In the last two weeks I needed a 9 ft cargo van for a few hours and a 10 foot truck for two days. Both times, Jacob was the person who helped me at the desk. He provided prompt and professional customer service and managed to make me laugh despite a super stressful move going on. This is best rental experience I've ever had with a U-Haul rental, and I would recommend Affordable Storage as a place to rent from every time! Thanks for the great experience!JESSICA D.

Make sure renters know how to operate the lights and instrument panels before they drive the truck I did not understand that lights on the outside upper box and inside box lights stayed on for one-half hour after turning off the truck. Uhaul web site and response was slow and problematic. Returning the unit clean, full and Undamaged proved to be far simpler than trying to do the blinking return procedure via this site, the web site or even the hour long wait on the phone. Sadly, I'll need to do this again in the near futureGARRETT DEAN D.

Three main issues: (1) had to sweep out the bay of the truck. Not terrible, but it was clear it wasn't done before I rented it. (2) was supposed to have the rental fee waived, it wasn't and for some reason a refund was never issued. (3) the truck did not have a full fuel tank and I was told that I needed to fill it. Drive a total of less than four miles and paid for someone else's fuel. When I brought this to the attention of the employee, they simply told me they didn't know what to do about it. I rented a van to haul a grill but it didnt fit so i basically wasted my money. The uhaul website said the interior height of the van was over 6 inches taller than the grill. But the back door opening is WAY smaller than the dimensions given. That's terribly misleading. Please report the minimum and maximum heights so people arent ending up in the same position.Brian A.

The new system taking a photo to upload the odometer online, prior to dropping off keys in box. It's a hassle and I feel it gives a reason to wrongfully charge customers extra. Isn't enough that we fill up the tank and return the vehicle!?DARIUS J.

I had originally made my reservation on 10/22/20 for a cargo van located at 9640 Evergreen Wy, Everett WA 98204 for 10/24/20. I called that location directly on 10/24/20 at 1131a to inquire as to why I'm seeing a cancelation notice online. Deep informed me that he gave my van to someone else b/c he called me many times and I didn't answer (he did not). I told him I reserved it and it is mine, whether I come in at all. Our conversation got heated and I had to hang up on him. I phoned C/S and the nice gal arranged for another van and issued a $50 credit for the reservation guarantee. The incident with Deep was disturbing. Why did he feel he could reissue my van? I was promised that his Field Rep would hear about my unpleasant encounter with this agent of U-Haul. There are too many others out there that would like to have his job so I suggest he is required to take customer service and policy courses before allowing him to deal with the public and represent U-Haul. I will use your services again, the two women that I dealt with after Deep were very professional, reassuring my opinion of U-Haul. I hate to go to the extent to say that Deep probably released my van to a male. My name is definitely of female gender. I'm just sayin.Shelly J.
My driver went to do the afterhours pickup and was told he could not be verified. I understand the vehicles are independently owned by the storage facility. This is after I spent countless hours with the reservation managers and reservation agents from Uhaul over the week making sure the van could be picked up after hours without hiccups. These people assured me everything would be fine (5 calls) and even gave me alternate phone numbers in case there was an issue. Had I known my driver would not be able to pickup after office hours at this location, I would have had him pickup from a more convenient location in Snohomish during the day in which he would have had to arrange time off of his primary job (which we were trying to avoid). Then when my driver went to pick up the van in person the next day so he could be verified (losing 12 hours of moving time which then included rescheduling other helpers) he was told there were 4 other reservations for the same van, he was lucky that he was the first in the office. When I found out my driver had to be verified (8:30pm), all the night reservation manager for Uhaul could tell me is that there was nothing Uhaul could do; it was up to the discretion of the truck owners (storage facility) to verify renters and drivers. If I had been informed of the possibility of my driver not being able to do the 24/7 pickup after hours, again I would have rented from a more convenient facility which did not offer 24/7 pickup. All Uhaul has to do is tell their reservation agents to let the customer know this is a possibility. No, they wait until you are there, trying to pick up the vehicle and are prevented from it and told to come back when that facility is open. The night manager from Uhaul I spoke with simply told me it wasn't up to Uhaul to verify and no one apologized for the huge inconvenience (I had to arrange for someone to take my driver to pick up the vehicle originally and thankfully they stayed to take my driver back to home and then did it again the next morning). I had a previous experience with Penske earlier in the summer and it was flawless.Nolan S.

I booked my reservation online at a location hear my home. That location didn't have my rental. They asked me to go to another location nearby that would. I traveled there and they did not have my rental. They had to rebook to a location nearby. It took 3 locations to finally confirm my 9' foot van. When I returned it, I had the WORST service I've ever experienced renting any vehicle. This was incredibly poor service and operations throughout. I was very disappointed in this service and when I tried to explain my disappointment, I was told the storage company has nothing to do with UHaul. I did not receive the size truck I ordered nor was I able to pick it up at the time I reserved. The truck we did get had dog hair, cigarette smell, food packaging and a used face mask! Disgusting. Horrible and stressful experience. I will never use UHaul again.Jason M.

Given COVID realities I opted for the mobile pickup thinking I wouldn't have to interact with anyone. The mobile pickup wanted a bunch of stuff I wasn't expecting which was annoying, given that it was actually using up my rental period. Also, after taking a picture of my ID and opting out of insurance on the app, I still had to give my license and sign a form when getting the keys. Also, no idea if the truck was disinfected before my rental, probably want to leave a note in there if that did actually happen.Brennan D.
Service at the time of pickup was good. Definitely make sure to check the mileage before and after. If you can, take pictures before and after. I calculated my miles so I could stay within my budget. I went 13.4 miles and got charged for 51 miles. I did dispute the charge and was still charged for 51 miles. Not sure who handles checking the miles on these vehicles, but something definitely is wrong.Latanya V.
