Worked just like I hoped. I used this on a 2007 Jeep Compass and although it has a small spoiler at the top of the lift gate, the flexibility of the mount allowed this to work perfectly. I hauled 2 bikes 1200 miles with only small tightening adjustments to the mounting straps at some of the gas fill ups. Most of the time no adjustment was required. I would recommend this to anyone needing a good bike carrier. My only negative comment is the straps that secure the frame of the bike to the carrier. These are a bit too long and did not have much Velcro attachment for my bikes, but I used several bungi cords the tie everything together so all worked well.
