One of the two helpers arrived 30-minutes late. Items were not loaded into the truck efficiently. Unfortunately, one of my items was destroyed due to poor loading. I had a Mitzi glass desk shell that was loaded on its side. This orientation lead to the desk shattering. The item was wrapped in moving blankets and shrink wrap as required by the moving company. The moving company provided info that further supports my claim of the negligence of the loaders. Instead of loading the item upright, they loaded it on its side. Packing Glass Panes Cover glass panes with thin foam packing sheets to protect them from scratches when transporting them. Small panes of glass are typically transported in a cardboard sandwich, offering some protection against breaking. They are also best transported upright, which may limit your transport options. However, be sure to brace the glass. It won’t be very safe if it topples over or is thrown around the back of a van.

We do everything in our power to assure customer satisfaction. Unfortunately we cannot control every facet of every thing on every client's move. We notify clients ahead of time regarding how and why items should be packaged in a specific way and do so again the day of the service, in person if we notice any problems or issues. Client is complaining about a glass desk that was loaded vertically, as is the industry standard when transporting glass and is upset that the desk became broken, which is understandable as we are also upset. No one wants to see items become damaged - not us, not the client, and not MovingHelp. That said, when we inform clients of how and why to safely move items and are then instructed to move items to the contrary - in an unsafe fashion, due to limitations of time or funds on the client's end, we cannot also be expected to assume liability for damages after advising and warning the client of the potential dangers and being instructed to proceed anyway.

I had a terrible experience with these movers. All they did was hired some unknown person from labor ready kind of service and send those folks to my houses. One person was completely high on drugs and could not even stand straight. He was dropping stuff everywhere. When I confronted he claimed things were too heavy. This was a complete rip-off. Also most of the time these movers were spending too much time on the phone. This moving service is a complete waste of money. We felt totally unsafe and uncomfortable original two folks. We finally asked them to leave after 4 hrs. So these guys sent new 2 folks to our house and they were at least sober. This company does not have any set movers they just randomly pick people from labor service and send anybody to your house. Out of 4 only 1 person was good. That person and I loaded everything. In the end it was 10 hr loading job for me. Not worth it.

The two movers broke a bunch of our furniture and scuffed our walls and dented in our floors. I have photos. All they had to do was help with getting stuff down the stairs and into the truck and that resulted in broken desks, chipped furniture legs, dented and scraped table and cabinet tops. They also organized the truck so poorly I had to redo almost all of the work they did while at our house. One of the guys also decided to call it quits at 1230 and not 1245 which was the scheduled end time. I was not supervising them, my wife did. I just got to hear and see the result of their work. All around a pretty poor experience and I don't think I'd contact for assistance again.

We are surprised by this review. We asked the client after the work order was complete how did everything go and we were told ''About as well as things could have gone. Thanks.'' Although I now understand there is an ambiguity to this statement it certainly didn't sound anything less than positive at the time. The client has not reached out to us between the quoted statement I entered above and the review they just left.

Worst mover team I have ever used. They were worn out and tired upon arrival. Complained every piece of furniture was too heavy for them. They stopped work for a break every 20 minutes. Some breaks lasted 15 minutes. They took 3 hours, plus our help to unload. The prior day, the team loaded, with no help nor complaint in just 2 hours. They also slid furniture on brand new floors, scratched floors, dented walls, damaged corners of furniture. Then they wanted to be paid 30 minutes overtime. Then their boss told me all the damage was my fault for allowing them to remove the furniture blankets in the truck as they moved the furniture into the house. I never had any problems with UHaul helpers until this event. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

They were nice and helpful but one mover kept disappearing for 10 mins at a time. They also didn’t put any care into where they put my boxes because they put boxes clearly labeled fragile under heavy items allowing them to be crushed.

I just wanted to tell you, your guys yesterday were OUTSTANDING. They had to move dressers to the 3rd floor with a very tiny stairway and never complained once. I'd recommend them to anyone moving! We paid thousands for our last move, with 6 older adult men and it wasn't a great experience. Those two guys yesterday would have run circles around them. I hired you because I broke my ankle and almost cancelled the move. Your guys saved the day! They even finished unloading a half hour early, which blew my mind. Absolutely recommend this company! They are so reasonable, and their helpers really DID help!

i had to give them a fair rating. they need to let Uhaul know that there they want to reserve a 3 hour window from the time selected. And that caught me off guard. especially since i had to drive 5 hours to drop off the uhaul. even though the truck had items on it already. it was 26 foot truck plenty of room still left. They packed the truck with the items i needed, but they did not listen to me to stack it better to get more items on the truck. now i have to go back to get the rest of the items. as i was watching them. the one was struggling to lift my dressers? they showed up to do the job. thank you. but it was fair.

The communication seemed well the day of, but unfortunately it fell through. The movers were nice but it was clear they had never been trained on how to load a truck; and one of my movers left roughly 2 hours in to our 3 hour timeframe. I can’t blame him, when I moved the truck because a bus couldn’t get around, he was waiving goodbye when I returned. After speaking with my fiancée, I learned he had an email stating it was only 2 hours and even called the company to confirm before leaving. Lastly, one of the movers didn’t have a vehicle, so it was a bit awkward at the end. We needed to return the truck, he needed a ride. He was able to call the company for a ride after we suggested it, but again, this should’ve been communicated prior to the move. Overall, I wouldn’t go with this company again.

I specifically called the client and spoke with them and asked them if the move was complete when one of the movers and the client both reported to me personally that the move was complete and that she was moving her truck around to another area. If clients choose to be nice and take guys home or assist with transportation due to the fact that is February and very cold on the East Coast we are super grateful for that and appreciative. That said, this work order took place in Wilmington Delaware. It's a very small city and there is no reason why the mover could not have found a way to get home, either walking, taking public transportation, calling an uber or a family member. No client is obligated to provide free transportation services to anyone and I don't understand why they would feel like it was akward or a forced situation. As the client noted, we ended up sending an uber for the worker to be extra thoughful given the cold.

Upon acceptance of the job there was a disclosure regarding there would be potentially a 3 hour window of the arrival of the movers based on the time that was booked and I did accept this. I booked 2 movers for 2 hours. The first mover showed up a tad but early for the job and began working, but he was attempting to lift items that needed to be moved by 2 people so I began to assist him. He actually injured himself almost immediately and based on the technique being used and countless scuff marks on the walls it was blatantly obvious this individual was not a professional mover. Eventually the 2nd individual arrived and explained to me the reason for the delay. In my opinion, the 1st individual should not have began the job until the 2nd mover arrived. In addition, the person who was calling me to inform me of the arrival time should have waited until he had an accurate ETA of the entire team. Obviously the job took longer due to the staggered start times.

Note I moved within NYC and didn't realize when I booked that Helping Hands Movers is based in Philly. Their Philly customer experience may be different. Overall, not the best experience I've had with movers. One mover never showed up and it took an hour for a replacement to arrive. When they did load my truck, it was clear they weren't the most experienced - sloppy form when carrying large furniture, a bit careless with boxes, and nobody was managing logistics on the truck so the filling of the truck wasn't nearly as efficient as I've had with other movers. This meant making multiple trips with a half-filled truck, therefore my move took much longer than it needed to. Frustratingly, the longer time meant I had to pay the movers extra for lower quality work. I did appreciate Helping Hands' quickly finding a replacement for the no-show mover, and the movers were pleasant people. Yet unfortunately I can't recommend Helping Hands Movers based on this experience.

On Friday, I scheduled the moving service for a 10am-12pm load & unload with Helping Hands Movers. First they told me they required a 3 hour window to arrive after my requested time and then they told me they couldn't accommodate my time and scheduled me for an evening appointment. I will never use this company again. They broke 1 of my TVs that I had to replace myself. They crack the back of my bedroom dresser. They dented and scratched up my new refrigerator. I spend way more money between paying them who took forever to move my things and replacing my things they broke. Using this company again is a major NO for me.

Client did not have a box on their TV. We expressly advise clients to ensure that their TVs are boxed in order to ensure they arrive in good shape. We don't drive the uhaul from point a to point b and without a box a TV has a much higher likelyhood of becoming damaged.

I hired two movers for two hours and only one person showed up an hour late. He was being paid double for his work, though me and my roommates still helped significantly. After I told him numerous times that I already paid online, he demanded $80 in cash, and I had to call the company to ensure that my payment went through.

I am terribly sorry to hear about this negative experience, Caroline. The contractor in question was spoken by our office both in person during the move and afterwards in regards that asking for cash, whether it be a payment or a tip is not acceptable and that he is only to request the MovingHelp payment code after the work has been completed. If a client wishes to tip due to stellar service we are always very grateful but it is never obligatory and movers are not to ask or request directly to receive payment in any form other than via the MovingHelp payment code.

I highly recommend U-Haul remove this mover company from the available mover list. Don’t hire this company!!! 1) at the time of scheduled appointment, nobody showed up. 2) I had to called the moving company many times past the reserved moving time to request for arrival status. Nobody answers the call. I had to left voice message to request status. 1.5 hrs after the initial reservation time, a guy finally show up. He was called on duty last minute, past my reservation time. 3) I paid for a 2-man crew, but only 1 person showed up. I deserve a refund since I had to move stuff myself as the result. 4) the guy showed up worked very hard. However, consider his age 50+ and the fact that his company refuse to send a second person to help, he almost fainted during the moving process. I had to tell the guy to stop moving, due to my concern on his physical condition. The moving company obvious try to use cheap labor and inhumanly assigned one person on a 2 person job. This is unethical!!!

I booked this company on U-Haul. The movers were called helping hands. The movers that came were good but I am upset with the company as a whole. I paid for 3 hours of work but only received 1 hour of help. The movers came late. They arrived after the arrival Window. I booked 2pm, they didn't come until almost 6pm. I had to extend my truck rental because of this. When the owner was called, they said I could not get a refund. I will be filing a complaint.

The company seemed to have been overbooked as the movers arrived 4.5 hours late, which was still 1.5 hours after their 3-hour window. The movers were very nice, but I could tell they were exhausted after a long day. They ruined a piece of furniture by sliding it, unprotected, top-down down a set of concrete steps. I had planned on getting a new dresser sometime in the future, but I guess it will have to be now.

This seems to be a freelance type of company where the guy who owns it sends people out on jobs based on location. The actual movers themselves were kind and hardworking, but communication with the man running the company who sets everything up was extremely poor and he was rude when interacting. Great workers ran by a not so great guy!

Do not use this company. They have insane terms where they excuse themselves for not being on site at the agreed upon time and will keep you waiting for an hour a half. Their movers, though nice, are not professional and do not know how to properly stack a moving truck. They also take longer than any other movers I've ever used. They also broke several of my pieces of furniture or scratched it uo beyond recognition because they dragged furniture. Do not hire.

As always we are sorry to hear about any dissatisfaction and do our best to make the situation right and to make every client feel comfortable and satisfied with every move. We operate with an arrival window that we require all clients to agree to. Although we are normally able to arrive at the requested arrival time there are circumstances that occur that require us to arrive later than the 'requested arrival time' and we are transparent about that in writing with every client that books our service before we confirm the booking. We do however keep the client informed of our eta and provide them with the information of the mover(s) on the moving day. Whenever damages occur we are always willing to discuss with the client to see what we can do to turn a negative experience into a positive one and we always recommend that every client have their furniture protected with blankets and plastic in order to set the movers up for success and to avoid the possibility of any damages.

Helping Hands moving company was an absolute delight. During the move their boss called me to check in on things. To me it showed concern for the customer and his guys which was a super plus for me. Plus the upbeat vibes boss gave over the phone was awesome. I told him that he sent me two Hercules. These guys were polite, fast, used the equipment I ordered and took very good care of my furniture. One even went as far as telling me he WANTED all the heavy stuff so I wouldn’t have to touch it. I lost it on the inside when he told me that. So I just kept calm and gave a corny smile. When the job was done which was completely satisfactory they went off to a second job. If anyone EVER needs help moving and I mean even little stuff PLEASE!!!!! call them first before anyone else.

You get what you pay for. Their rates are cheap. Their service was poor. Started off well, owner was very communicative in setting up the move. Rest went downhill. Movers called said they were 30 mins away, showed up an hour later. From the start it was clear they had no experience. It took them forever to figure out how to get my full size mattress box spring down the stairs. Mind you I’ve moved 3 king mattresses down those stairs. Then the nightmare started. They made a huge hole in my wall. They apologized and claimed to have insurance. Explained that if I gave them the payment code they would refund the money. The owner text me a few hours later to ask me how the move went. According to him no one told him about the damage and they don’t have insurance. He offered to refund half of the payment because he didn’t think the damage was that bad. Move was only $150.

Any damage on any move is not ideal, and unfortunate. We do our best to make amends for damages by examining pictures that clients submit and issuing a refund. The pictures that the client submitted were limited to extremely minor scratching on a wall that could be repaired via spackling and a small gouge underneath the scratches that would require a small patch. Client was explained the costs of the repairs of the damage and was issued a commensurate refund. We responded immediately to the customer's concerns via text and voice and immediately began the damage review process and speedily contacted the customer to request payment information in order to issue a refund.

The movers were nice. They definitely scratched up my walls and floors and probably the furniture. I was heavy stuff in small quarters but definitely some damage to the apartment. I scheduled my Move on the wrong day and tried to call the owner several times it took a few hours to hear back from him and I had to move it to the next day but he was able to do that.

Great value for the help and lowest minimum around for a small job. If I have very delicate items or more detailed assembly next time, it would be worthwhile to shop around and be pickier about the specific movers. One mover was more careful than the other. But for inexpensive help schlepping cheap furniture and securely packed boxes between rental properties, awesome choice. Adding to cart with my uhaul van rental saved me time and frustration calling around for estimates. I booked same day, super easy. Confirmed in advance, showed up on time, werent stingy at all with timing and travel. Glad I booked instead of lugging everything by myself.

They stated they could do the job Friday. Then they disclosed Id have to pay double. Due to the non 24 hour notice. After I stated no Im not interested in that. They offered to complete the service on Saturday July 4. I agreed that I could do Saturday early morning. They agreed, I went along and started planning the move. Then I received an email apologizing that they couldn't do the service on Saturday due to a call out. Ive already purchased a moving truck. At this moment Im upset. I left my number and info no one called me but emailed at the last minute. I asked several times for someone to call me they never did. Darryl who was the one emailing me. Asked me if the could accommodate Sunday. I stated I was afraid to even make a commitment for Sunday due to constant cancelation and that this an inconvenience for me. I had very bad experience with Helping Hands. We agreed at 3 PM then was told at 5 PM. The movers were not professional and damaged the entrance wall and left black marks on the other walls.
