This is my 3rd UHaul rental this year, each for more than 3 days and 200 miles. This was a disappointing rental. The location service and staff were the best that I dealt with. They were friendly and efficient at pickup and drop-off. The vehicle was in poor condition. It had been cleaned, but the general wear and tear of the cab was well below expectations - and my expectations are just not that high. The ignition was loose, making starting and shutting off the vehicle without leaving it in accessory position an adventure. The parking brake release did not work properly and had to be worked at each time you engaged that brake - I was very concerned I would be stranded. The engine has a flutter at idle, that periodically appeared on the highway. The air bag malfunction light was on, so likely the airbag was not functional. The sun visor was sagging into the driver's field of view, and could not be adjusted. There were holes in the in the seats. The passenger door lock did not work from the outside - it looked like someone had broken into the vehicle once and it had been poorly repaired. This vehicle was not in a condition that was suitable for rent.

you need extra staff members to attend to All Equipment returns with out having to wait to long. it wasn't fair to your 2 employee that were helping to hitch a up a haul leaving the store unattended. And having 6 customers waiting for equipment returns for almost another 30 mins. I'm thankful the attendant gave us an apology.

It was all business both times I rented from that location same attitude just very submissive I ask a question and she answered while walking out the door I then asked for a paper receipt rather than a email and that aggravated her because know she needed to go back into the building to get it. It was a easy drop off but i would definitely avoid the Hartford location need to be more friendly

It took me 3 hours to get the truck that I had already booked from the remote pick up because of the system was down. It was terrible, the app and the website was not working and I almost cost the non-profit company I work for $500 that we didn't have in fees because I almost was unable to get the truck.

The only inconvenience is the availability of 1st floor units. Also, the return policy of vehicle returns. I pickup st Main Street location Hartford, CT. Had to rent storage at Capitol Ave. But was unable to return vehicle at that location had to return back Main Street 🤔 after moving all day.

I went in on Saturday to rent a storage space and after I looked at it and payed I had to cancel just for the fact that they knew the back doors where we bring things in throw wasn’t working they wanted me to bring all my big things throw the main doors and it’s big enough just for us to walk throw it! Thesebplace shouldn’t be open at if ya warehouse ain’t working right! Now I have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to get the refund and go somewhere else to get on!

As I declined insurance by Uhaul, I was asked to provide a proof of my own coverage. That was a logical question. The only problem was, it as not mentioned to me when I was filling our my reservation online. I was asked for insurance just before checking out, thus, there was an unnecessary delay. I should be advised to either purchase Uhaul coverage, or, be ready to provide a proof, when I was filling out the reservation online. Thks

I arrived at seven this morning, and nobody showed up until 30 minutes after it was supposed to be open. I made a reservation for a storage unit last night, past 7 PM because my move-in went on late. And the customer service representative didn’t mention that I wouldn’t be able to get the unit last night because it was past seven. Very frustrating experience. Overall, I would not recommend this to other people.

I reserved a storage space for a 2bedroom and when I arrived the storage unit was for a1 bedroom. They also had sent texts to my daughter phone instead of mine. We have different names and different phone numbers. I don't know how that happened. Plus you keep texting me about not being able to debit my account for storage. I don't have a storage with U-Haul. So why would you be trying to debit my account. No I wouldn't recommend this company to family or friends.

The Capitol Ave location in Hartford did not have a storage unit large enough to accommodate my property, so Kevin Skeete made a reservation for me at the Brainard Road location. When I arrived at the 40 Brainard Road location, I was told that the unit was unavailable and it could be days before a dumpster was available to clean it out. I had a truck with me at the time and movers in the vehicle waiting to offload. I had to go with Extra Space storage instead.

I have had bad business dealings with U-Haul in 2018 of over charging me in late fees,and also the last time I gave my card number to pay my storage bill, a young lady CSR back in Jan 2022, someone try to charge two grub hub charges for $64 and change each and they try to do some shopping online for $189 and some change, the only reason I know it was from someone who worked at U-Haul because it was a new càrd and that CSR was the only one I gave that number to. So no I will not be recommending no one to rent storage space because they hire dishonest employees. It just so happens that I have security protection on the card and all three transaction were declined and a hold was placed on my card until I notified the bank.

I requested a first floor storage space because I was storing many heavy boxes after hours. When I got to the facility around 9pm, the storage was on the second floor making it impossible to carry up the boxes. I could not use the storage. After two tries, local staff was able to cancel my reservation and return my payment.

People are dumping their furniture in front of the main access way. Not only does it make it inconvenient but it also make the storage look like a local dump. Your staff do a great job making it clean but that recycling idea that you guys got have to go because it simply turned into the local dump. 95% of the things that the people left is straight up GARBAGE that can not be salvage. Fix this problem immediately. Your staff do a great job of keeping the place clean.

Items had paint chips and white paint spray drops all over it as it seemed they painted above and around unit. Damage to anything that was not in box. Bins covered with paint.
