Customer service is terrible. The person helping me at the counter when I arrived kept looking at the counter and mumbling. When it was time to get the truck, it was parked in the middle of 2 other trucks so close that there wasn't any room to get the truck out. The.rep finally came outside and when I asked him for help he said "what do you want me to do?" The truck was given to me with a 1/4 tank of gas which I put gas in twice and was still charged a $60 gas fee. I also have pics of gas gauge at pick up and drop off. I was 30 min after my 5:30 drop off time and received a not so friendly call wanting to know where the truck was. When I dropped off the truck I was asked to drive it another 5 feet forward to accomodate the guy cleaning trucks. When I declined to move it after I had already gotten out of the.truck he rolled his eyes at me. This location could definitely use some customer service training.

There was trash in the cab and less than a quarter tank of gas when I received the vehicle; why should I have to pay for more gas than I use? Also, the steering leaned left (even when empty). Only positive was that the staff was friendly.

My first rental therefore I'm not an expert, however both employees were very kind . I had noticed when I had gotten in the truck the gas gauge wasn't where she had said and marked it to be, so I took a live video as my phone doesn't automatically time stamp photos. When I returned the truck after we were finished for the day and let the gentleman know , showed him the photo as well so that the mileage matched up as I hadn't left the lot. He came back in and did the adjustment so that I wouldn't be charged . Told me good idea to take pictures in cases like this unfortunately people aren't as honest will steal gas? Not quite sure how that works and sorry to hear people do that , as the consequences trickle down to the honest people. Nonetheless my first experience with u haul and those working at the store were extremely kind which made my first rental a positive experience, thank you for that. ( I was really scared to drive that truck, but it was so easy)😊

I was not told I had to check how much gas was in the vehicle I was just told how much gas there was, and to return it with that much gas. My trip was 70 miles one way when I got to the endpoint there I had to fill up the tank with $80 worth of gas, I come back the next 70 miles to the store and I only have to put 10 gallons of gas in the vehicle. I questioned why the difference was and I was told I should've checked the gas that wasn't the answer I wanted to hear why did it take? "" 9/10 of the tank to go 70 miles one way and less than 1/10 of the tank to come back the gentleman that checked me and also said well. We have gas stolen from us overnight so that might've been what happened my thinking if you know the gas is stolen overnight you would stop it , and you don't give the veteran a benefit which seems strange in this year

Kinda sucks because we returned our truck early and got no refund on the day or even the insurance for that day we didn't use the truck! It was back in enough time to be rented back out. I do think the clerk who help me at pick up was AWESOME!

I had a reservation to pick up a cargo van at 8am, but I could not because it was in the system as a not assisted pick up so I had to wait an hour until the store opened at 9sm. There was no true apology for my inconvenience, and I had to request a discount for the inconvenience. Next, since the tank was half full I tried to fill up the tank for my trip but could not because something in the tank or near the opening triggered the gas pump to click often and gas would spill out of the opening. So basically I was given a faulty van that had something wrong with the gas tank which made it difficult to put gas in, and it increased the amounts of time I had to stop at the gas station and struggle to put gas in the car. Overall worst rental experience ever.

After my wife and got the van, I had left the store and when she went to leave she was blocked in by a uhaul van, she asked the manager to move so she could leave and the customer called her a few choice words. The manager did nothing to change the situation and he started blowing the horn at my wife. For someone that is a training manager he needs to be retrained and not allowed to train anyone. What a poor excuse for a manager. The kicker is he was the person that helped us check out. Good thing I w a s not there or there might have been a different out come. I called and did place a complaint with customer service. The big question is , if it was me asking to the van because the manager and customer does not know how to park, I douhgt either one would have said and thing to me since I am male.

They told me I was renting a drive up unit. When we got there, it was an interior unit way in the back. Then they took an hour to change the unit to two small ones. Then we only had three more things to unload, they locked us out. Said they were closed. When we came back in the morning to finish unloading, all of the load and unload spaces were taken. Had to wait an hour for them to move their trucks. We still have to gas up and get the truck returned. I am not happy.

Unfortunately my reservation was moved to this location which I try to avoid due to terrible customer service. 5-6 people in line each time I go with one support specialist. Ridiculous. When I told the specialist I did not need an envelope for the paperwork, he tossed it aside and literally got an attitude and threw me the key.

The vehicle I rented was in subpar condition. I drove the vehicle from Los Angeles, California to Sumner, Washington. When I traveled through Central California, I went through a storm. Water came in through the passenger side door getting my son wet. I stopped at a gas station to fill up and get blankets and towel to keep dry and I also noticed that there was a leak in the rear cab getting some of my belongings wet. The further north we traveled the colder the weather became. My windshield started to fog up and I tried to adjust the A/C, but it also was not functioning! Only the hot to cold and fan speed worked. I could not adjust the defrost function making my trip dangerous! I am disappointed in my experience this time around with U-Haul. I was not offered a discount or apology or anything at all. I hope this experience does not occur again.

The online check in experience is difficult and long. If you have a bad internet connection is impossible All of the things for check in could have been done upon initial booking, photo of self, driver's license. Alternate contacts etc,. You should be able to do everything prior and just get the key when you arrive

I had a disappointing experience with the car rental company. Despite returning the car with a full tank, they incorrectly assessed it as empty and charged me for additional fuel. Furthermore, I was billed for two extra days, which I did not use. The incorrect calculations and extra charges left me unsatisfied with their service.

Uhaul employees explained their trucks don't have gas because the local crackheads siphon the gas. This leads to a poor customer experience. Uhaul needs to do something to prevent crackheads from stealing their gas

I believe the reason my experience with Federal Way Uhaul went well is because of using their reservation's App before showing up. It's seemless, easy to use and fast. So when I showed up to get my truck it was ready and so was the associate I dealt with. When I was done they did their typical "truck check-up" and I was on my way. Easy peazy!

The computer said the gas tank was on a quarter of a tank we got in the car and it was on empty ready so I had to put $20 into the truck just to start out so I ended up paying a total of $40 for gas these cars or trucks need to be at at least a quarter of a tank

Over the years, all employees in FW have been helpful. Aaron usually helped me and is friendly and accommodating every time I visited. First, the staff was excellent and helpful given my situation and their limited ability to assist me given UHAUL policies. I would have continued my storage rental and paid my account current had any payment options been available. Unfortunately I fell behind and notifications sent to my old contact info despite several attempts to update it. Calling customer service involved several hours sitting on hold and messages unreturned. By the time I received a response several months went by and my only options were to pay in full or vacate storage unit within 72 hours. This resulted in the latter and I lost some of my possessions in storage and not given an option to bring my account current through making installment payments despite offering to do so over my next few paychecks , which was only way I could have afforded to bring my account current. As such this resulted in a loss to both me and uhaul rather than a mutually beneficial outcome

Our facility was great. UHaul as a company was NOT. The fact that we tried to set-up auto-pay FOUR TIMES and it never stuck and so then we got the threatening emails about failure to pay. We had to deal with this while we were on vacation, while a family member was dying and was just hugely inconvenient. I would never recommend anyone use UHaul because of this reason.

Majority of the staff was not friendly the phones would always go to customer service whenever you try to call and I had told them for over a year to send my unit to auction and they wouldn't do it and let the bill rack up so finally they had to eat the cost which is ridiculous that it took that long and that's even after speaking to the regional manager of storage

The staff, facility and unit cost overall were fine. There are not enough load & unload spots with a ramp. I had to unload a Uhaul from the rental truck parking area directly across from the storage facility entrance. This was not the safest because you had to wait for cars to drive by and then work your way between cars parked in the few loading spots. My mother's car also had an attempted break in the day we first acquired our storage unit. There was also a woman who seemed to live her days in her unit. Every time I came to add to my storage unit, she was there parked in a loading zone spot and inside it looked as though she had set herself out a nice living room in the aisle where she seemed to be enjoying her day.

I’ve sent several messages via email and the app as well as contacted customer service , I moved in on 8/27 and moved out on 9/26 only to be harassed stating I have an unpaid unit as well as late fees when I contacted you guys diligently on 9/25 and 9/26 with a formal statement of what I was doing, not my fault you guys aren’t cooperating or complying and all my notes are documented and date stamped, luckily there is no card on file or no authorization for any charges but really you ought to be more alert and up to date on notifications from customers especially if you give us to the options to complete your job ourselves with your self services, I’m still waiting to hear back of my confirmation that you guys have cleared and close out my account as of 9/26, so that part is where I have most issue with right now

One of the units I requested was not available due to damage. First two people who tried to help me had no idea what they were doing. Finally got an employee who knew how to check me in and assign a different h it since the original said it had damage (in the system it had a note). Checked in, shown how to access. 1 unit has a rat poison trap inside. Will need to request that be moved so we can store.

My unit was robbed. I was not called till 11am the next morning, I was told the alarm didn’t go off, I was told the cameras were covered so they didn’t see the suspect who broke in. I told them I would move my stuff out buy the end of the month. They didn’t charge me for the remainder of the month. However they double locked my unit every time I came in to move stuff out. I tried to have this issue resolved and I kept getting the “we really don’t know what happened”. I have never had such a bad experience with storage. My shed was the only one that sustained damage and robbed. This place was advertised to be secure. I felt singled out and targeted. I lost some very Valuable things that were extremely sentimental to me, and thanks to the lack of security at uhaul, I CAN NEVER RECOVERY MY LOSS.

The location where my storage unit was located told me they were overbooked and had no units available. When I asked where I was supposed to store my stuff they literally shrugged their shoulders at me. I asked them to call and find me another storage facility and they refused to help. I even asked who I needed to call to get a storage unit and I was told I could find the number on my reservation. The people were absolutely no help and had a very poor attitude. They absolutely refused to help me in any way and simply said, “ that’s how it is when they over book us.” This has been the absolute worst moving experience I’ve ever had. I will never use uhaul again and I have told all my friends and family about this experience.

We moved our stuff out of the unit on February 26, 2022, and the unit wasn’t closed out like it was supposed to be. It only got closed out on March 10th after they called asking for payment. Also, when I reserved a smaller unit. I was told that we would get the money back for the bigger unit or it would transfer over to the new unit, but was told on March 10th that they don’t pro-rate. Uhaul needs to have consistent policies from everyone.

The staff was great and the facility was well maintained. The surrounding area is the issue. There’s been shootings nearby and break ins at the location. There are no flat carts due to theft. I could not get my Christmas tree out this year. (It’s very large and heavy and needs a flat cart). I had 24 hour access but as the rates went up and crime went up, I moved to somewhere that I feel safe bringing my four year old daughter with me. I witnessed arguments on site with customers and was approached by some sketchy people. The murder in the complex next door was the final straw. Great facility but the location became dangerous.

My rating would’ve been a five (5) star rating, but due to unforeseen policy changes in operating hours I am forced to leave a two (2) star rating because of the inconvenience that it has caused me. What is the whole point of having a storage unit that you cannot access during business hours when you work those same business hours. It just doesn’t make any sense. And then to be charged the full amount every month, also doesn’t make any sense and is not fair to the customer. Very dissatisfied with the experience.

I have used this facility for years and have never had an issue. I have had a storage unit for the past 5 years that has changed in size more than 5 times and the switch over was seamless and smooth. I have also rented a truck/van from them about 10 times. Every vehicle and transaction was great! I recently closed my storage unit due to a move out of the area which resulted in an extra charge on my card due to an oversight. I called the location to report the issue and was credited within 2 hours including an email and phone call apology. I recommend this place for any and all storage and moving truck situations!

The management is terrible. The management on day shift is rude and unhelpful. I arrived and was told to remove the car from the carport was $75.00 dollars. I have never had to pay in other states. I then was asking for help to remove them myself, and a employee on night shift did not even tell me a chain was still on the vehicle, and was going to let me back up with it on. I asked him why he stated ( I forgot) (really!) I was then told the next day that it was only $35.00 dollars to remove the car. (WOW!) Then I moved out of storage on the proper date 11/22/21 and it was never done. I had to drive a hour to make sure as the management said. I was going to do it. After repeating phone calls to UHaul. South Lake Tahoe (Emerald Bay) general manager was rude and disrespectful. The assistant manager had no idea what he was doing, and refused to help out. Stated everyone was new. When arrived at Seattle, WA Federal Way location. The management stated it was $75 dollars to release my car from the auto transport. Next day it was $30. (WOW) I had no idea Uhaul treated their customers this way. So I guess next time will be Budget rentals and hopefully better treatment.

Employees need more training or support to provide efficient and effective customer service. They are courteous but incompetent and nearly every step of my experience was delayed and required me to return to the counter to get their mistakes fixed. Errors occurred with storage and moving truck that delayed my move in AND move out and I was never offered any apologies or concessions except for when calling the customer service number. Diana at customer service was very helpful and effective.

This STORAGE area Customer Bathroom broken entire time, the staff at this location was VERY mediocre except Daniel and Michael, a Boss. I was assigned #1986 which has an outside personal lock on it they couldn't have removed asap, the next best location was in #2051 even further away (I have Disabilities from Car accidents so walking too far is torture) but this unit was too small but by this time , this location was closed. The After hours Call center Rep couldn't Reserve a new bigger spot because the store was closed. (What????!!!**""). They never recommended reserving online, either. I found out the next day my own online reservation for a bigger unit wasn't avail in this location because someone else had reserved it for 2 weeks out and it's 1st come, 1st RESERVED. Now these issues had been going on for 3 days and I had to keep my 15' van overnight for 3 extra days to remove my belongings but was never able to fully do it (at this location) so I found another Storage unit (that wasn't a U-Haul) closer to our home. When I went in to turn in my access card and request my-UNUSED but out of the package- Padlock (at the Federal Way, WA store) because I didn't need it anymore, I was accused of not buying the padlock (I proved it was bought on the #1986 unit) but still couldn't return it as it had no packaging. Nor did these 2 guys even CARE that I was leaving for another company. Wait for it, there's more ....the rental of my 15' Van for local for 1 day around town was charged $167, not the advertised $29.95/ day. $40 was added each day that I couldn't offload my stuff from the Van. I also needed my SUV stored but it's a 4x4 and Customer service tried to rent me a tow dolly that would've damaged my 4x4. I'm not making this stuff up. I've had THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT THIS FEDERAL WAY, WA U-HAUL LOCATION. AVOID IT AT ALL COST!!!!

Door access card swipe machines don’t work properly. Hot summer made them malfunction. Made night time access hard to get in. We had to pay for a second day truck rental, because it took hours to get in at night. Other than that, it was clean and well maintained.

I got stuck in construction traffic moving across the state so I showed up 13 minutes before closing. The first guy seemed helpful initially but completely apathetic that the movers I booked through Uhaul no-showed me. He gave me a unit that still had a lock on it, so not so helpful after all. I had to go back for a different unit but they had just closed so the guy tried to ignore me. I banged on the door till another guy showed up and found me another 5x10 unit. I was told I wasn’t allowed to park my truck rental on site overnight while I figured out how to unload it without movers. …The locked storage unit was still in the system as available the next day so it will happen to the next customer…. I didn’t get instructions on how to use the 2 entry keypads but staff seemed annoyed or condescending the next morning when my attempts failed and I asked for help. Turns out the access doors still weren’t unlocked an hour and a half after business opened so it wasn’t operator error. They only unlocked one set of doors at the unloading zone or the other doors were broken. 2 out of 5 people gave appropriate customer service and basic courtesy. Careless or incompetent staff made a hard move a whole lot harder.

I am very upset. I was under the impression that my move-out date was the end of the month just like when you rent other spaces. I expected that the fee I just paid in advance for the next month would be prorated back in a credit...so that I would only have paid for 3 days of the month. It's totally WRONG for Uhaul to keep more than $100 for days that are unused. When I tried to talk to the staff about it they said it's just Uhaul policy not to rebate pre-paid fees. Security issue: Middle age female on side walk outside the main doors to storage, walked in through the open main entrance doors when others came and went. She was nervously looking around, so I continued to watch her from outside our rental truck. She lifted up one torche' lamp and started to walk away with it. She saw me watching and motioned, "oh, is this yours?". She put it down, came outside and said, "oh, I thought these were free." If I hadn't been standing outside watching her, lamps would have been stolen. I did report it to the office.

i am unable to verify my storage unit details online after setting up my account. it appears the staff may have signed me up for two units after i viewed one and decided it was too small and asked to rent a larger unit instead, not in addition. There were also problems with the key card for access which the staff was unable to fix. The site is fine but the delivery of service is lacking.

The storage unit i was assigned was in the very back of the building and a huge walk from the offload. I am disabled and before I even opened the locker, I went back into the store part, explained my situation and asked for.something close to the door. He gave me two smaller units that he said were close, but they were just as far. Half way down and then all the way over to the end of the building. Also I tried opening my locker and the alarm went off every time so I couldn't open it. I had no way to physically get my stuff in there. I gave up and went to a different self storage company down the street and cancelled uhaul storage.

I Loved my overall experience with Uhal-storage, the only problem that I had is the lien fee which is put on your account and can't be reversed. Because the large storage is not covered under the move-in-special, I had to get two small units so I could use the move-in special. this means when my hours where cut I did not have to come up with one fee of $108. but two. I know that everyone as well as business are suffering during this time, but you asked so I thought I would share, and if you would like to bless me with a refund of the $216. I will receive it (smile). Again I love your hours of entry they are perfect and the cleanliness of your storages are amazing. Thank you and I would use your services again but my prayers are that I never have to experience homelessness ever again in life.... maybe the experience will be just to store a overflow of items.. My concern is pest invasion. My belongings were stored for three years and didn't have carpet beetles when first stored. Upon removing my belongings, carpet beetles were discovered in the unit. Also, there was some kind of construction that caused dirt (soil) to fall into the unit, which had to be cleaned off of some belongings. A recycle bin for boxes would be appreciated.

We emptied the unit the day before the next payment was due and asked the staff what we needed to do to check out. They claimed all we needed to do was leave the door open on the empty unit and our contract would be cancelled. We have not received multiple notices of past due amounts and threats to lien the unit, which is empty for failure to pay. Phone calls and emails to U-haul explaining the problem and saying they would fix it have not worked as of yet.

Michael was really great, after a very negative experience at the Auburn facility we were so happy to end on such a positive note. Check in was a breeze, loading the storage unit, with the help of the dollies easier than we would have thought and return of the rental van was efficient. Thank you for a no hassle experience.

Initially renting the unit took longer than it should have. I spent more than a half hour, when I was the only person there. I had no issues while my stuff was in storage. When I removed all of my items, I was moved out without my knowledge when I still had 10 days left of my paid rental. It is a little nice that I didn't have to return to move out, but I was not notified about it. So I still returned and was confused when my card didn't work. I got this move out survey about my "recent patronage" but no email, text, or voicemail about having been moved out. I was told they called, but I've never had a business not leave a voicemail when the phone isn't answered. The survey email didn't say it was about moving out, so I didn't know until I clicked the link for the survey. If I had wanted to use the last 10 days of my storage, that right was taken away from me without my consent, and it's unacceptable.
