The location was fine. There was a problem with the online reservation, though, and there wasn't a truck of the size we wanted. They gave us a bigger one at no extra cost--except the insurance was higher. Driving a truck bigger than we'd counted on was a challenge, so that part was not good. Look into what happened on my trip! It has to be somewhere that the back two wheels fell off the truck on the highway! Then the real fiasco started when I waited for 4 hours on the side of the hwy! Then it got even more crazy because the 1st person from roadside assistance was an incompetent fool! It was a 10 hour ordeal that was a nightmare!DAWAYNE J.

The back of the truck was nothing short of disgusting when I picked it up, broken glass everywhere, mud and construction debris, not like a small bit of mud. About half of a contracted bag worth, almost like it was a demo crew hauling off a job. And if that wasn't enough, a leaking bottle of personal lubricant. I called two different numbers looks for another truck and they gave me locations far from where I was moving. And one lady just kept putting me on hold. I spent around an hour cleaning the truck out and then the parking lot because of how much debris came out. Guy at the counter was a nice fellow and was very professional, guess I should have inspected the truck prior. I took pictures, but don't think I can attach the here.BRUCE L.

I have need been treated so poorly as a female. I was talked down to and treated like I didn't have a brain. There was a man with me but I was doing the rental and he also agreed I was treated like a brainless female. I was speaking with my sister after the experience and she had a friend that said the same thing. My drivers license and debt card were tossed on the counter instead of handed back. I was ask 4 times if I understood where to drop the keys. I am a professional and an RN. I would never talk down to anyone in such a way. Had an appointment for 3 but got there at 2:30 and found sign on the door that they were closed until 3:30. I came back at 3:10 and wasn't ready to go until 3:45. The key drop was just outside the door where I had to wait for 20 mins so of course I understood dropping the key in the box after my return. Females are paying consumers as well as men. Treat females with the same respect as the police office you served ahead of us.brenda B.

Got there when they opened and there was a line with only 1 employee working. Called ahead to get information about towing my own trailer and the person told me they had a 4 pin connection, when in reality there is a 4 and 7 pin connection. Also, they did not mention that there is a welded on 2 inch ball with no way to attach a 2 5/16 inch ball. Additionally, the price changed by $20 as I was standing there renting the truck. He took the 20 back off, but when I make a reservation for a price, it shouldn't change while I'm in line renting. There appears to be a much larger rental location just a mile or so away.Michael M.

It wasn't just this location that made my experience poor. I phoned the call center at 11:30, and was told they had a car trailer at your Alcoa location on airport highway, and when I went there they had one in the parking lot, but I was told it was reserved for someone else. I had to go ten miles to your maryville location, and when I got there I found they were on a 90-minute lunch break. The owner was late getting back, and was both rude and slow.William M.

The store hours indicated closing at 6 PM. We confirmed this by calling the main U-Haul Customer service Phone number. No one answered at the store location. We contacted the main customer service phone number again. We were provided through an email, the process for self-service delivery. This location felt unsafe and looked like a storage yard. There weren't any directions or information posted on the door. No instructions for shelf-service. We were uneasy but followed the drop off instructions we received in via email. We would use this location again because self- service proved to be convenient and easy. We live in a rural area and this was our closest option and most convenient.Linda M.

we reserved truck on Chapman hwy. because we live near UT hospital. Truck was available to pick up only in Maryville 16 miles away. BUT on ALCOA HIGHWAY airport motor mile, 2 miles from our house, we pass a UHAUL dealership with plenty of trucks. An entire lot FULL. Feel like we drove across town unnecessarily. Thanks.ASHLEY M.

I was there to pick up a trailer to pack my son's belongings. He died 2 weeks previously and I could barely function. The young man who helped me on the phone was kind and patient. Unfortunately, when I was picking up the trailer, the older, rude man was compelled to yell about putting Hillary Clinton in jail. Please know, there was no talk about any politics going on to provoke this spew. Indeed, there was no conversation at all. I was simply trying to not cry.Raeme P.

Insure that the insides of all vehicles are free from mud, dirt and items left on the floor of them. Mine had a dirty interior (mud on the floor). Wasn't a very big deal but I look for a clean interior every time I rent from U-haul. I will say however that the staff was excellent and very courteous. Very quick and easy pickup and return. Truck was new and drove great (26' box). I used the truck to drive my stuff from storage to my new home which was a short trip, but the cost of the rental was great. I'll be using this service again in two weeks to empty out my last storage unit.Kacper S.
Gas gauge sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Of course when I was filling it up it wouldn't work. After putting $75 in gas in it I pulled out of the gas station and it began working and I had filled it up. I reserved a 10ft and was given a 20ft â€œ for the same priceâ€ however that truck burned way more fuel than I was looking to. GM was RUDE and did absolutely nothing. His excuse was â€œ if I refund you that would come out of my employees payrollâ€, I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again!Austin W.
The 10 foot truck we rented was not in good condition. The one tire had a leak and was going down and the other tire was bald Before we could even load we had to call maintenace to come out.They had to put two new tires on the front. It caused us to be about four hours later than we wanted to be. Also i was charged $23 97 for 56 extra miles i did not drive. I belleive that i should at least get my $23.96 money refunded to my account. Thats the least you could do for the trouble we had.MaryEllen M.
