers who have the misfortune of renting this truck. However, Duane was quick to process our return and very nice.
Melanie MThis is the second time we have reserved a uhaul for Spearfish SD and ended up driving more than 50 miles to a different location. I am super disappointed in the uhaul system and how it works. It really makes me angry, that we dont get any kind of discount on this or the last trip, We drove 100+ miles this time to pick up what was supposed to be 2 miles away. The previous trip 2 yrs ago we drove to New Castle Wyoming to pick up the dolly. This is super u except able....
Amy VIt was frustrating when we were telling them we didn't do the damage to the truck but they had to write it up under us since it wasn't previously documented. They were doing their job but it sucked for us since we were innocent.

JOE KWe explained to the drop-off location the issues we experienced with the truck, front-end alignment, brakes and wiper blades. Hopefully, the truck with be thoroughly inspected and/or repaired before someone else rents it!!!
connie tReimburse me for the horrible experience of lack of service and lack of urgency and lack of timely response and $200 for me paying upstanding town folk that helped during this crisis plus $130 for the hotel. I should also note I had to pay the 3 unloading $450 tips since I didn't arrive on my scheduled day Friday June 30 while they were waiting. To get them to come back on Saturday July first.

Arturo CVery disappointed with gentleman that wouldn't help me this time. Had 2 large trucks and 2 trailers to return. Dropped 2 trailers on a Friday night after hours. No problem there. But Saturday as we unloaded trucks just a block down the street into our storage he refused first truck. Said I had to take it to another location. But he was expecting my 2nd truck when we got it empty. Finally found 2nd location to drop off first truck. Went back to unload 2nd truck and get it to Ace Hardware before 4. Got there about 3:45 and he informed me he wasn't taking that truck either. He had 2 others coming in that night and I had to take my truck to the 2nd location as well. This is our 3rd trip moving out west. September 2022 we had 2 trucks and 2 trailers and March 2023 we had same. Those two times we dealt with a very nice young lady at the Ace Hardware. Guess she's not there anymore. Definitely won't be doing business at this establishment again.

erick cI've rented numerous trucks through UHaul and this was the worst quality of equipment I've ever had. While the customer service was fine, the quality of the truck was subpar. Even though there were many dents on the vehicle itself, the worst was the Muffler. Had this been an across town move, it would not have been an issue. But we drove this truck from South Dakota to Orlando, FL, in one of the noisiest cabs ever. Not sure if the muffler was loose or just bad, but very disappointed in UHaul this time.
TIM SStaff was great and very helpful. Trailer was in rough condition and it had a tire blow out 30 miles from pick up.
Alan EUnderstand that you have only so many miles to get to you destination. I thought I had unlimited miles so I went 356 miles more than allowed to see a family member.

Nancy HHave more trucks/vans available, so that when someone reserves a truck A MONTH IN ADVANCE, it is there and in ready condition. Plus, the truck was old- crank windows(!) and no cruise control. Also, my aunt said that they just gave her the key and did not walk her out or show her anything about the truck.

mari mThe customer service went above and beyond in being helpful to secure a trailer during the South Dakota bike rally. This young lady was pleasant and curtious and in this day in age as a consumer you don't find that quality of customer service.

DANNY BI was told I could drop off anywhere in Fargo, this turned out to be false. Seems the people who hand out and pick up are not allowed of have any knowledge in how whole system works. Very poorly run company, I will never use again or recommend anyone to use.

KATHY RWith a confirmed reservation and request to pick up my rentals at the Rapid City, Deadwood location, I got sent 15 miles further to Box Elder, SD. i had to wait well over 1 hour for the staff to process my order confirmation. After that i received no help loading my car onto a transport and the lot guy parked the box truck and carrier in a location unsuitable to load my car. So i had to jockey around to get this done. Fortunately I'm quite resourceful and could manage this myself, one other may have experienced difficulty. They were polite but very unorganized. I felt sorry for the people in line behind me.
Bob GI reserved it a month before rental and I didn't get my preferred pickup location. Instead, I was notified the day before that it had changed.

JENNIFER DYour computer system needs a complete overhaul. I reserved a trailer with my credit card to be picked up at Deadwood Ave in Rapid City SD then 24 hours prior to pick up were sent to Ellsworth Air Base as they didn't have any available. The gentleman didn't have any of the information so had to be inputted again. The 5X8 trailer we rented should have never been given to us as it didn't have a locking pin to keep the tightening knob in place. Reserved a storage unit at my destination but when I called 24 hours prior to reconfirm was sent to another location. The only nice people (Becky, Dallas & Sharon) I talked to we're at my final destination at the corner of Main & Lindsey in Mesa AZ, they truly know what customer service is all about. Please give them a raise.

Emily MBe more up front on prices and stop the over charging like 30 bucks for being a 1/3 of a gallon short of a 1/4 of a tank of fuel or charging 30 bucks to just sweep out the back end of a 10ft truck that takes two seconds!! For an internet rental truck for two days costed $159.00 and at the time I picked up the truck I was only told and quoted $29.00 bucks roughly a day as well as going over on milage you guys raped me definitely raped me there on price.. I don't think I'll ever rent one of your trucks again cause there rigged to eat gas let alone I swear the mileage is rigged as well
BRANDON EThese employees were great people. I had to drive 15 miles to a different location to pick up another item I was renting. U-Haul needs to be more accommodating and deliver this 15 miles away so the customer doesn't have to do a bunch of driving around. This is a U-Haul problem not the problem with the people renting the equipment
TOMMY MI'm sorry I didn't get his name, but the guy who handled the paperwork was great. I asked to change to a larger trailer and luckily he had one available. He took care of it promptly and professionally. I expect that, but don't see that in other businesses as I should.
RICHARD VRental Location was not the location I originally selected. Luckily, i checked my reservation before going to pick up the trailer only to find it the location had changed. This is something that should be have been brought to my attention as soon as the original location could not support me and my reservation moved to another location.

HAROLD NTell the truth. I booked a month ahead in Dickinson ND. I told 24 hours before pick up that I needed to go Rapid City ( a four hour drive) to pick up mY truck. I am single so that would have been impossible for me. I would have had leave my car and drive truck instead. Luckily my daughter was able to help. No clue there was a problem. 24 hours to figure this out. Attitude of Uhaul. Indifference.
