I was overcharged by approx $80 which I am trying to dispute. I returned it on the same day and the invoice is for 3 days with the additional charges associated. Additionally, when I returned it to the attendant, I asked him if we could inspect it and he said the person who does that wasn't there and wouldn't be around until "later". It also took them 40 mins to get us processed and into the truck. We had it scheduled to pick it up at 9am but they weren't able to get us out until 937am because the person processing me rental was also the gas station cashier and he was more concerned with people shopping in his gas station than getting us out quickly. Lastly, the truck they gave us was blocked in by another truck and cars from the neighboring mechanic's garage. This added a further delay to our getting out on the road. I gave 2 stars because once we had the truck, it did exactly what we needed it to do.Conor G.

The attendant told me the lot was full and I couldn't drop off the vehicle there. I dropped off the vehicle at 3PM, one hour prior to scheduled drop-off, but was charged an extra day fee + insurance. And, now I must wait multiple days for UHaul to remedy the situation while there is a hold on my card. I confirmed with the attendant that the amount of gas was within the required amount to be cleared for return without charge. He told me it was, yet I was still charged.FRANCISCO R.

Hello. When I arrived the attendant told me there was no van available even though I had booked it 2 days ago and received the confirmation from Uhaul. I had to wait an extra 30 mins and then it seemed that magically there was a van availanle. I'm unsure if he was just mistaken or what happened but it was not a smooth pickup.Tiffany T.

Make sure the worker at the place is willing to work with the person who is picking up the vehicle the gas station worker help me out ,,,the other worker did not he had an attitude talkin about he wasn't going to give me the key because he was going home it was a Mexican worker.....ANDRER C.

I made a reservation here Pick up was 4:30pm The guy chose the truck TM 3950 H that have warning ligh on the dashboard I told him no I won't take non risque cuz I need the car about 10 hours I'm not taking any risk He be like it nothing just take it nothing going to happen to the car im a mechanic man. I said no So he took the car in the shop make the ligh go off then give it to me with a fake report about the gaz level 5/8 other than 1/2 Once in the truck I drove off their station less than 1mn the lights came back on then I drove back and he said it's nothing it's just a sensors I said no just switch the truck I won't take any risk for 10hours He call then tell me his boss said no switch If I don't take it that's my business he won't switch it and still going to charge me Now I got received a receipt that said I drove 2mile with 3gallons of gaz and $14 fuel fee that really don't make sens This is a robbery or stealing I really would like to attach the pictures of odometer and the receipt to proof that but no way No senseMamadou K.

I would absolutely NOT recommend this site. The men who were serving me were unpleasant and I feel like I was overcharged for the use of the vehicle. Their customer service is HORRIBLE!!!! WILL NEVER USE THIS LOCATION OR MAYBE EVEN THIS COMPANY AGAIN. ALL THIS STUPID CHARGES ON MY RECEIPTLEONC A.

On 6/4/2021 Time 4:05 pm contract no.96389678 rental location 1st Ave 117th st shell auto service 2276 1st Ave I explained to the service person I needed a Truck at the time 4 pm until 8pm 6/5/2021 the next day he said no problem I thought all was good until I read the contract two hours later notice it states that the Truck should return 6/4/2021 10:15 pm I blew my top when I was the return time and the shop was closed I believe he is deceitful and made a mistake that causes me extra money on my rental because I clearly told him the correct date and time of the rental very disappointed of transaction otherwise all else was ok.EDWARD H.

I didn't feel like my business was appreciated. Owner was not friendly at all. Uhaul service may not be his primary business but it is a source of income. Moving is a stressful process and unfriendly people only make the process more stressful.Christine S.
I was charged 188 dollars for a Uhaul truck that was supposed to have been 15 feet, but they didn't have it when I arrived. So I was stuck with a 10 foot truck and that really slowed down the work we had to do and I was forced to make multiple trips and still did not finish all of the work in time to get to the storage unit before it closed. So I was charged triple what I had expected because the shell station didn't have in stock what they had promised to me. Nice guys working there, but not worth the hassle. They should refund me, but am guessing they won't.Daniel S.

Easy location to access - on First Ave. Just pull in and park truck behind the cones. Had some trouble with digital return - convenience store employee was helpful and accommodating and accepted the return manually.susan K.
Not have a van in a difficult position to get out of like a stack of tires a wall of a building on one side and a parked truck on the other. Have the items ordered in the van ready and really make it a contactless experience. Other than that it was okay.Antoine S.

I was overcharged for insurance when I specifically mentioned I wanted to omit the insurance. when the representative printed the bill out for me to confirm, and I asked him about it, he said he already accidentally put it in and there's no way to take it out. ???? then I reserved a dolly and furniture pads which i needed for my move but the location did not have any. I ended up having to pick them up at a hardware store which was inconvenient for me. They still decided to charge me for it, without taking off the fees for them. I asked him to take off the fees since they don't have them available and they said their system cannot process refunds. Wow.... REALLY POOR EXPERIENCEJames T.

I had to go to this location after the original office I booked at was CLOSED even though the website said location is open and I was able to book there. I had to speak with 4 different UHaul reps and was transfers so many times for a mistake on UHauls end!! I asked if there was anything they could do to fix the problem and the representative hung up on me. I am so unhappy with the whole experience. UHaul FIX THIS.Michael P.

the day prior i received an email with location update and was sent to the wrong pick up address. when i got to the right address (not what the email was instructing) i got to a gas station. the pick up person was serving store / gas clients all the time and i waited for almost 40 minutes before i could pick up the truck. the person who pulled it and gave me the keys was nice to answer my questions. the truck was old, noisy and the passenger door didn't work. the level of fuel was below 3/8. this is ridiculous because the pick up location is a gas station. they could have put fuel in. when we returned it the same person was there to take the key. he told us not to put any more fuel in. then i saw i was charged for after hours service and some unidentified sales item. this service was a joke. would not recommend to anyoneRadostina R.

When I arrived my reservation said I had to check in on my phone which took me through a tedious process that could have been done the night before. Then when I finished everything I was on a wait screen for about 10 minutes and finally once I found an employee was told I had to check in inside where they asked me for the same information that the app asked me. This needs to be clearer because there was much time wasted thinking I could just use the app like the reservation said I could and actually had to. There was garbage left in the vehicle and it was given to us with low air in a tire. When we alerted the employees they told us â€œto put air in itâ€. Upon returning the vehicle I parked and went in to give the keys and he told me to park it somewhere else. When I alerted him that there were cones he told me to just move them-thus he had wanted me to get out, move the cones and get back in to drive through them. Once I moved the cones and began to drive into the area another employee came back out and moved them back to their original spot as I was pulling the vehicle in. The customer service here was very poor and I will not be using this location again.brelaun delores D.

There was no one there to help me get the vehicle and the vehicle I requested was not available. I had to wait an hour and a half at the location before I was able to get access to a vehicle. I will never use this location again and I am shocked and disappointed in U-Haul.William C.

Terrible experience dropping off the U haul. The attendant didn't speak English and he made me park it in a specific way with lots of traffic around. When I got there to pick it up, no U Haul employees were wearing masks at all. Additionally, I went to another location before this because I had reserved a 10' Truck but no such truck was available even though I had reserved it two weeks before.Shuo Y.

The day before I was planned to pickup the U-Haul the pickup location was changed. It was a 15 mile longer pickup to and from where I needed to go, with an additional 2 hour travel time. When I called to ask why it had changed and if at all possible to pickup from the original requested location, the answer was an unhelpful no. In NYC, most people's means of travel is the subway. Traveling to the Chelsea location from the middle of Brooklyn- not awful. Traveling to the Harlem location from the middle of Brooklyn- unreasonably long. When we finally made it to East Harlem, the guy at the counter was rude, unhelpful, and took over 20 minutes to check us in. I've been a customer of U-Haul for over a decade, but I would rather cancel my reservation altogether than go back to East Harlem.Courtney M.
When I went to pick up my truck they sent me to another location because their system was down. The other location could not help me because my reservation was not originally there which that was understandable. I was extremely frustrated that the men at the first location on 117th and 1st sent me there so when I finally went back to the first location they took a whole extra hour to fix their computers and allow me to take my rental. I was suppose to rent it at 1 I didn't leave a my rental until 2. Now when I looked inside the truck is was dirty and I asked the guy and he said he had nothing to do with uhual. The next day I go to return my truck and I asked the guy is there anything else I had to do and he said no I can just leave. I thought I was suppose to get an receipt but he said no. A couple hours after I returned the truck I checked my app and it said it was still in use and that made me so angry because the guy was suppose to Input i had returned the truck and give me a receipt back. Awful experience, we weren't able to check in and drive our truck off the lot until TWO HOURS LATER because the uhaul employee was LATE FOR THEIR SHIFT, and then when they did arrive they were further delayed because they said the lost access to the internet. If that wasn't bad enough the customer experience was rude and they were totally unwilling to offer us anything in order to remediate the situation. We ended up paying so much more money for our hourly movers because of Uhaul. I will never rent a truck from this location again and I would never encourage someone to rent from it either.Joshua W.

The right rear view mirror was broken and not present - the left was relaxed and fixed so it wasn't usable (as in line of sight was the van and not the rear). The van was in poor condition but worked. Guess this is what you get at a gas station in Harlem. The van needs working mirrors for proper safety.Noah H.
