Hole in back cargo area upper ceiling. Dripping rainwater onto interior contents. Rained all day Saturday 3/2. Water drip from hole into the cargo area, soaking boxes. Original pick up location was changed and no phone call was received. Even though when we went there there were three trucks in the lot available was changed from Vienna to Reston.

The automated checkout was very difficult. The Uhaul app did not work. Had to call and use chrome browser. Took 45 minutes to get the truck!

I realize that each person is responsible for replacing the gas they use, but my truck was basically on empty. I put in 5 gal of gas and was fine, but this seems kind of shitty to put that burden on someone renting your equipment.

When I got van it's was not full gas even I informed counter staff and shown the pictures but when I returned the van I put 20$ gas as per company requirement I have to return full only for 22 miles I paid for 20$ for gas only this is stupid thing

Why do I check out the vehicle online to show up at the Uhaul Center and have to do everything all over again? I check out the vehicle online to save time. Makes no sense.

Was assessed a $25 cleaning fee for small amount of dirt found in the truck bed. I offered to try to clean it (I even offered to buy water to use in the cleaning) and manager rudely and abruptly grabbed keys and drove truck away to block my ability to clean the truck and avoid the fee. I asked for the managers name and he proceeded to give me a fake name (“John”) I have subsequently looked this location up for reviews and it appears as if this questionable cleaning fee is a common issue. This was a terrible experience and I will NEVER use this location again. I will recommend strongly for others to avoid this location. Was told by manager to call U-Haul if I had an issue because he didn't want to hear it. Possibly the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Would recommend U-haul look into this matter and the business practices going on at this location.

I drove just 9 miles and I filled gas before returning the truck still they charged me 11 dollars for gas.

The truck had a faulty tire pressure sensor and a faulty seat belt sensor. The tire sensor was not available in time for the rental. The truck was otherwise very clean.

It was easy to book, pickup and the customer service was good. But, the truck smell like an ash tray and the passenger seat was dirty, luckily I was the only one to drive the truck or else I would have had to put down some towels. Also the was a turn signal light out on the right drivers side.

The van I got was very noisy on the highway due to some gap in the driver side door seal. Could not talk on the phone due to the wind noise .

The rental van drove fine and without an issue, however, it was extremely dirty both inside and out. I had to lay out tarps and carpets across the bed otherwise everything would have been soiled. There was so much dirt and grim on the entire outside of the vehicle that we had to be careful so as not to brush against it while loading.

My only comment is you should make everyone leave the truck full of fuel. I was moving some furniture and I was told the trip was 60 miles x 2. The truck only had 1/4 of a tank so I added another 1/4 tank. Turns out the entire round trip was 27 miles. I lost the better part of $50 of gas. If you did it like car rentals you take it full and return it full.

Overall the customer service was ok but I was charged extra for gas although I refueled the truck to the level I took it with before I return it. The funny part is that the regular gas price on that gas station was $3.73 per gallon and I was charged $4.50 per gallon.

Did not want insurance or extra charges and yet still charged us for optional $15 "Safe Move", then charged us $25 "cleaning fee" for removing a blanket we forgot and they did not have when we came to get it early the next morning. Also the truck ran like it was about to give out. When we went in to talk to them ( a gas station location) about all this they just said we would have to take it up with U-Haul, even though it was their person on-site that we dealt with when picking up the truck. HORRIBLE

The location was fine. The process was HORRIBLE!! It took me almost an hour just to check out the van because the app had so many glitches. I had to call customer service at least 7 times. The customer service we friendly enough except for one who called me to help and she was rude. I would give all of the other customer service reps 5 stars because they were helpful and friendly. The one that called to help was 1 star just for making the call, but her overall attitude was rude. The van was so dirty inside and out, otherwise it worked fine. The location was fine, but there should be a way to improve the process when the app does not work properly. There should be something they can do on site to help the customers get in and out more quickly and effortlessly.

This location fraudulently charged my card an additional $48, after calling 3 times and was told to hold on and got hung up someone answered the phone who was extremely rude. It hours later that they came with an additional receipt claiming to be for fuel. I would most certainly not recommend using them again. I will be submitting a claim to my credit card company for this.

STAY AWAY! THEY CHARGE YOU FRAUDULENT CHARGES! The worst rental experience we've ever had. They gave us a truck with 0 gas in it! To make matters worse they charged us a gas charge upon the return!! Are you freaking serious? You gave us an empty tank truck!!!! Next, they charged us twice for the same service and refused to return the duplicate charge! After talking to them, they only returned half of the disputed amount, not the full duplicate charge!! I will never recommend this place to anyone and will warn them to stay away from it!!!

I had no idea where to park. The attendant asked for the keys and said "that's it." I came back later asking for a receipt and happy to see he didn't take off with the truck in the event he wasn't an employee. He said he was busy and would do the paperwork that day but it's over 24 hours and I still don't have any paperwork/receipt I turned in the truck.. I'm amazed that's how you do business. I took care to clean out the truck and fill it with gas and he could have cared less.

I was very impressed with the UHAUL Process. It was seamless, friendly and clean. The communication was excelled and I thought the ability to get movers to help me when I booked was so helpful. The movers did a great job and were fantastic about communicating to confirm etc. Thank you!!!!

Overall I would say things were average. This was definitely not the worst experience I've ever had renting a truck, but I was disappointed it wasn't ready to go upon arrival. I selected the mobile pick-up option, but was initially unable to complete this after arriving. Upon inquiring inside the store I was told the truck wasn't yet ready. When I finally gained access, the supplies I rented were not in the back. The individual working later set everything in front of the store's main door and told me, “Here it is.” It was apparently my job to stock the back of the truck. Additionally, there was 1/4 of a tank of gas. I had to fill up the tank before leaving. At the end of the day I was on the road by about 8:25am after an 8:00am reservation. I original arrived at 7:50am because U-Haul's website said it would be available 10 minutes before the reserved time. I had hired movers and every second counted. At different locations in the past I have been able to pick up my truck easily in about 5 minutes. This location was well maintained, easy to access, and clean. The individual working when I returned the truck seemed to be more professional than the one in the morning.

The location and the staff do their best. The awful experience is tied to using the UHaul Mobile App. Simply put - it's a nightmare. When verifying my email, I got an error message that the email "was already used". I tried 3 different emails and had to chat with support before refreshing the app to let me login. I've used the same credentials multiple times before via the app and the uhaul.com site - so it shouldn't be difficult to use the same credentials again. When picking up the truck, the app let me access the keys via the lockbox and showed the truck had been released - but did not send me a link that allowed me to take pictures of the fuel gage, the truck bed, etc. The staff had to manually send me the link to perform these key actions as part of the rental process. When returning the truck to the same location, the app just spun when trying to verify my location. I had a maximum number of bars showing my connection to Verizon, and Google maps pinpointed my location immediately. I checked all App Permissions and they were set properly. I refreshed the screen multiple times, but after 10+ minutes, had to have the person at the counter manually check me in. She had a pad of paper with about a dozen contract numbers written down, all were renters who had the same problem with the app. There's no reason for a company of your size to have such a lousy, bug-ridden app. While not the fault of anyone at the location, the app is so bad I'll strongly consider a less convenient location to rent from Penske the next time I need a truck.

When I arrived the lady wasn't at counter; but came up front to not look me in the eye. Told where to find the truck (which was park so close to another truck I couldn't get in to pull it out.) I then went back in the gas station to say you need to pull it out; she did (climbing in the passenger door to do so) it but with attitude and then told me where to find the 3 dollies I ordered. I won't use this location again. Bad customer service!
