I didn't need any moving supplies, but the invoice included a hand truck/dolly and furniture pads ( which were not in the truck). The customer service representative promptly removed those items from the invoice-kudos for the customer-focused response. A better scenario would have included confirming that those items were desired (or not) at the time of check out.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful when the U-haul systems/servers were completely down and inoperable, preventing them from fulfilling reservations. This was a circumstance which was not the employees' fault. U-haul corporate should do more to ensure their technology infrastructure is more resilient. The servers being down frustrated scores of customers and cost business. It took 1.5 hours for me to get the trailer I rented.

not only was my car hooked up improperly and chained to my exhaust pipe unsafely, they also gave me a truck with the tire pressure lights on and gas almost empty and said the light was incorrect because the “vehicles are old and sometimes have lights that show up for no reason” they claimed they checked and filled the tire but did not.

Very disappointed with the service and questioning whether I will use U-Haul again in the future. Online check in was extremely slow and was trying to upsell me on multiple things just to confirm an order. All I wanted to do was rent a truck to pick up furniture I ordered from a store - I was *not* moving, thank you. Beyond that, the online site indicated that I would be able to pick up and drop off at a site much closer to my home and only after the order confirmed did they send and update that I was being moved to a site miles away. When we arrived to pick up the truck, we had to wait in a line for literally 45 minutes - that was after we did the 'online check-in' prior to that to make the pick up easier. Service was extremely slow and this site seemed to be understaffed.

I was approached, and someone tried to open my back door, by a random person who was allowed to be on site asking me if they could come with me. The CS rep who helped me though was ok.

Well this is my experience I tried to do like reservation online I was able to reserve the truck that I wanted but I didn't know that the reservation was not finalized so when I got to the location I didn't have any information for me to explain and still did not receive the vehicle that I wanted so I was a little bit upset with that and had to do a walk-in which cost me a lot more ready than I wanted to spend but I do you like U-Haul

I rented a trailer for auto transport to tow my vehicle behind the Uhaul truck that I rented. The ratchet system was not working properly because it appeared it was dirty/rusty and not maintained. It would not tighten the straps that go around the vehicle tires until a staffmember oiled the system and this occurred after it least 35 minutes spent trying to tighten the straps with the ratchet system unsuccessfully. After the ratchet system was oiled the system started to work better and we we're able to tighten the straps around the vehicle tires. However, about halfway through the road trip to our drop off location for the Uhaul, we noticed during a stop for fuel that the straps holding the passenger front tire in place had completely slipped off. Luckily we noticed it at this time and tightened it up. This could have been a completely dangerous situation. If the other strap had come loose off of the driver's side front tire the car could have come off the trailer and caused an accident. The equipment could have been much better maintained and was not in acceptable condition to be rented out. The amount of money I spent on the Uhaul truck and the auto transport trailer combined should have been more than enough for proper maintenance to have been conducted on the equipment prior to the start of my rental

The app for checking in was not very intuitive, so I had to go inside. Once inside, they were quick to help, but as I was going through the process, they told me they needed an emergency contact. I had already provided one, but they told me I needed 2 emergency contacts. When I go for surgery at the hospital, I have never needed 2 emergency contacts, and I have never rented a car before in my life where they needed 2 emergency contacts, so it is weird that I needed 2 emergency contacts for a 4 hour, 13 mile rental round trip. After returning the car, there was a very long line of people in the store. The employee outside cleaning the vehicles told me to just leave the truck with the keys in it, and I could go, but would get an email or text saying it was checked in. That never happened, so now I am left not knowing if it got checked in, or if someone walking past jumped in and now has a new pickup truck. I guess I will find out eventually.

When I got the truck the fuel tank was empty, I had 7 miles to get to a gas station which was a bit of a bummer. When I went to return the truck no one came out to help with the checkout process. Overall quite an easy and effortless experience though

The pick- up and drop off locations entered on-line for reservation was not what we were scheduled for. We were sent to alternate location and ended up picking up 2 1/2 hours after requested reservation time of 8am. We were required to backtrack to return vehicle to Shoreline location instead of dropping at our chosen online location. Extra costs involved in every aspect (gas/mileage/time) and our own time wasted for our move. We returned the vehicle with gas in tank after receiving it on empty. Vehicle gas tank was empty and vehicle gate was padlocked with no key provided when we picked up at changed location. We received no phone call from representative prior to pick up date as indicated in reservation confirmation.

Easy pick up and good communication during our rental. They should be aware that you need chains driving across the US when going over the passes. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time. We were able to purchase chains along the way from a different vendor.

1. Ensure vehicles are clean without customer waiting 30 minutes + to receive reserved vehicle. This vehicle was “cleaned” and given to this customer with broken glass and trash in cargo area. Also had cigarette tobacco and ashes in cab. 2. Ensure the gas is adequate, not empty! Also do not require customer add fuel to vehicle to get to destination. 3. Do not double charge customer for fuel when contract agrees customer should return vehicle at same fuel level of fuel received. In this customers case fuel was empty and customer contract and staff “Christine” directed this customer to return at same fuel level truck was received with, stating customer would receive “fuel credit if brought back with more fuel” customer was charged $40.50 for fuel anyway. Return location refused to reverse charge stating contract requires truck to be returned with 1/4 tank. My contract indicated fuel level of EMPTY. EZ-FUELSM OPTIONS: Self-Refueling: Return truck with the same fuel gauge reading as indicated on the Rental Contract signed by the Customer.

Do not park the trucks so close together that the mirrors scrape when backing out. It's like you're trying to get money for damages waiting to happen. Delayed us getting back to meet our movers because had to wait for someone to come move the truck so it was drivable. Also the dolleys we ordered were not in the truck and had to go back inside to get them. All employees were friendly and professional though, so that was nice.

I did have a small problem with online verification of equipment pickup. It wasnt loading properly on my phone as I had rented it but had someone else drive. Also lack of parking (even just while dropping a driver) seems could be inconvenient

Train your techs better - brake chain not attached. Eliminate photo capture requirement or amend policy to have images deleted when equipment is returned. If this is a site requirement, inform customers of it well ahead of pickup. Invasive and totally unnecessary with ID capture. Furthermore, align your app with onsite reservation system. Lastly, if equipment is listed as available and is faulty (car carrier lights failed). Avoid including it as a rental until full operational condition is confirmed. You wasted my valuable time. I will not ever return to Shoreline U-Haul. I'd rather find an alternative option.
