Alabama Tire arranged with Tatom for pickup but representative was not there. He delayed loading the U-Boxes onto the trailer for delivery by several hours. This also happened the first time we shipped U-Boxes to Alabama Tire in Feb. Alabama Tire did not close this order when the U-Boxes were returned, resulting in two months of storage charges. Fortunately, UHaul corporate resolved the overcharges the same day I notified them.DAVID W.

Containers arrived 6/10/2020 and were picked up 6/15/2020 with zero notice, apparantly her heads up text didn't go through. We were all running around, myself the real estate agent and the U Haul driver as well as her helper during thunder, lightening and pouring rain in hopes of getting the rest of my things put in the container. Then when I arrived to my destination and go to get my things there is no available trailer that day and i was told my containers were not available and they quite honestly wasn't sure where they were at ! Fast forward Four months later I recently discovered U HAUL has been taking just under 90.00 a month for the past Three months Oct, Nov and Dec. I've had nothing to do with U HAUL for the past five months other than trying to get mu money back for rent rent they charge me for months I things were not even in their possession.. Rent a truck and keep your things with you, i personally would never do this again, moreover I am not one to publicly go out of my way to write a bad review as I love posting great reviews, but U HAUL e-mailed me and asked to to write one so here you GO !vicki L.

Most of the people I actually spoke to were nice and wanted to help because they could see what a disaster the entire U-Box experience for me had become. I thought I was working with an honest company. But, you ads that you can deliver anywhere, but you can't. You have hidden fees like a delivery fee that aren't disclosed until after the fact. Your quotes on shipping are misleading because mine doubled. When a customer calls to get answers the nice customer service people listen and tell you that they will start a claim and have a manager call but the manager never does. I expected more from Uhaul. You need to take a lesson from PODS be transparent include all fees and quote an all inclusive guaranted price. I will never recommend or use Uhaul again as long as there's an alternative.Bryan C.

The first location had an assist device to get the trailer on the truck, the Alabama location did not. The owner informed me UHAULs statement was that a lady can take in and remove these trailers no problem. That's a lie!!!! He was so nice and helped me but UHAUL needs to provide the appropriate tools for the job and safety in my opinion. If this would have been after hours it would have been bad.Jessica C.

Make sure the dollys that are requested are actually provided in the truck. The dolly's that I requested were not provided and I was STILL charged for it. Next time please make sure that all requested equipment is actually provided in the truck.Dana S.

The location pick up and drop off was fine, but the U-haul system was very frustrating. First of all rate was advertised to be about $40 per day. By the time i finished the paperwork it was $165. Why? I reserved the truck three days before i was to pick up the truck and when i drove to pick it up said i was re-routed to another location but the truck was out front, very frustrated. after several minutes and aggravation i was allowed to pick at the reserve location. When the guy printed out the paperwork the price had increased to $197. Why?I had the truck less than 24 hours. I called supervisor, Chad Baker, but he never called me back. I had to take it because i had movers coming. I had set up to drop off the truck about one mile from my destination, then i received a text message and they had re-routed me to another drop off location about 10 miles away. I called the place above and they said they would take it. Overall my experience with the u-haul system was very poor. I will look for someone else next time. MikeMIKE W.

My U-HAUL was over an hour late and they almost gave it away to someone else. My husband showed up on time and no one was there until an hour later. One someone showed up, they tried to say we didn't have a reservation. My husband pulled it up on his phone and showed them. They almost gave our truck to someone else after having to drive an HOUR to get it. That put us behind schedule by two hours. Then we get the U-Haul and realize they didn't give us the appliance dolly that we PAID for. I will never be using U-HAUL again.Matthew S.

It would be helpful to have more locations able to deliver 4 boxes at a time. Someone had to drive 3 hours to bring them to us initially, and when we picked them up we had to drive 45 minutes one way and we needed 3 trailer hauls to get them to our home due to only having one double trailer at that location.Linda C.

Mr Johnson was very nice and helpful. Your local retailers are great. Your customer service during a problem was unacceptable. Your roadside assistance was a joke and treated us terribly. We were put in danger, our belongings were missing and despite spending close to $800 for truck/trailer/and insurance, our move was a disaster and we were out of pocket an additional 600 due to the negligence of your company. We had to pay for a bigger truck than we reserved, go to a location much farther than we reserved, and didn't get the equipment we reserved. When I had brought it to his attention, he refused to give us the $50 that you are supposed to get if they mess up your reservation according to their policy.Ciara G.

Trailer or Car Transporter was unsafe! Could only drive 45mph due to swerving all over the road! Think trailer needs Ball Bearings and other maintenance! Tire strap winder was Rusty very badly! And the right rear tail light was blown as well! I didn't feel comfortable and safe at all, and I feel cheated out of my money!! This is not fair to a loyal customer that I am!! Took too long to pick up and the trailer was dirty, it had not been cleaned and there is a leak from the floor of the trailer so my stuff got wet from the bottom. The equipment was not checked/serviced before I picked it upVINCENT M.

I explained my situation and was accommodated, but left thinking there may have been a better solution. I paid for two days in order to assure myself of getting the day I needed, but was not offered a one way trip from there back to here which may have been a little cheaper. So I drug the trailer across 2 states. One way empty and then back full. It would have been nice to have been offered a site along the way or even over there and at least driven one way not towing. What is cheaper? Two days bringing it back to the same location, or one day with one way charges? I don't know.....BOBBY D.
Very chaotic. Trailer hitch very rusted. Had to clean off and use wd40 to get hitch mount to move to allow putting on truck. Back door sticks have way up and has to be attempted several time to get all the way up.John S.

I was told when I reserved the trailer that if we turned it in at the Vestavia Hills location I would receive a $10 discount, the total price would be $25. I did not pay attention and the guy at Snead charged me $35.71. This was pointed out at Vestavia Hills and they said it was the guy in Snead that charged me.sibyl P.
