The truck wasn't very clean. My reservation was changed to a location 10 miles from my home. I was told that my rental would be adjusted if I returned the truck on Sunday (from weekly rental to daily in-town rental). My rental was checked in 2 1/2 hours after we returned it. And no adjustments were made to my rental. Very disappointing. Would not rent from U-Haul again nor would I recommend them.TERRENCE A.

UHAUL SUCKS! They canceled my truck 10 minutes BEFORE I WAS Supposed to pick it up because the person who had it before me NEEDED IT LONGER! So THERE IS NO POINT TO MAKE A RESERVATION BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GUARANTEED!!!!! So I had to search around on MOVING DAY for a fucking little trailer to move! Then they charged me $20 for being 10 minutes late! They are a joke don't use them.Brittany K.

The van we rented was dirty and hadn't been washed in some time, plus the windshield was completely covered in bugs. The cargo area was dirty and was not vacuumed. The process to get verified and check out took way too much time. Waited awhile to get the code to the lock so we could get the key to the van. A lady came out to inform us that the app was down. This was not a good experience using U-Haul.Perla S.

I was helped with trailer and electrical hookup, however there was one light on the trailer inoperable after testing. Instead of checking the bulb or connection, I was told to simply advise any officer that the lights worked when I last checked them. Then proceed on to my destination. I don't think this was good service and certainly left me to proceed with a clear violation. And unsafe.Paul M.

My pick up location got changed the day before the rental to this location 45 minutes away from where I wanted to be. I was on a tight timeline and that was really bad. This will definitely impact whether I use U-Haul again in the future.Matthew B.

Do not advertise discounts without the intent to follow through. I was induced to use Uhaul's services at 150 Woodview Dr, Elgin, IL 60120 with the promise of a 10% military discount. I was told by the front desk that it would appear on my invoice. When I received my invoice, not only was the discount missing, but I was inappropriately charged additional fees for allegedly not bringing the rental truck back with enough fuel. This brings me to my next point. Rather than placing the burden on the customer, Uhaul should make it a practice to take a photo of the fuel tank upon a rented vehicle's pickup and dropoff. I am 100% positive that I returned the rental vehicle with the agreed-upon amount of fuel, but Uhaul claims otherwise. I neglected to take a photo when I dropped the vehicle off and Uhaul has no photo to evidence the accusation, so it's my word against theirs. A Uhaul rep told me that they merely annotate in their computer system where the tank is without documenting supporting proof. As a result, I was charged an unconscionable amount in punitive fees. I was referred by the Uhaul front desk to handle this matter with the "trucking department," where I spoke to a rude woman who made me feel like I was SOL for not taking a photo of the fuel tank. She also told me that there is no military discount. So, she basically could do nothing to help. She did not empathize with my circumstances at all. Now I have no choice but to dispute the fuel fees with my credit card company. Because such a simple process can be implemented with little to no burden on Uhaul's part, a progressive change is strongly desired. As a customer, I feel deceived and ripped off. I did not experience this issue with Budget Truck Rental, who actually honored the advertised military discount and did not falsely accuse me of breaching the agreement. For a company with such a reputable name, I expected more from Uhaul.EDWARD W.

I did mobile check in and was assigned a truck which I couldn't locate. I went inside the store and nobody was wearing a mask. They were also rude. They asked me to submit all info again like credit card/ ID and details of trip, which I had completed online prior. This prolonged my exposure with no masks people. When I finally got my truck, they did not even clean the snow of front and even windshield. Truck was poor condition with lots of noise through the drive. Not recommended.PREYANSHU P.

Facility didn't have the furniture dollies I had pre-ordered and suggested that I go to the Streamwood location to pick them up. Most customers aren't going to want to drive a 26' truck around to pick up parts and pieces that should have been ready at check-out.Craig D.

Too far away. Uhaul waits until its too late for customers to get a truck from another company to tell you your pick up is a half hour (or more) away. Not acceptable. Uhaul customer service (ha!!) told me my â€œreservationâ€ only guarantees me a truck SOMEWHERE, and that if I didn't make a reservation I wouldn't get a truck at all.Implied I should consider myself lucky. Do they realize I am a paying customer, and their business depends on me getting what I need? Don't think so. Wont use uhaul again.Jeffrey S.
