Danielle was awesome on pickup. They were SO slammed but by the time I arrived she had everything ready to rock and even greeted me by name as I arrived on the lot. An absolute smooth transaction in every way. Easy, good value and cool people. Go UHaul!

Recently the attitude and presence of the area management has been less than pleasant , not Sure.... where the happy smiles went and where this non caring for customer / employee relationship came from. I’ve always dealt with the guys there and they’ve been great , just curious in the past 6 or 7 times I’ve rented a trailer from them .This time I was greeted by a young lady , who was very cold and rude , Repeating herself WE DONT DO THAT HERE, and WE DO THST NOT YOU , Lady I’ve driven truck for 10 years I always hook trailer to my vehicle!!! Why?? Cause if that trailer comes off. ( ITS MY PROBLEM). Besides I trust nobody when it comes to the road and safety no offense. Long story short , been there at least 6 or 7 times the past few months trying to get my two properties in order , I don’t care for what experience her extensive 9 years have brought , Except for that her customer service , attitude , etc etc…. Obviously could use another 9 years of training , I honestly hope I do not see her again…. Thanks for your time

When I made a reservation online I reserved a truck size 20, appliance dolly and the furniture dolly all these items that I reserved they did not have when I arrive to the U-Haul they switched my truck size to a 15 even though I confirmed the day before I wanted size 20 truck

Previously went to the Ceres location to pick up a trailer the previous evening, and was told I couldn't pull the trailer with my bumper and ball, even though I have pulled the big box trailer several times. That was an inconvenience. Had to wait the next day to pick up in Modesto.

I never got my truck Tues night after 2 hours in the parking lot with customer service. Online qlicth I guess I was given a number to call for compensation but that required 2 more hours on the phone so I gave up. And now to top it off I have an extra unexplained charge of 47 dollars taken from my account. I left the tank with over a quarter tank as instructed but took pictures of it only having sm eighth of a tank when we got it. The whole experience made our move much more stressful.

Stick to the rental contract. Both our pick up location and drop off location were moved to different cities than what we had scheduled and paid for. 20 minutes away for pick up and 30 minutes away for drop off. Added 50 miles to our rental.

Worst customer service ever!!! This was not my original pick up location. Kansas Ave was, they did not have my 20ft truck ready or anything to replace it with. Instead they wanted me to drive to Manteca or Oakdale. What!!?? I had no choice but to get a smaller 15ft truck available at the McHenry location. This location isn't any better. They had called to have the truck ready with an appliance dolly and they had no appliance dolly or any idea about the call!!....there is not guarantee so I don't know why Uhual even bothers to put that when you make a reservation.

Tire went flat, and was charged for a dolly i never got. So they gave me an extra day, but was charged for it even though it was supposed to be free. And no trailer lights.

Truck I rented reeked of gasoline while it was on. Even worse when the AC was turned on. Blew nothing but cold gasoline smelling air. Had to ride with windows down because of how bad it was. Not sure what the issue is but someone might wanna look into that. Not sure if inhaling all those fumes is safe…

I rented a motorcycle trailer to move some office equipment. There was a bit of oil in the recessed areas of the unit. Perhaps a steam cleaning might be in order for the next rental.

My service person was great. The first day she was unexpectedly working alone but kept a smile on her face as she ran from register to trailer hook up. She was composed and efficient. My hitch part wasn’t in but she called me later in the day when it arrived. You should probably give her a raise! :)

My only (and admittedly minor) complaint is that the truck was very dirty and the windshield and side windows were haphazardly cleaned. No big deal, I cleaned them. Other than that, service was great! Truck was ready early, check in and out was a breeze.

The cost is too high. You seem to Nickle and dime the customer every step of the way. I use the same truck two Saturdays in a row, a different price each time. I waived the ins. the second time and the cost ROSE over twenty dollars. No recommendation from me.

I always rent vans from uhaul, but I was very disappointed when I picked up my van. It was so dirty, inside and out. The back was also very dirty. I was surprised they let me take the van in that condition. It also was empty. No gas! I was not happy this time.

next time have the dollies available still haven't been reimbursed for the rental of the dollys that didn't even arrive. the truck was stinky like a wet dog and had dog hair in the cab

Staff was friendly and very efficient. quick process timed with excellent customer service, However my 15ft truck was in really bad shape. Interior was very dusty and grimy, cabin smelled like rat urine and now my home products smell. There was rat droppings inside the cargo area and the smell was very unpleasant. I wish I had a cleaner truck. I should had checked the cargo area before taking this truck.

Picking up my truck on Saturday, August 1 was a nightmare. They were understaffed and I waited over an hour just to get my keys. The credit card machine was not working and the girl behind the counter was in tears. It was also over 80° in there with no AC that I know of. I also tried to call customer service while waiting in line to see if I could check in and get my key without lines and hold time was 32 minutes. Really need to look at your operations and staffing … a lot of unhappy customers.

The rental we were given had no oil - when notifying employees inside, they told me I can just take it anyway and call my roadside assistance if I get stuck. No other options were given. When picking up the rental, the extra equipment we paid for was not inside the rental like promised. The 24/7 Truck Share self service site needs major improvement. Super glitchy. Don't use it, not worth it. And get there at least 20 mins before rental pickup time. That's how long you'll need to get the app or site working. Better to just walk inside. The only helpful employee was Jacqueline.

You can be consistent for starters. Let me be very clear that the employees at the McHenry location are very professional and wonderful. It’s the location off Main Street in Manteca, CA that really made my experience terrible. The employee there was clueless and offered no help at all nor an apology for what happened to me. I had reserved a trailer at the McHenry location but later received an email stating that the reservation was changed to the location in Manteca,CA. When I arrived the employee said” uhhh there’s nothing here for you” All he said was that there was a reservation for the Modesto CA area. I showed him the email confirmation and he looked dumbfounded and then told me to go to the McHenry location in Modesto. This really upset me because there was no explanation nor any customer service to even attempt to smooth things over for me. By simply apologizing and offering a sincere attempt to make my experience better you left a customer frustrated. When at the McHenry location I had to scan my license, however, I didn’t have my physical license on me because it was renewed online. I had previously rented a truck with UHaul and explained that I have proof of my license renewal and they accepted my ID. This is where the consistency comes in for me, I know the employee on McHenry was very professional and was upholding the policies of UHaul. Do you see where I’m going with this? A month ago I’m able to rent a truck and then I’m denied a trailer so thank goodness my dad came with me and we scanned his license. If one UHaul location helps customers and accepts proof of license renewal- then all locations should. Don’t get me started with actually calling customer service because I did only to be put on hold for over an hour to have a representative just listen and only offered to have a manager from the McHenry location call me. So ridiculous how the complaint process is set up- here you go wait an hour so we can do nothing but forward your info to a manager. SMH. You let me down UHaul.

The truck smelled like cigarettes badly. I spent 20 mins trying to take a photo of the odometer to return the truck after hours and it never worked. The gas was incorrect when I checked out the truck. But they still marked my gas too low. I've never had a problem at other uhauls like this.

Trucks AC only worked 45% of the time. Right blinker shortage only worked part of the time. Shimmy issues with front end. Also never received an updated invoice after return, and need for expenses. Was told it would be emailed when I dropped it off. Only have the initial estimate.
