Had a bad experience. Someone had tampered with the fuel tank and when we went to fuel up to drop the truck off $40 worth of gas spilled out were responsible for paying for gas we never got. I spent over $380 on the truck and then went to fuel up and was made to pay for $40. We never got.

When I picked up the 10 foot van all the ten foots vans where parked on a 45 degree angle to the fence facing Wilson St that I thought all I had to do was back up then go around ustore building to get back out to Taunton road but as I came around to the north west corner of the building the way to Taunton was blocked by the 26 foot U-Haul vans and the space between the 26 foot vans and the ustore building was to small to drive me 10 rental around the corner with out hitting the concrete block that was there . So I had to back the van back around the building to get turned around and off to Taunton Rd If my 10 foot rental had been back into its parking spot and not driven in like all the 10 foot van where it would have been a simple drive out and off your U-Haul lot with a lot less stress for me

Rented a 26FT truck. Make sure to check and add oil before your trip. Buy a funnel to add oil, or use your own because they will not pay for it. Buy oil ahead of time if it is a long trip. It used 5W-30. I used 2 liters for 1600km. The truck was low on oil when I got it. Check it yourself. I could have added another liter for sure but was returning the truck.

Your mileage charges are high. Other companies in the Durham region give you from 200-500km included. Yes you pay a bit more for the vehicle but it works out cheaper in the end . I rented from advantage and the cost was $200 with 500km. The cost with U-Haul would have been over $500.

Your place of business is very cluttered and your trailer size is misleading as your gate opening is not to size with the true dimensions of the trailer which created an unsuccessful pickup as we needed the full width of the trailer to be able to load so because the trailer has corners that extend into the bed of the trailer which we didnt realize at the time of pickup we noticed after pickup an hour later that we couldnt use it and had to drive it back over an hour away by then its been over 3 hours since we picked it up and had to return the unused trailer and pay for it plus additional expenses to have my item delivered. Addressed with staff they knew the trailer had changed to this Floorplan but didn't advise that at the time of pickup as I would have done something differently or cancelled/or changed my reservation to something that would work.

I drove many km out of my way to drop off and got the run around from the drop off at the Esso that had no fuel. And the pick-up was much farther than expected. Then I get fined for extra fuel $35. At the end from the drop off at an Esso that has no fuel.

Trailer was old, weather, terribly noisy when pulling down a bumpy road. No tie down rings in the front of the trailer(broken), sole purpose of rental was motorcycle transportation. Took very an hour to determine a way to secure a motorcycle without attachment points.

The experience I had was not very good as I had to wait over 1/2 hour for my rental. The system was down which I get was not their fault but there was only one employee taking care of a line up of customers and my rental was covered in snow and ice and not ready.

I should have been advised to take a photo of the gas tank level before leaving with the rental van. I was charged $6.50 (not a big deal) although I refilled carefully and I was certain it did not returned under. I had no time to argue and felt disappointed. Again 6 bucks may not seem a big deal but is the principle of pinching the client who is disappointing.

The front desk staff were amazing. When picking up and dropping off. BUT, as I pulled into the yard and waited at the equipment return area for 5 minutes. A man in the yard walked up to me and told me I needed to leave and wash the trailer before returning it. He tried to walk away and I asked him a simple question. "Sir we are in the middle of a snow storm and plows have not touched any surfaces, if I leave a wash it, I will be bringing back in the same condition as the roads are not plowed. Do you not agree?" He responded he didn't care ,it states it in the rental contract. He simply walked away from me. I went inside and told the lady behind the counter what had happened, she was kind and totally understood. She herself came out and unhooked the trailer. All along she want to make sure the rental went as smooth as possible. The lady that helped is #1 for customer service. The man in the yard will lose you business with his, I don't care attitude.

The entire place was packed with men (5) waiting in line . I was the only female . The customer service rep was extremely nice to the man ahead of me , answering all of his questions and spending lots of time . Once I got to the front , he was so rude and short and just telling me where to sign and not caring about anything I asked . I felt rushed and brushed off and it annoyed me so much . As a women , I still have the same needs !!! The drop off was way better , nicer women greeted me and man took my van to end the transaction

The storage unit was great for accessibility when needed and was a good price for something that was needed quickly. The only thing was there was no light for the particular unit I rented so was a little difficult to see inside the rented storage unit. Arrived after hours so no option to speak to anyone, so had to do this all through the mobile check in. No lock with the unit, though I was told there was one. Luckily I brought my lock from my other storage unit so it worked out nicely. Would have been a huge pain if I didn't bring my lock. When returning the truck we almost dropped the keys in the key drop without reading the notice above the key drop, asking us to take pictures of the truck. There was no light on this area so we almost missed this VERY important/required step of the truck return process (this was about 11PM, so very dark). Please install a light so we can see this signage before keys are accidentally dropped.

I use the storage unit for 6 years. In all that time I had only issues in the beginning with my automatic payment. It did take some time but they were resolved because of the diligence of the staff there. I did not choose to pay the extra fee to access my unit after 5 p.m. I felt the fees were high enough that that should be included. Like I said staff was great head office mediocre. I would recommend this storage site Thank you

I had to through away a lot of my things because there was evidence that there was rats in my storage unit. I have pictures. I reported it to the staff Saturday March 19th, 2022. And no one has contacted me about it at all. I need to be re-embursed for all the stuff that I've lost. For a company that's been around so long and that is so popular, I expected better.

No lock provided as mentioned in the self move in email/text. I had to buy one from the office. There was no loading ramp to pull the cart into the building. Lifting the cart at the step was difficult.

I make a reservation two weeks in advance for a 26 foot truck. They didn't have any 26 foot so I ended up with a 20 ft that I got from Whitby. I am moving out of a 5 bedroom house and that was very inconvenient as we have to make multiple trips which takes longer. On top of that I rented a storage and was denied access at mins after 7pm. I called customer service they can't help. I got the managers number no answer. I am still stuck at m house with the truck full of my stuff because no access to the storage that I paid for.very disappointed 😒 😑 😔and I have to close the deal on my house today November 1st at 11:30, still stuck with a truck load in the driveway and I am not finish moving my stuff because of this. Big blow to my head I'm very stress . Thanks uhaul for bringing my stress level up.

Very friendly, helpful staff. It was a pleasant experience!! Natalie was very helpful. Unloaded my truck and trailer by myself, I was exhausted at the end and needed assistance with my 55’ TV. She didn’t hesitate and helped me! I was so grateful for her help. She was friendly and gave me excellent customer service, along with the other gentleman who helped unhitch my trailer and inspect the truck. The Taunton rd location is a very clean, organized, friendly, team oriented place!! Very pleased with the overall experience!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unhappy with the Storage unit access system, Payed extra to access my storage 24/7 but still wouldn’t let me get to my storage after hours, Happened twice and had traveled from over 250kms away to access the storage with rental vans but with no help from either the customer service nor the manager, I was given a 50$ gift card which is nothing compared to my loss for renting the vans and the inconvenience of travel. THERE IS NO AFTER HOUR SERVICE.

I called this location prior to booking the storage unit to confirm that I would qualify for the first month free and was told I would if I presented a reservation number for my uhaul truck rental. I also called the Ajax location prior to, as that one was closer to me, but they confirmed they aren’t running this promotion so I booked with this location instead. When I showed up at the counter to check-in I was declined the one month free and was told to pay the first month immediately. I had no choice as I was paying movers by the hour and we had already showed up at the location! So I paid but I will be putting in a complaint with head office and the better business bureau. Also, upon moving into the storage facility, I witnessed another storage unit owner going through their unit and laughing as a mouse ran out of one of the boxes. The storage unit was packed with junk so it comes as no surprise it would be harbouring rodents! The staff and condition of this uhaul storage facility are one in the same - below average!

The lock was not in the unit as the instructions noted, but I made a quick trip to the office and the associate there was happy to help. All around, the service was quick and the associate was very courteous.

I booked on line and got the confirmation number as well for 15 x 10 x 8 storage starting January 1st 2021 but when I went on January 2nd to move my items, girl at the desk said that it’s not available and offered me 10 x 10 x 8 and she said that is the only available. There was no other choice for me and had to store some of my items in my friends grage. Very disappointed.

Very expensive compared to other places. Only took it for the free month plus the fact all the other places were closed for the holiday weekend. It was also convenient as I had to return the truck. It took forever to do the paperwork though considering I had done it on the phone when I reserved it. Thank God the staff was absolutely phenomenal which made it a bit better

This was the worse uhaul service I have ever received being a long time valued Uhaul customer. Brendon the staff at Oshawa location was not helpful but extremely rude. Even after having reserved a 10x15 storage at Oshawa location two weeks in advance of Apr 16, 2020, the Oshawa location did not have a unit. I had to go back and forth 1.5 hours due to Brandons incompetency. Furthermore, he insulted us in front of the other customers and kicked us out of the store. I will be escalating this to the top of Uhaul and cbc news channel. Additionally, this is the last time I'm doing business with Uhaul. I'll be also advising friends and family to not conduct business with any Uhaul location. Myself as a valued customer expects to be treated with respect but this was not the case especially at a time like this during the covid-19.

There were crack users and meth dealers in the halls, people sleeping by my unit. This place was terrifying and no security. The company (a guy who worked there even found it amusing) he laughed and said ya look at all the crackheads..... I'm shocked and disappointed by this. I will wait 2 weeks before sending my video viral for the world to see as well as my 50000 followers for items and places I review. I paid a lot of money for a unit I couldn't access. My unit was broken into despite being sold a lock that " no one could breach" When I was called to be informed of this break in, i was told that my unit door was open and the unit was empty, the caller said " I assume you or a member of your family has emptied the unit". I told him that was not the case; he was not helpful. Only later did I learn that my unit was not emptied by thieves.
