Returned equipment here today. The employee was at the front desk, he was NOT friendly or helpful, he came across very apathetic. When he couldn’t find my order to return, he just stared at me like it was MY problem to fix. I watched him interact with 3 other customers before me and he was cold and uninterested in helping in all cases. To be entirely honest, my overall experience with UHaul makes me not want to use or recommend their services again. There were multiple issues receiving our truck, which we have already spoken with customer service with, and now the way I was treated today made me feel like a burden rather than a customer.

The drop off location was great as well. My issue was with the truck itself. I move when it was snowing and when I got to my destination and open the truck, my furnitures were full of snow. Seems as if the snow came in from the top and bottom of the truck. That was not a good experience at all.

Great staff but leading dock was partly blocked by a trailer. Loading bay barely fit my tiny car. Dollies were tiny. Storage area stunk bad like raid. And Worst thing was the locker had bugs in it. Appear to be dead.. but I didn't check. They looked like cockroach bodies but not sure. I canceled my locker. Empty pop bottle up in ceiling grating.

Everything was good until the fire. Items were tossed without owner's permission. Elevator out of service since fire so extremely inconvenient when your storage unit is on the second floor. Trying to haul everything down the stairs was hard and time consuming. Anyone affected by the fire and on the second floor should have had a decrease in the monthly fee for the inconvenience of no elevator. Also, if the person who's unit caused the fire, then that person's insurance should be responsible for the loss of damaged items in all units affected.

This was the least professional and most incompetent company I’ve ever dealt with! My stuff was moved to another site without my permission, and then your company refused to return it to the site I had stored it at! The site manager refused to speak to me, and the equipment I had rented did not include the dolly my reservation clearly stated I needed. I originally had my belongings in climate control where your company moved them outside where there was considerable freezing damage done to my belongings destroying large amounts of my things! Not only will I never use your company for anything ever again I will be telling everyone I come across how terrible your services are!

The app is a joke!! Did the pre check in days before when I arrived to pick up the truck the same app made me reenter all the same information then had me sit iamd wait 5 minutes to approve the check in. Finally went to the desk where he had to verify all the same information that was entered in the app. What is the point of the app?? Also was charged for 6 litres of gas. I only drove 12 km. That is 2 km/L of gas. This is a fuel efficient vehicle? Very disappointed will look other places before renting again.

I was told I would be charged for 1 day rental not 2 if I had it back within 2 hours after the designated time. We were told we had a grace period of two hours. When the trailer was dropped off my dad was told the same thing from one of your employees. My credit card was charged for 2 days.

They charged me for two days even though I picked up and drop it on the same day (Saturday). Upon calling the location on Monday, the staff said they assumed that I drop on Sunday since they received the keys from their staff on Monday. How can someone charge the customer based on assumptions? Is this how your rip the clients off? This is not acceptable.

I reserved a furniture dolly and when I came to pick up the cargo trailer they had none left... make sure the people who booked online get what they need. First cargo trailer someone cut the wiring. Second we used but it was tight to hook up since wasnt too long. Need more parking for customers

First there was a fire and I was never notified and didn’t find out until months later that some of my stuff had been thrown out and no pictures were taken of what was lost that I could provide to insurance. Just a note saying rugs and blankets. Now I find out there has been a flood!! Tried for days to call and get through and left messages that were not returned. The fuel level indicated on contract is not actual. Hence unnecessary fuel charges were applied. The customer service did not fully explain that discrepancy in fuel level should be disputed immediately by responding to the text. ( Not all people who are renting vans or truck are constantly looking at their phone for text messages. It is -30) Despite explaining that photo of fuel level and mileage was taken before and after. Proper orientation of customer service is recommended especially on rules that may incur additional charges.

This is directed to UHaul in general The lights were defective I needed to buy temporary lights to feel comfortable and safe while driving long distance. Also the original request to return the trailer towas changed to new drop off which was 3 1/2 hrs away from my final destination instead of 37 min, I phoned to have drop off reverted to original request, was denied. obviously not in the customers best interest. Otherwise the personnel were good.

Fire in building has caused myself a lot of work cleaning and the loss of damaged goods with zero compensation. Loosing the use of the elevator I had to hire two labours to help move the locker down the flight of stairs to the truck.

The individuals who helped yesterday were the first group to be helpful. When initially getting my unit I was told I couldn’t get a unit rented when I had an outstanding truck rental (which was full of the items I needed to store). They prompted me to use someone else’s name, I said sure so long as I keep authorization. They ended up not authorizing me. Which would have been ok if there hadn’t have been a fire which caused my first lock to be cut requiring me to find someone to come check in while I was out of town. This is when I found out I didn’t get the authority I requested. To top it off I had my unit lock cut again when they came back to repair drywall. Coming to empty out my unit I could barely access the place because so many uhaul boxes were jammed in the lot. It took us 20 minutes to find the price of a cargo bar cause it was stored in the wrong location and tag was ripped off. (Was the only one left). And the storage area had puddles dozens of garbage cans blocking hallways making it harder to get items out of our unit. The manager who helped me at the end was knowledgeable and I heard he managed the move from one unit to another in my absence, none of my items were damaged even though difficult to move. Otherwise it was a terrible experience.

Lost my mattress and bed frame and my chais lounge and some priceless mementos in the fire due to black mold. I was originally told the fee payments for my unit would be taken out automatically so I didn’t take much time to pay attention to the withdrawals and I apparently after a representative mentioned that this would be occurring apparently there was a glitch in the system and so they weren’t automatically withdrawing my payments me so I did end up having to pay a lump sum of $293 on top of that they wouldn’t reimburse me for my damaged items. Prior to the fire I had only had my items there for a month..so as of today I have cancelled my unit taken my things and thrown them in the garbage and I’m not happy about the service there.

Honestly this fire really messed things up for a lot of people. I know everyone’s busy, and possibly trying the best they can. Frankly I felt they stole from a lot of people, including myself. I’m not even sure how a propane tank can be “damaged” by water. I had a lot of valuable things in my storage unit that cost thousands of dollars. All of it gone. And all they could do and say is pretty much it’s not there problem. I wouldn’t recommend this storage facility to anyone. I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with how they handled everything. It just seemed so wrong. I personally feel like this place is extremely crooked.

I would give this facility a 0 out of 5, if I could. What a horrendous experience. My storage locker was one of the ones affected by the fire in late summer. I was at work at a remote camp 1,500 km away when it happened, so I took U-Haul up on their offer of free services to empty and clean my storage locker. I had 99% of my personal belongings in that locker, as we had moved from Ontario to Alberta and stored our household until we could find a place to live. Several of my items were disposed of during the cleaning, which I understood. What I'm upset about is the fact that several damaged and moldy items were put back in the storage unit. Most of the items in my unit were filthy when I moved out. Power cords for my printer and espresso machine were thrown out or lost when they reboxed those items. Several items have also gone missing, such as my classic SNES. I've had to throw out additional appliances that were covered in mold. Another annoyance is that, despite being forced to buy a round U-Haul lock when I rented the unit, they cut it off and replaced it with a generic U-Haul lock that I wasn't allowed to use in the first place. Rules for thee, not for me! They also documented the damage to my items for their insurance adjustor, but told me I couldn't claim for any damages. Other than the fire issues, this location is incredibly cramped and busy. The staff seem to be burnt out and unmotivated (can't hardly blame them). I tried to access my unit at 7PM one day, and got stopped by a security guard (access was supposed to be until 10PM!). Overall, a terrible terrible experience. I'm out several thousand dollars due to water damage caused by flooding from a blocked drain in their parking lot, and I've had to clean and disinfect my belongings after their "professional services" handled things (sometimes with sticky fingers). I'll never use U-Haul again, and this wasn't my first cross-country move with them either.

Fire took place. Many of our belonging had water and smoke damage. Many of our items were discarded in the dumpster by the clean up crew. Lots of things are missing. The chaos for clean up was unbelievable. I would never use U-Haul again. One or two of the staff were knowledgeable, the rest of the staff were lazy and rude.

I didn't even move in. Once checked in I went to the loading dock. The dock was entirely covered with stuff that it was hard to walk. It was blocked with man lifts. The access card didn't work. When I went back into the store the line was so long that I didn't want to wait. Called the store later and asked to cancel the contract and get a refund. The charge is still pending on my card so hopefully it comes off soon.

Your "secure" storage facility caught fire and destroyed literally ever possession I owned. The fire was intentionally set. It burned for ten hours, which gives me serious misgivings about the fire suppression system at this location. Every possession I had was reduced entirely to ash. Metal objects were melted into unrecognizable shapes. To add insult to injury, U-Haul only communicated with us about the fire using text messages, and forced me to attend the site twice without actually giving me access to the unit. The team onsite was friendly, but seemed poorly prepared and overworked, with little support. When I finally got access to the unit, it was with the insurance adjuster provided by U-Haul, with the goal of assessing the insurance costs for the corporation. This took roughly 30 seconds, as there were no surviving possessions to note. There was no consideration given to assessing my own insurance needs, or even the human impact of the losses. The task of cleaning up the unit was given to an army of casual day labourers, who were given substandard gloves and safety equipment, no tools, and little training. The premises were unlit and unsecured, heavily contaminated with water and smoke damage, and unsafe for both the casual workers and for the storage unit owners. As a measure of the disrespect that U-Haul apparently holds for human life - nobody even had a flashlight, an item that costs less than 10 dollars and could prevent a serious injury to U-Haul personnel, their casual labor force, or the customers attempting to salvage their burned possessions. At ever turn, the impression I had was a massive multination corporation looking out only for it's own interests, while paying it's people the absolute minimum, ignoring customer service, safety, security, and the rights that it's customers have to fair treatment, transparency, and respect. The worst decision I've ever made in my life was trusting U-Haul with my possessions. I believe that many people who made the mistake of using your storage facility would feel the same way.

All my stuff burned in the fire you had at your storage. Which is fine cause it wasn't uhaups fault, but after the fire while the storage unit was open a bunch of my things were stolen from my unit that wasn't burned and noone is taking responsibility for it, I'm also not getting those back so not only did I lose almost everything in the fire but I lost a bunch of things that were stolen. So not too happy. Before the fire though the storage was great, I'm just not happy about my Xbox and Nintendo getting stolen.

With the fire that destroyed most of my belongings I was very sad that I lost at least half to 2/3rds to water damage and I had wished that I was told that uhaul would not cover any damages that made me very upset, so I also wanted you to know that mold got the rest of what I took out, 😔 sadly for all I paid over the years $194 per month nothing was covered for damage, however you have been helpful getting out of there, sad Brad 😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😞😔😞😞😞😞

Staff were grumpy bordering on rude We were assigned an inside locker and could only access through small door until 10:00 pm. We got locked into the parking lot by other U-Haul vehicles and had to take trailer off to get out of parking lot and reattach. We did not get a free lock because I couldn’t use iPhone to log in although U-Haul call centre said I could get one when I explained my difficulty.

They don't have prorated rates for storages. I have to pay full price in last year November for 2 days, That's a ripoff. And use this storages almost 8 months. Any storage facilities offer prorated rates. Management need to consider this option when they do business.

First, I must say Josh is fantastic and the most friendly/professional individual I have encountered at this location. This review in no way reflects him. I have been into this location about 4 or 5 times and the staff talk, laugh and joke around with each other more than they focus on customer service. This leads to information not being passed on to the customer such as the sliding door for the storage facility locking at 7pm. I called the after hours number as we were not sure why the door wouldn't open anymore and got no response. I came back to this location thinking my last experience was maybe just a one off but, it seems to be the norm. The recommendation is to contact the facility before leaving feedback but, who do you call?...

The people that I dealt with were great. My issue came with billing. I had tried to communicate my issues to U-Haul but was unable to successfully do so. I was set to return my vehicle on one side of Edmonton that neither had storage space to assist me or capacity to take my vehicle. Angie was great - she found me an alternative spot to drop off the truck and have storage. This would require time. I was meant to drop my truck at 6 am but even with all the running from one end of the city to the other I was still able to arrive at the final location before noon. But I was charged a full extra day for the truck. And on top of that I was charged additional KM why is there not enough KM offered to make it to Edmonton. + I had to travel through the city extra KM to make up the new drop location. The final billing on this trip was not fare. and I have rated my experience poor.

The west end location for storage is a nightmare if your trying to unload and load from your storage units all the returns are in the worst spot you cant turn around with a trailer without popping the cub and cutting off almost half the one lane.. it is extremely inconvenient and something that should be looked at and requires Improvement.. the gentleman I dealt with at the Kingsway location was absolutely fantastic he came out of his way to come hook me up drop off my dolly and swap me out on an unenclosed trailer halfway through my rental he is a neighborhood dealer but was extremely professional and effective for his location I would actually call him before I called your U-Haul locations to wait on hold for 15 minutes LOL

I would like to suggest that you give a pro rated rate if people move out on the first of month, I ended up paying for a whole month at 195.00and only needed it until April first had to pay until April 22 2023 from Oct 22 2022 , you might find people are more receptive to renting from you . I booked online with a CC and took a photo of my DL to make my reservation. When I arrived in the morning the reservation was there but none of the photos were and the whole reservation had to be cancelled and started over - so basically I had to go through the process twice which was a time waste for what the online process is for. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The facility was CLEAN on the interior. My only complaint was that there is a MAJOR drainage problem with ice buildup and melting at this site. It may affect storage units with flooding just looking at it. The overhang at the entrance designed to protect from water actually feels like its pouring water on you and gets your stuff wet. Could be improved. But overall for sure I will use U-haul again thanks! Hope this helps your teams.

Originally rented a 5 by 5 unit, but it was actually 5 by 4, then with the roll up door it was 4 by 4 so I needed to upgrade to a 5 by 10. Which again was only 9’ deep. The parking lot and access to the building is very cluttered with trucks and trailers making it take way too long to unload and access the ramp

The storage unit with exterior access was flooded during move-in in August. The staff, when called by me from BC, went out and roved a lot of water from the floor. I can only assume they helped her lay the orange tarp on the floor also. Most boxes were dry but underneath the tarp there was still plenty of water. Fortunately none of my belongings wete ruined but one box st the rear of the unit containing durable goods was falling apart from being soaked with ground water. Thankfully my stuff was removed before freeze up. The staff on move out were pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately I think I left my credit card behind and it was used for numerous food purchases and attempted online purchases which were reversed before I checked my online account and cancelled the card. Or there’s a possibility that another customer took my credit card. The staff on duty yesterday were not the same people who I dealt with when I moved into my smaller unit in August.

I was told how to enter access codes. Not told how to open the main sliding door to push the dollys in and out. No insurance was spoken about but was checked off on my paperwork. There is no light in the storage unit. Had to provide information for a third party not residing at my address for security purposes. Which makes no sense. It would be my husband who would be the next person to contact if I can’t be reached not a friend. I will be working hard to downsize the amount in storage in short order so I can eliminate the need for the locker completely.

Maria, a staff member working in the units, was exceptional! In addition to being an extremely friendly person, Maria assisted us when we realized that the unit we had reserved was going to be too small. Maria sourced a larger unit for us and took care of all of the requirements to facilitate the change. This was of course over and above her normal duties. The rest of the staff at the facility were good, and there we have no complaints, but service like that which Maria provided is what would make me go out of my way to use that facility over others that may be closer.

The road in/out was never plowed. Deep groves of ice and snow for my small car to drive around. It did not appear ice melt was ever put down. Slippped and fell at one point. A very large truck was parked on the ramp on my move out and I asked if it could be removed. It was not. There never seemed to be enough staff and the wait times were always long, but kudos to the pleasant, hard working staff that do work there.

I had 2 units, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor, the outdoor I had more access as in later access. The indoor your only allowed till 5pm, which sucks when you have a lot of stuff. I moved in, in the fall, I moved out in Dec. 24 during a deep freeze. My outside unit was frozen shut, they did put ice melt on it, but it took over an hour for them to use a pick axe and open the door. My movers had to sit and wait. The prices differ between which uhaul you go to, seems individual owners set their own prices. I used west end edm, they were more reasonable than other locations. All and all, they are ok for storage, they are better than Sentinel storage.

A pipe in the ceiling leaked all over our patio cushions and stained them. One of the staff here (short, long brown hair, worked in the evening on October 21) was very rude. She did not have a good customer service attitude, we felt that when we went to the counter we were an annoyance or inconvenience to her. She did not explain things clearly.

I don’t expect all experiences to be bad, but it was not good. They couldn’t find my reservation so we had to do a new one. They were going to give me a smaller unit than I wanted. I was told before I got there that the 2nd floor was drive up and it was not. And it took about 45 minutes in the office to set this all up. And they made me buy a circular lock even though I had just bought a U-Haul key lock.

I have worked with this Uhaul location in the past. Never had a problem or grievous. The young and older people are very helpful when asked with questions they can be useful with. There is a woman, a short large woman who makes not only customer's lives difficult but the employee's life as well. I believe she is a cancer to this site and to the company as a whole. It would be in your best interest to either re-route this person to a back seat position with zero personal influx of simply move this person out of the company fixture.

Unit was not ready and there was no lock in the unit as I was told there would be for check in. I spent an hour trying to find someone to aid me when finally the yard guy, Perry, was kind enough to grab a lock for me and get me set up after hours. However this should not have been the case. The building is full of broken glass and garbage everywhere. Not well maintained.

10 years as a customer. Two break-ins despite a "secure" facility. Never any meaningful response or responsibility taken. Elevator down twice in business hours. Security cameras offline for months at a time, let alone blind spots. Floor waxed in business hours prohibiting access to some areas. Elevator and parking area always dirty. Many problems over the years with card access/failure. Number of handtrucks and handcarts reduced to maybe 1, 2 or 3 out of the original 8. Facility opened fine and then continually ran downhill over the years with no money spent to maintain or upgrade. I could not in good conscience recommend this facility to anyone.

My U-haul Storage rental unit #1203 was broken into at 2:00 am. Your staff member (Nicole?) called me, and said the breakin was captured on video. Within days, she changed her story 3 separte time: 1st she can't sshow me the video due to 'privacy'. Then, the video camers weren't working. Finally, she said their ARE no cameras. This is unacceptable. I tried to close the unit rental contral in 3 separate visits to your office. 1st the staff didn't help at all (Sat. morning, young man was clerk). 2nd visit, a female staff (same one that phoned about the breakin) gave me a form to sign reliquishing my claim on any property therein, and closing the rental term by removing my credit card no. from the account (Oct 27). Finally, I kept getting emails from yyour service telling me that the rental that I had already closed was 'overdue' and you we charging me late fees on a contract that was closed. This has been a miserable experince, in which I lost thousands of dollars in property, was lied to and disrepected throughout by your staff (wyo by the way NEVER annser the phone, nor can I leave a msg), and I wasted dozens of hours trying to deal with your company on what should have never happened, if you ran a safe and secure facility. This is actually probably the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, next to skip the dishes. I had some fraud on my debit card, so I needed to change the card on file. I tried called U Haul for 3 weeks straight, nobody would answer the phone. The card was declined and I was charged a late fee. I decided to cancel the storage at that point. After I moved out, I STILL couldn’t get ahold of anyone. They would immediately put me on hold and sometimes even hang up on me. This location is an absolute joke. I loathe going inside because they have 1 incompetent person working the counter for a lineup of 20 customers. Oh, and there is often employees just standing around doing nothing when it’s super busy.

The facility was a mess, elevator barely worked. Garbage thrown around both outside and inside the building. The outer bay door that’s supposed to make the facility secure was not only but broken! And then there was a homeless guy camping out inside one of the units down a few lockers from my unit! I then called the U-Haul office to wait on hold for thirty min, and then even though I was polite and nice to the CCR Taylor she hung up on me. Only problem on the day when we were moving out was, that we were waiting for 30 min, even though I checked in the day before. The main door was closed so we had to take out our stuff through the side door, which was tough but we survived. There was no courtesy dollies at all, and usually some were there, so we had to get one from the other storage building. Other than this, everything was ok.

The front desk staff were very polite and accommodating despite the office being very busy. They were able to answer all of my questions and provide me with equipment I required at no extra cost. The staff even provided some suggestions about how to strategically park the truck so that it would be easier to unload in the storage bay. The return of the truck was so easy and seamless, I had to clarify a couple times if there was anything else that needed to be done and it was already taken care of!

I left question 5 unanswered because no the facility could have been cleaned more often: washroom ,garbage,can with paper towels over flowing, toilet paper missing: however after I spoke to one of the fellow attendants , he saaid that people just take the roll with them- I'm aware that the human mind leaves much to be desired! you are off the hook on that one. Come prepared! Garbage at main doors left for days. I was at the facility U-Haul fairly often. Lots of garbage out in front of the truck rental check area- I even picked up some of the broken plastic totes. I would say room for improvement. simply assign someone to do a check every evening - would solve the problem. -always had trouble with the monthly payments, was locked out of storage locker monthly which was very inconvenient. Every error was on the side of uhaul -the area where the unloading zone for the storage lockers were was always totally covered in ice. Looks like it was barely salted or cared for -when I urgently needed access to my storage locker and was locked out, the following day I tried to call to sort it out at around 6pm, still an hour left of operating. Called the store the entire hour and NO ONE could answer. Just want to the call centre -seems like no one cares about their work here, unmotivated, not caring? Not sure but it was never a super pleasant experience.

Understaffed at month end so a lot of waiting. Good customer service from the one gal at the desk. Your point of sale machines are poor and don’t process accurately, declines transaction for no reason

The alarm would go off every 5 minutes for no reason. The alarm was deafening and extremely annoying. A staff member parked infornt of a loading bay and scoffed when I asked for them it. Very rude.

Property is filthy w/gbg everywhere, indoors & out. Street ppl at their unit all day. Massive mouse issue indoors. Place reeks. Mouse urine & feces all over my furniture. Costly cleaning. Never again.

Access to my unit was bad, since there’s only one way to drive in and it was often blocked. Hours were somewhat limited. Online updates seldom work worked. Good access to dollies. Key cards work well

There was ice on the loading dock~ very dangerous , caused by the snow melting from the roof and freezing overnight. Access to the storage building entrance was often restricted by the trucks
