If a customer makes a reservation online, there should be a different line to wait in . I had to wait 15 minutes to get to the register to pickup my vehicle. The app is supposed to make it convenient for the customer. I wasn’t in a rush and didn’t mind the wait but what is the point in using the app to save time? It seemed to benefit U-Haul and not me

The lady that handled my trailer request was awesome. Very professional but also very nice to deal with. I'm sure she would have preferred to not walk out in the rain to show my trailer but she did so with a smile and a wonderful attitude. Also she happened to still be there when brought back and she checked it in for me with a smile and a kind word. I wish I could remember her name. She deserves recognition for excellent customer service. However, I believe she was the only one there at the desk so it may be easy for you to find out!

So I made a reservation for a U-Haul on 2/16/2023, for 2/18/2023, I didn’t receive a phone call that was the first thing, I made it a thing to call and no one answered! So when I got to the location the rental and equipment I had rented wasn’t available, she upgraded me and charged me , so I left with a 15” truck and no way to tow my car so it’s left in Charlotte!!! I then call to get reimbursed for the inconvenience all I got was 55.00 dollars but that and the 100 dollars which that was a given that would be refunded to me, I then wasn’t satisfied, so they then said that the Marketing team would reach out to in 24-72 hours, I received no call I had to track them down and still didn’t speak to them messages was relayed between the representative to them & they didn’t seem as if they want to even give me the 50.01. So in all I received 50.01 for the inconvenience of the location and the situation I was left in with this matter ! I’m still hiding upset because it’s Friday and I still don’t have my car !

I moved from New York to South Carolina and from the beginning, all the way to the delivery in South Carolina, U-Haul was excellent!!! Didn’t matter who I spoke with they were knowledgeable, kind, understanding and professional. I cannot say enough about the whole experience. It made the whole move seamless. My apartment in South Carolina was not ready as promised and U-Haul made it easy by just keeping all my stuff in storage. I highly recommend U-Haul!

Sending confirmation emails or text when a ubox has been pulled and ready to access would help. I tried calling to confirm and was placed on hold each time. Hold time was over 10 minutes . A simple confirmation would be great to avoid having to call at all. Hope this helps

I sent them a picture of gas tank being half way just like when I took it. I was charged for not bringing it back with the same mileage. I won’t be coming back I hate feeling like I’ve been scammed. It’s your word vs there’s so they can keep the money but I’m not coming back I’ll just go somewhere else if I need a truck. SMH

This was my first time using a Ubox. It was a good experience overall. The container was a little smaller than I thought it would be but I was able to get all of my things in it. Delivery and pick up on both ends was great. My belongings were not damaged and still exactly like,I had put them in the container.

The following should be taking care a little bit more. Van needed to be cleaner. There was a lot of mud on the drive side. Also I drove about 7-8 miles less than expected. When I took the keys to the register, the guy said that money will be refunded back since you didn't use the 7-8 miles. The last thing is that there is fees on top of fees. I rented a 19.00 dollar vehicle but with fees and everything it keep up costing 88 dollars. Plus 10 dollars in gas.

At pickup First two vehicles wouldn't start. When I returned the third vehicle the online app took the milage and only allowed one photo of the Interior cab before it kicked me out so, I went inside and stood for about five minutes before any of the three representatives behind the counter even acknowledged that I was in the Facility. I expressed my issue and there was a stare as if I was from another planet. She took the key and was like we got it no receipt was given no one moved to check the truck in to make matters worse when I checked online to make sure the Truck was checked back in the quoted rate of $.79 per mile when I got the first Truck that wouldn't start had been changed to $.99 per mile on the third truck which actually started that morning.

No flexibility for one off events that are uncontrollable. Not even any support, just a word of tough luck. Also the mileage used for the rate I was charged was 30% off which likely drove up the price of my one way rental. U-Haul is a monopoly and should be shamed publicly for holding people hostage.

In the beginning I had no problems, until my unit was robbed and I didn’t receive any help from the staff. When asked to pull the tape I was told that the location had no camera. And the camera that was facing my unit had been covered. I filed a police report, and ultimately I have gotten nowhere and it appears I’m making this up. I wouldn’t make up a story about my gun being stolen and suspicious behavior from a certain staff. I had a lot of respect for this place until that happen. I am now out of a gun, speaker, and some other personal items. The employees failed to make sure all the units were secure and that all cameras were properly working with no obstruction. I am highly disappointed especially after renting for two years. Thank you for the service but I will not be returning or referring this place.

Terrible customer service. The lady gave me a unit that belonged to someone else.. it takes about 10min to get to the storage unit and find it just to find out it has a lock on it and belongs to someone else. They close at 7pm so nobody could help not even customer service. Huge inconvenience because now the people I had helping me is upset and don’t knw when they can finish the job. It’s just not right. You had 1 job to knw which units are empty and which aren’t.

Staff employees were very rude. Staff did not know how to input a reservation in the system. Employees block the entrance way of the storage building with uhaul trucks, which took an hour to locate my storage unit which caused me to bring my U-Haul truck back a day late.

This location gave me several papers that were not mine and laughed it off that they almost gave out confidential paperwork including business financials and other customer receipts. This location did not properly enter my access code to the building and we were locked out and unable to unload our truck. I called the location the next morning after a 6 hour drive- and they told me that I was “entering my code wrong” however I was not and myself and 3 other people tried entering the pin. There were other customers there who were able to get into the building with their code and showed me how and yet I was still unable to get inside. Nakita from the location told me on the phone after I called the morning after being locked out that someone else-another customer- should have just let me into the building. Another customer did let me inside and when we opened our unit door, the alarm for the entire building went off. We are extremely unhappy with our experience, I will be leaving a review, and contacting corporate.

My experience here was poor in factor only, customer service. The staff that was working were having full conversations and sharing content in their phones with each other with customers waiting for help. But the worst was that I received a notification from U-Haul indicating that I could receive a free lock on moving day after I completed checking in online.When I tried I got a message indicating that I could not check in online and had to check in at the store I took a screenshot and showed them this, the girl helping me turned to the person next to her and said I was the second person with this issue. I was told to make a second reservation and try again then I got the exact same error the person who verified this error was someone named Nikita winters who I believe was the manager. When I asked what we should do next to honor the free lock I was promised she smirked and said “what am I supposed to do about it” with a condescending tone and when I asked if she could honor it she said “I don’t control things and are you expecting me to do something about the website? I’m not the website” she turned to her peer and just started laughing about the situation. I ended up buying a lock but will be calling customer service to demand a refund. There is zero reason to treat a new client the way I was treated. The employees seemed more interested in being on their phones than helping drive business

I have been using uhaul services ever year since my kid has been in college. Year 1 - no issue, year 2 issue(rat urine and feces ruined a lot of stuff. Year 3 -no issue. This year, the person was doing a hard sell trying to convince us to take a larger storage unit. I also asked about the free lock offer that was sent to my phone. She told me in order to get that offer, I would need to pay online. She has a lock in her hand, I asked is that lock free. She said no. I told her that i do not need a lock. She pushes back and says, you need a round lock. I said, I have one. She also brought out a map to attempt to sway me to choose a more expensive unit. I did not appreciate this location’s tactics.

I am still having issues closing out my account, Someone came buy to take lock off storage and gave the key card to manager on duty. I’ve received a bill for next month we’re told that it wasn’t closed out yet I speak to manager. When I call back manager not there or get rerouted. I’ve spoken with a work two weeks ago and toll them if I not able to come back myself I will send another to close out the storage unit. They taken everything the could out and left the rest, took the look off and gave to manager on duty. It’s the same young lady that checked up into the unit. For health reason mom had to move to California at short notice, we taken out majority of everything except paintings new kitchen table bench, gaming chair, a few other stuff it’s almost empty except for those items left behind. The last worker told me it may/ may not be a cleaning out fee of $50.00. Unit 1520 has already moved out since 04/10/2023, thanks.

Started off rough, when I tried to check into my reservation (booked 2 weeks in advance) the associate informed me that my unit was already sold… for some unknown reason, the system told him they had 10 available units of my size, with 3 reservations (mine included ) but he had just sold the last one right before me… luckily the lady checked it out and seen it was too small for her so she upgraded… but even though I reserved my unit in advance, I almost didn’t have one and would’ve been forced to pay extra for a bigger unit.. but after that, everything else went smoothly and easy … employees very helpful and friendly

While the storage area smells nice, there were broken carts. Dips and chips in the floors making it difficult to roll the carts that did work. Staff never answers the phone when you call. Lastly, it is advised inside that the unit I have is 84.95 however I am being charged 94.95.

There systems were down but they still went out of their way to assist everyone. I made two reservations online but one of them was for the wrong unit that didn’t show up correctly. The manager corrected the problem as well as gave me a free month because of the price difference as well. Both the manager and clerk was professional and nice. Everything was excellent! But I am missing my son's 54 inch television that was still in the box. I had it for a year and half. It wasn't in the storage unit when I moved my belongings out. My 65 inch was there...I'm not going to press the issue because someone could've stole it helping me move a year and a half ago. Overall Service was excellent!!!!!!

When we tried to check in the storage unit, the unit we were given had a lot of stuff in it. The access card didn’t work and set off the alarm. We were given an actual empty unit that was ready for move-in after an hour or so wait. The whole process took about two hours. It was very inefficient. The staff did their best to be friendly but they were obviously overwhelmed with limited staffing at the counter.

My daughter drove back to school with my team to help her move items out of the storage and into her college dorm. There was a double lock on the unit for nonpayment, but the storage had been paid every month and was current. We couldn’t get into the unit at 10am when they arrived because nobody was available to remove the second lock y’all had left there and never removed. They had to wait until close to 1pm, which means it was a 3 hour set back and made my daughter move in lat me into her dorm, had my team late coming back to Atlanta, and cost us money. I will never tell college parents to use your faculty again.

The initial staff member assisting me was unable to find my reservation and even struggled to enter payment information. A more competent staff member had to take over the transaction. Additionally, the loading zone is massive but there were no carts to make loading more efficient. When asked about this, the initially helpful staff member said to "search the complex, there are lots of carts." Despite the fact that the statement itself screams poor customer service, it was also a lie. I searched the whole space and the only carts available were mattress carts. Not very useful when moving boxes and totes. If moving weren't so inconvenient in general I would have found another vendor after today's performance.

I am a Below the Knee Amputee,with a prosthetic leg, I purchased one of your smaller storage units that sit on top of each other, for some reason the clerk gave me the top unit where I couldn't reach the rope to close the door and after I used my fishing rods that I was storing to reach the rope and got the door closed, it was impossible for me to reach the lock, This was very upsetting because I felt it was done on purpose, she could clearly see my prosthetic leg

I had a reserved a 10x10 storage area three weeks ago and called 5 days before the start date to confirm the availability. However after driving for 3 days from NYC to Charlotte in a one way U-Haul rental, I was told upon arrival that no 10x10 storage was available. The manager was able to find a 10x15 so it worked out but I was disappointed that a confirmed reservation could not be honored. This calls into question any reservation made with U-Haul.

The storage unit was not advertised correctly. The 5x5x10 and the 5x10x10 are priced exactly the same and the photos of both listings show a 5x10x10 unit. So as this being my first time renting a unit I assumed they were the same. They were not and I needed a 5x10x10 unit. The girl was very helpful in cancelling my unit since the size I actually needed was not available. This was frustrating because we had to extend our moving truck for a day until we could find a new unit somewhere else.

The customer service was great! I was not happy once I got to the storage room. It was to far around the back for me, then it was too far from the entrance. But to top that off, when I opened the storage room (1310) it had a black box (rodent catcher) inside of it. That was my biggest problem with my storage room. I can't do rodents at all. I was told it is required in the state of NC for all storages to have; but not true because I have a current storage rental that do not have the black box. The employee told me it was not for rats, it was for the bugs that would come from another unit. Either way, I can't do rodent's or bugs, so I was not happy about the storage rental, so I cancelled my rental of the room.

Although Alicia was pleasant, I had a storage unit(1901) at this location for about almost 3 years. Somehow my lock got cut off my storage unit door and a green tag was put on the door of my unit and per the system, I had moved out the unit. Which I didn’t move my stuff. I’m not sure if any of my stuff is missing but when I move out the unit I will inform management. I will be moving my stuff soon.

During my tenure, the management changed hands and during that time my storage space got infested and my insurance claim was rejected for my loss. A few months later the management did repair the issues of my space and did allot me time to retrieve my items. While my bill was comp'd, I still got phone calls and emails for bill payment. I ignore them, but it is so annoying 🙄. The time frames and communication, and maintenance were not professional, but the attendants were very nice about it. I am grateful for what I could retain, but due to the amount of infestation, I did not trust the idea of nests inside of my electrical equipment and was still rendered a major loss from my perspective 💔.

The staff at Charlotte location were unfriendly and did not want to help at all even the call center or whoever they transferred to was unfriendly. they didn't leave a loading dolly and packing pads which we ordered and paid for anyways before I left a comment called and talked but no help there either. I can go on and on but what's the point. Didn't get my money back. The third party loaders they were the worst they took 6 hours for a 2 bed room. The foremen said don't tell my boss just pay us directly, very unprofessional, I understand they get paid by the hour but this is not the right way. Never had such bad experience. left a bad taste. Second time with U Haul and will be the last time ever. I can go on but no point nobody cares. so I am going to leave it here. The Worst customer service ever.

I turned in an online move out on the 13th of October due to no one being at the front desk when we stopped by on the way off site. On the 24th of October, I am receiving emails regarding my bill... I was told walk thru's were to be completed on the property daily; which clearly isn't happening or I wouldn't have received an email reminding me of a bill. I have called this site multiple times to confirm my move out, of 6 calls, 1 was answered. Terrible. Would not recommend to anyone.

I have never been treated so bad in my life as a customer until now from Cindy Madison in the Statesville store on Boxmeer dr charlotte nc . The regional manager name Buck was so bad saod that he was calling the police if o called with a question as to why he kept cancelling my reservations. These folks wete aweful and they repesent a brand that we all use UHAUL!! This should not be swot under the rug becayse people should not be treated this way...I want to soeak with corporate!!!

Cindy Madison is one of the most honest and dedicated moving and storage specialists I have ever met in my life. She customized and arranged a plan of service for me without having met me in person, and using only information about my needs provided by phone and email. When I arrived, the arrangement for my Ubox service needs was already made available. All I can say is I wish I would have transfered to this location months ago when I was feeling stuck and hopeless at a previous location. I hope Uhaul will have customer support specialists contact customers every 3 weeks to see if relocation is what they need, as remaining àt a location that is causing one problems usually never results in problems being resolved.

First the staff member assigned me to a unit that had someone else's lock on it. So we had to wait for her to assign me a new one. She told me I could bring my own lock. Then I went in to grab something yesterday and there was a second lock added to our unit by the Uhaul team. We called the front desk to ask why and have it removed when a second staff member said that the first lady never switched our storage unit in the system. So I was late to work because I had to wait for the last to come and unlock the unit. She then informed me that I was not allowed to only have my own lock and that I would have to use Uhauls lock as well. Needless to say this was a bad first impression the company has made on me.

Got there and was told I'd have to take 4 much smaller units which caused me to unfortunately have to get rid of some of my furniture. Then the guy had the nerve to tell me i couldn't dispose of the furniture on the property when there was a huge mess of a dump in the back. A buch of I don't knows and we can't do thats. Incompetence all around. Extremely disappointing and i would like to be made whole but i bet I'd get another we can't do that.

I reserved a unit online, to reserve it you had to leave a deposit and I did. The day of moving in after packing a 27 foot truck, they had no information regarding my reservation. Thank God I took a picture of my reservation with my cell phone and it was saved in my phone. I provided them with my name and they pretended they didn't see the information. I provided them with the reservation number and now they were able to see the information. I was told, they did not have the unit I reserved. Therefore, they said they would provide me with a unit that equal up to what I reserved. I was completely satisfied until I attempted to move in the unit and the size did not equal to the size I was promised. So we had to take the items back home because the office was closed and the size did not fit my items. I rented the truck for 1 day therefore, I had to return the truck the next morning. We all know moving is a nightmare. I had night terrors with Uhaul. I called 1-800-go-uhaul and spoke with customer service and provided them with my experience and asked for the CEO's information, the representative asked me to call the location before I contact. After reading the information from Uhaul, asking me to try to resolve any disputes before leaving a feedback. I called and on hold for 25 minutes. I can't.

My storage unit was filled with cockroaches and water bugs upon leaving. I moved in on April 24th, 2021 and moved out on June 15th 2021. My items were not even in storage for a full 60 days. We alerted the property due to the infestation. Now I am worried about having brought bugs into my new home and needing extermination services. Unfortunately, my experience was the worst. I had two different purposes to be there and both times were horrible. The staff do no care about Customer Service each time they attempted to charge me extra for something. The customer care line says they will inform the manager and to expect a call no one ever does. Its like they think resolving the problem with out confirmation is ok. In my time I communicated my actions for my move out date on the 17th. I still received a bill so I called CC told them I had moved as I had called the main line 3x already with on answer and still was charged w late fee. If you want to do business with a location that doesn't answer the phone by all means have it it!

I paid for 24hr access yet was never granted access by the door where u swipe ur card after 7pm. Moving out was paranoid. It’s dark in the area and right in the middle of the hood. It was simple and fast to RENT. UHaul took and accepted my money VERY quickly. I am at the convenient Drop off location and have been sent now 3 places for over 1.5 hours. UHaul does NOT want to take back the trailer before they close. I can NOT do any of this next day work say and have many things to do. This is a major headache and inconvenience to drop of this trailer. Many phone calls and wasted time. This would be a zero rating if it had numbers.

supposedly had 24 hr access but we couldn't get into our unit. All of the doors were locked even tho my card worked. You need more than one person working the desk on weekends. Then we discovered a 2nd lock on our unit & had to wait again to get it off, no one knew why it was on there. The girl working that weekend was very nice and helpful.

It’s very expensive to rent a storage unit, and I feel as if the storage unit is not used an entire month there should be a pay differential. As customers we have to go back and make sure we did damage anything as well as clean it before returning the storage unit or truck. For example the unit I had was $104 a month with taxes, I turned my unit in maybe a week and a half earlier and just from doing my math if you all offered a pay differential I should had received at the most $40 back which like most people it could really be used. The GM at the location even gave me false information saying he could give me a price differential as well as the wrong instructions to check out the storage unit.

Rental of the truck was fine. Communication on the arrival of our UBox was terrible. Only my phone calls were able to make it available for us to access. You need to work on communications.

U Box ship from SD to NC. Horrible experience trying to get the box once it arrived in NC. Could not be delivered for 2 weeks after it got here. They are extremely unorganized. Will never use again
