My overall experience with U-Haul was terrible. If it wasn't for a representative of yours in Arizona who contacted the Wyoming county supervisor here in New York of U-Haul who verified that there was a truck on the day that I needed it which was July 31, I wouldn't have had a truck at all. I was shuttled around 5 to 6 times various days after I was canceled twice for a reserved reservation that I had made two weeks prior and was told that there wasn't any availability of a truck for my move on the 31st. I was told in the Friday evening one day before, that I was cancelled for the second time. Prior to that, on that Monday I was cancelled, and the told Wednesday that I had DEFINITELY CONFIRMED reservation for Saturday. I cancelled a reservation with Penske on that Wednesday because you confirmed I would have a truck! I would've had to pay an extra months rent to stay one day after the 31st and caused me great anxiety and stress. I am a 68-year-old woman that has heart issues and blood sugar issues. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was not transfered to one when I asked repeatedly but merely shuttled from representative to representative varying from state to state. When Coco from Arizona call the U-Haul district supervisor in New York's Wyoming County fair Warsaw New York pick up point, he verified Friday night that Saturday morning the truck was available. But no one prior to that even called me to let me know that, they said I would have to pick up the truck on a Sunday a day later. I was able to get The truck and only because a dear friend of mine went out of her way to call around and finally got Coco to help me. But the people that I try talking with would not transfer me to a supervisor they said that they were unable to do so and then I would just have to keep calling until I got somebody. This is no way to do business. You either honor your commitment to confirm a reservation and keep it or you don't and if you don't you're not a company that I want to use. You knew that there would be probably a glut of people asking for trucks and you did not make plans to accommodate and compensate for that. This is poor management at its very worst. I made my reservation on July 14. There was no mention at the time when I did it online that there would be any problems with my date. I assumed that your company was reliable and trustworthy. I will never use U-Haul again. I am requesting compensation for the pain and suffering your company caused me.Susan R.

I would not have rented a Uhaul if I had to provide the name and phone numbers of two people, but i dint know this until i was picking up the Uhaul. I live alone and travel alone so providing you two names and numbers does nothing, but give you unnecessary contact information. Also, the online registration process was tedious with 20 different things to say or no to like do you need boxes, do you need a person to help move, do you need storage, etc. Steamline the process and allow people to only answer the basics and if they want more let them choose more, but dont make everyone click no for a bunch of stuff they dont need. The online return did not work on my iPhone because when I clicked on the camera to take a picture my camera would not work with your online portal. It would have been easy if I could have attached a picture, but instead you want the online Uhaul portal to control my phone and some how that didn't work. Keep processes simple and sometimes less is more!!!Rick W.

The ramp on the U Haul would not come out, looked like it had been damaged by previous renter of it. The brakes were soft and would not stop unless pushed many times very dangerous when going down hill. We had to hire extra people to load the U-Haul because the ramp would not release and come out, which cost us more money. We were completely unhappy with the U-Haul we rented and felt we should have been refunded some of the money we paid to rent it.William E.

This is a new U-Haul provider. I ordered 2 dozen pads when I made my reservation. This location didn't have any furniture pads. Nobody contacted me to tell me this. When I went to pickup the rental I was told. So last minute I had to find blankets and quilts from my home to use as padding. A business should have the supplies or the customer be informed when making the reservation. Very disappointing.Deborah Z.

The mobile app process did not go well. The initial rental agreement, the pick-up and and drop-off processes required multiple attempts to get them to work. At pick-up and drop-off, the contractor had to complete the process for me. This will discourage me from using it again in the future.Mary E.
