The 15 foot truck I rented was in bad shape. The box was leaking water since it was raining. It was also dirty. There was so much exterior damage to the truck as well, crushed top of box corner, busted headlight and just overall so much wear and tear. It felt like a dilapidated truck.

TWYLANA HARRISONDuring the check in process either advise the customer that they’ll need approval before picking up or complete the approval process during the online check in. I had to wait 15min in order for uhaul to approval my rental after having to re enter dl # anlone with other information and take pics of front and back of dl after getting to the location for pickup. It was a waste of time after having to do all this during check in online.
Lake WinzerAside from having a difficult time understanding the guy, this location was fine. My biggest concerns have to do with U-Haul as a company. The app is a joke and needs some serious work to be functional. I attempted to use it when checking in but it was taking forever and ultimately had to check-in inside at the location. Furthermore, it was advertised that the app can be used to check the truck in upon returning it after hours, but neither the app nor the U-Haul website were functioning. After spending 20-30 minutes trying to get them to work, I finally had to give up and go home, thus resulting in a $20 charge for not checking in the truck.

When I arrived he told me he didn’t have any of the equipment I had ordered with my U-Haul, when I got in the truck it was filthy and the tank was already on E and since I picked the truck up in the middle of the city, it’s very hard to get gas in a city with a giant U-Haul. Billy FulmerThe van was very dirty; spills, sticky goo, dirty unswept cargo area. There were multiple service lights flashing the entire time: Service Stabilitrak, Change Engine Oil Soon, Service Traction Control and Check Engine light. When I got on the freeway going 50 mph, the van shuddered at highway speeds. So I was forced to take the back roads all the way back from my destination. I told the clerk upon returning the van and he told me it had just returned from being serviced. REALLY?

TWYLANA HARRISONThe van only had 15k miles on it and most service lights were on. Check Engine, Oil Change, ABS, etc. Not related to the location, the mobile checkin process is one of the worst experiences out there. Very cumbersome, didn't work half the time, unclear directions. It needs a lot of improvement.

Amando RodriguezThe truck was leaking fluid as I started driving. Then the truck started running hot and going slow. I called the place where I picked up the truck and ask if the truck was serviced and was told that it had been a few days ago. I told him the problems I was having with the truck. If I didn’t have my male cousin with me, I believed things would have been a lot worse because he looked and videos what the problem was under the hood of the truck. He is an ex mechanic. I was barely able to get the truck back location.

ANTONIA GAINESNo customer service whatsoever you just have to stand in parking lot and figure it out. The vehicle I had needed an oil change and rear tire needed air these were permanent lights on dash the entire time. The windshield wipers did not work which made it incredibly hard to see during nigh time while it’s raining there was also a crack in the windshield unsure if that contributed to windshield wipers not clearing the water but I know it’s incredibly dangerous to drive with a cracked windshield. Other than those maintenance issues and customer service issues I made it back fine in one piece but I’d be hesitant of this location it’s pretty much self serve and inspect vehicle thoroughly before leaving with it so you don’t end up on the side of the road with a cargo full of boxes. Completely unacceptable

Maria ColungaTruck was dirty inside the cabin and in the back hauling space. Air conditioning did not work This is Texas!! It was 100 degrees on the days I rented and I almost passed out from the heat while driving. Truck did not feel safe at higher speeds. There were newer trucks available but they gave me an old one with 150,000 miles on it. Did not have enough moving pads available even though a reserved them weeks ago.

It was over a 100 degrees in Texas-the day of the rental in my opinion this truck should not have been an option. The use of this vehicle made it very uncomfortable during my move. I have used uhaul several times in the past and have always received working equipment . I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with this rental experience to the point that I will consider other options for future moves. How you can make it better for other customers? Never knowingly send out a truck without a working air conditioner on extremely hot days.

Anthony VillaniThe owner/ neighborhood rep was incredibly rude and patronizing. He nearly yelled at me when I called him to ask if my truck would be available by my pick up time. My online quote was $45. When I got to the location, it was $68. Nothing had changed. He didn't explain that if I dropped off after hours, there would be an extra $20 charge. When I went back and asked him, he said, "everyone knows that" Do not recall having to pay extra the last time I rented a truck and dropped off the truck after hours... I actually ended up turning it in way ahead of schedule. He took the keys and waved for me to get out of his presence, not bothering to check me out or give me any details of the impending additional charges He would tack on. Got my email receipt and it was for $105! It's truly incredible that I received no explanation that I should expect this amount when I booked the truck under the impression my local move would cost me $45. This location is terrible. The guy who seemed to be the owner of this dinky convenience store is so rude and cannot be bothered. He should not be in any role that interacts with other humans, what a slime ball.
Maria ZahosThe reservation was made at a 4-5 STAR and safer neighborhood location, for a reason. UHaul changed the pickup location to a severely sketchy area. As soon as I pulled up, a man was urinating right beside the UHaul Store @2240 Irving Blvd. Dallas,Texas — I arrive @7:33am to pickup a reservation that was booked over a month before pickup date. It was booked online reserving a well maintenanced truck, 1 furniture dolly, 3 dollies, shrinkwrap and other. I arrive and they only had the truck. No other moving supplies that I reserved. The truck bed was dirty and not swept out. I had to figure out last minute to get dollies elsewhere. After my family loaded my home goods onto the truck, I literally drove an exact, (0.8 miles) from home and the engine light came on. The engine temperature gauge also moved very quickly to HOT. I immediately pulled over and parked truck. My family member checked and noticed radiator fluid was coming out. We called AND text roadside assistance. From the time frame of the truck breaking down, waiting on phone for roadside assistance to help us, roadside assistance completion on repair….it was a total of at least 2.5 hours possibly closer to 3 hours total before we could get back on the road to unload the truck. — If not had it been for UHaul negligence my move would have gone smooth with my family members being inconvenienced by having to wait around for 3 hours and doing this in sweltering heat. It was a small one bedroom apartment move that ended up taking from 9:30am start load time through 7:00pm by the time I returned the truck to the same location it was picked up from. I have learned through this experience to not use UHaul ever again. I’ll pay another truck service or hire a moving company. I want a full refund. It was a nightmare experience. Again, I want a full refund. Please have a Supervisor review this customer experience rating and contact me right away. Thanks.
Wendy BishopDO NOT RENT HERE!!!! These people are scammers and will make up mileage and fuel levels in order to tack on additional charges to your bill. I drove less than 10 miles in the truck I rented and they are alleging I drove 82. After driving the truck 4.6 miles the low fuel light came on and they are alleging that the fuel was at 1/4 of a tank. I'm reporting this business to the Federal Trade Commission, The Better Busineas Bureau, and have submitted reports with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and the office Texas Attorney General for moving truck fraud and scams. This is the worst experience I have ever had. If these are the kind of lowlifes that UHaul partners with them you may consider taking it a step further and boycotting the brand.
