A few things - when I made the reservation on the 14th of September I made it for the location on Arizona Ave in Chandler. A day or two before my pickup they call and tell me they don't have a truck that size there and I have to go to one almost in Goodyear (about a 35 or 40 minute drive away. They should have either let me know that there wouldn't be one there or figured out how to get one there. Then I go to pick it up at the new location which is inside of an Ace hardware. There are about three people working there on a Saturday and they're trying to get out about two or three rentals WHILE also ringing up all the people waiting in line with regular purchases. They didn't have the dolly I had already paid for in the reservation, and they had to go find moving blankets. It was like they had no prep for the reservation until I was there.Steven A.

I reserved a 26' truck at another location and when I went to pick it up was told they did not have one and should have been contacted by U-Haul to be told where it was available. (I received a text shortly afterwards telling me where the truck was available.) The manager called the Camelback location and found the truck but no furniture blankets were available. I went to that location to pick up the truck. There was something wrong with the truck so I had to settle for a 20' truck. It worked ok but I had to make 2 trips as opposed to 1 to haul household goods from our home to storage which resulted in higher mileage fees. Then when I went to return the truck just a few minutes after 5:00pm the day before it was due back I was told the check in desk closed at 5:00pm even though the location closed at 7:00pm so I had to use a very uncustomer-friendly online return process.Brian A.

When I question my bill for the extra charges they gave me on fuel the girl said she was going to hit got an attitude and said she was going to get hit me with a late charge on a 24-hour charge truck that was brought back way before the time that expired it seems if you question anything with them they get extremely rudeTHIERRY H.

When I arrive to pick up my truck they told me the previous renter had not returned it they refused to contact U-Haul to find me another location and another when I was about to leave they realize the customer had dropped the keys in the Dropbox and the truck was actually there after I took it upon myself contact U-Haul. Very unprofessional and rude. Will NEVER use them again.MICHAEL B.

We asked for a truck for 24 hours. We picked it up at around noon . On Saturday and were surprised to get a phone call on Sunday morning asking us if the truck was going to be back by 8:45 AM needless to say it put a damper on our moving situation they said it didn't matter they needed the truck back because it was reserved for somebody else that day . Their customer service is horrible. . So we did return the truck back by 9 AM and they did not give us any credit .RALPH M.

Maintain vehicles make sure when renting out your fuel level is accurate make sure it's been serviced since my oil light came on when traveling to my destination don't charge for things not asked foradrian E.
The check in experience was terrible, we reserved a 26 foot truck, utility dolly, appliance dolly and 3 dozen carpets. We were told they had the dollys but no carpets, but when we got home there was no equipment in the truck (every time I've ever ordered a uhaul, the additional equipment has been in the truck). When we were done checking in we were told we had to go out and find the truck. The truck was filthy, my husband waisted an hour cleaning the cab, the windows and we had to sweep out the cargo compartment before we could load it. The windshield wipers were useless and we did encounter rain. But despite all this, the truck did drive quite well.DANIEL H.

The first truck they tried to put me in had a dirty container and smelled of smoke. The previous person probably used it to transport a fire pit as there were ashes on the bottom. It was not swept out or anything. One of the employees (an older skinny guy) tried to tell the girl helping me that "we are just a third party vendor, we do not need to justify ourselves to him". As I left the store another customer remarked that the employee did not need to be that rude to me. So this interaction affected 2 customers in a negative way. On my return I noticed that I was charged for a $30 truck when my reservation showed a $20 truck. This took a call and was straitened out and refunded after a quick call to a Mr Tennyson. This review was negative toward the store but all in all I am happy with my rental.AARON W.

Customer service was horrible. Only one checker and she was helping one customer with a uhaul. She was also checking out customers with items. We were asked to go stand to the side until the other customer got their uhaul. The checker rung up about 10 people before finishing with the other uhaul customer. The other uhaul customer was there first but had to wait while the checker rung up multiple people. We stood there for about 20 minutes before we were helped and then we had to complete the entire uhaul process again, even though I did all of it online before coming in. There were no paper receipts which is not okay because that's a lot of information that is needed on paper. Nobody showed us to the uhaul. We had to go find our uhaul ourselves. Then there was nails, screws, and trash in the uhaul we got. The drop off process was completed on my phone and said it would email me a receipt. I never got the email. Then my credit card was charged twice for the same price even though the receipt said it would be way less. I am very disappointed and will not come back here again.Henry D.

The so called kid manager was extremely rude, did not want to hear an explanation. I'm not understanding if an employee walks the truck to inspect it when it gets returned on why it's not inspected when it's picked up. 1st rude issue, we get to the location at 7:59am I looked up the hours it said that location opened at 8am. He, the so called manager Manny! IA standing at the entrance chitchating with a girl, they are laughing & talking while they clearly see us waiting. They don't bother to even acknowledge us & continue to talk. Once they fill as if it's time he opens the door @ 8:05 & does not even bother to apologize & only said you still have to wait until I get the fork lift out, rolls his eyes & continues on. I go to check out, with the also kids girl, they both have horrible costumes service & you could clearly tell they are only showing up for a paycheck & that isn't even good enough for them clearly to she such poor service, the least they should be able to offer is decent enough service if nothing else. I recommend someone that actually cares for this company to acknowledge & do something because this is ridiculous! The girl tells me that that were going to change me an additional fee because we returned the u-haul with less gas & proceeded to show her a recipe from right across the street at the same time that we picked up the u-haul, trying to show that the truck was close to empty & we even got concerned enough to just drive it across the street to the O-K & add $15.00 to it because I was concerned that it would run out of gas before even getting a block away. We drove 19 miles one way & 19 miles back for a total of & I was charged for over 50 miles & they charged me saying that we returned it with less gas then when we got it & of course that was not accurate! I tried explaining & show my recipe showing that I literally had to gas up as soon as we drove out of there lot because I was concerned that we would not even make it to the corner. He did not want to hear anything at all, didn't even allow me to explain my self & just said okay then I'll just put a hold on this & you file a claim. I was like 1st of all this is no way to treat a costumer & he just continued to look at his tablet or phone. I work in costumers service & let me tell you this location is far away from offering the minimum of that, I think I would have been okay with at least mediocre service at least!! 0 ðŸŒŸ & hopefully someone actually cares enough to look in to this & hopefully ether provides training or gets qualified staff to provide proper service! I will never return to this location, it was my 1st time getting a u-haul at this location because it is very close to my house but definitely will be my last even if I have to drive to a farther one.MARIA S.

There was a very serious problem with the trailer brakes they would engage violently and then release in a almost chattering feel unless i was almost coasting to a stop. with the trailer loaded i could not back it a inclined driveway without the brakes locking up. It could have created a very dangerous situation in a emergency stop and I had to carry a very heavy concrete fountain into my back yard because i could not back up the trailer because of the brakes.REED C.
Called multiple times to be put on infinit hold and excuse was they had customers. Individual didn't come out until after I decided to hook up the trailer myself. Did not receive a text for checking trailer back in after hours and when I called customer service they were rude and said I just have to call the next day as if the trailer is stolen it was my responsibility. I had a terrible experience renting a Uhaul trailer from the Ace Hardware location listed above. The employees at this location were extremely rude and unhelpful, especially when it came time to return my trailer to the same location. Firstly, the associates at Ace Hardware were extremely rude and unhelpful when trying to pick up my U-Haul rental. Upon walking into the store, there was no sign in that directs a customer to the appropriate desk and when I asked, they acted like I was bothering them. After discussing the rental details and my info with the cashier, she says they do not offer dollies or furniture pads AT ALL (it said they did on the website when submitting my reservation) AND they needed to place a hold for 100 miles on my card and the unused miles would be refunded after returning the rental. What is that? Why?! Had they followed up via email or call about the dollies or milage, it would've been helpful in my next point.... After I inevitably was "forced" into purchasing a dolly from Ace Hardware (due to urgency and necessity), they tell me that I cannot return it after using it. What really tipped me off was when it came out to be more expensive than the price tag displayed and both the cashier and the shift supervisor were unbothered and lazy the entire time. Additionally, the van I rented had a ton of dog hair, rocks, and dirt inside. The van wasn't even cleaned before it was returned by the previous renter! I only needed 30 miles and now I have to wait for the charge to be lifted from my account after the lazy supervisor went outside to confirm how many I actually used! Reserved a uhaul at an Ace Hardware. After them giving me the keys and I get into the truck, the check engine light was on. The truck was dirty inside and out. I informed Ace Hardware rep of this and she told me there's nothing she could do and they aren't responsible. She went on to say I could chance driving it or not. She didn't even offer me another option. She said their just a third party and to call Uhaul directly. Which I did. Uhaul said it was Ace Hardware responsibility to provide a good running truck. Uhaul then advised the Ace Hardware had 2 van's available. I agreed to rent one of those. The van was dirty inside and out. It smelled like someone had smoked a carton of cigarettes in there. The windshield was so filthy I could barely see out of it. When I came back the next day to return the van, they had charged my cc about $67 more than they should have. I told the same rep this and again she was of no help. She stated she can't do anything about it, she's just a teenager and Ace Hardware is just the middle man. She said call Uhaul. This was the worst experience I've ever had with renting a Uhaul. I'll never use that Ace Hardware location for Uhaul rental again.LASHINA W.

I was not notified by the pickup location that the equipment I was given a quote for 2 weeks ,and later, 2 days prior, would not be available. I learned about it when I went in to pick up the truck. It was not easy to rent at the customer service and returning was a nightmare I had a van for a few hours it stated I had it for like five days are used my credit card to rent it but told him I'm here's my other card I want to put it on this one that didn't happen it took a little over half an hour just to clear up the mess of oh I Donely had it for four hours I would never go to this location again I would not recommend this location and those people have time to waste if you want to stand around in a hot buildingNIKOL T.

Just upset at the fact I brought the gas where I got it fr the fact that I didn't take a picture they weren't much help or nice about it charging me basically a full tank I paid 35 dollars of gas 22.50 they charged me and I put my own 12 dollars I wasted so basically that's a full tank almost when I got it way less than 3/8 I should have took a picture but it is what it is not going to sit there and argue.CORINA S.

Employee training on mobile pickup. I stood very patiently in line instead of off to the side of the counter, waited 10 minutes for the employee to call the manager to figure out that he was just supposed to just give me the key so I could be on my way. I could not get an employee to help hook up the trailer, I had to wait 30 minuets or more to check out the trailer while other customers were helped to check out merchandise. I was given the wrong trailer, when I had it fixed I was not given a new contract or receipt to show what I was charged. Employees in the store were not friendly and did not seem to have adequate training in the UHaul process. The trailer jack was broken and road side assistance had to come out to replace it, which caused a 4 hour delay in my move.DANIEL B.

I was intially issue a truck with a disgusting black floor. Switched out the truck. The individual in charge of U-haul rentals was clearly green!!! I stayed completely in the vecinty was charged 66 miles. Clearly went no more than 25 miles. I didn't have in me to dispute. The Uhaul process is ass backward!! I rent trucks a few times a week and this was the absolute worst service. Often why I see it easier to go with Penske rental. One word training and beyond disappointed how things where handled. Training and Ace Hardware not the ideal location. Been in business v4 years for myself and worst Uhaul service ever!!!DONALD C.
We were able to rent a truck quickly because there was a no show for a reservation. However, the truck did not have gas so we had to stop and get gas twice. We were given a generous credit, but I do think that we still paid more than we should have. Staff was really nice. Myhusband and I really like the Service at this store.BRENDA M.
