Way more than I needed - very heavy and sturdy but I won't be able to manage it by myself so now that I've used it for our trip I'll probably sell it.

For now I will give it a 4.5 star, had a problem with the screws on the rack. Called Thule and they are sending a new screw. Hopefully,it is just the screw. Customer service was very polite and will arrange for free shipping, if there is a problem with rack itself. Hoping all turns out well. I will keep you posted!

Easy to install. Instructions are clear. Think there should be more straps to hold the bikes in place.

When the Vertex2 is installed on your vehicle, the bottom of the mast will sit approximately 15" from the ground and the top of the mast when in the tilt position will sit approximately 39" from the ground.

Your vehicles hatch will fully open when the Vertex2 is in the tilt position.

Do I need an adapter to fasten a woman's bike?

–BobT 5/9/2014 7:10:46 AM

Our buyer for this product writes: "If your bike has a women's frame without a top tube - then yes, you would need a frame adapter to make the bike work with the Vertex2. If you have a bike that has a top tube, you would be able to directly secure your bike to the Vertex2 without a frame adapter. If you need to order a women's bar adapter, we sell one online for $25.95. Just search for part number 64005."
