The staff at this location is a single gas station attendant who is not interested in being efficient or communicative. I had originally requested a 6x12 trailer from the Matsquie branch in Abbotsford. I had reserved this trailer well I advance and was informed on the day of pick up that the trailer was actually unavailable. I was told to call back later to see if the trailer would be available that afternoon. I was hung up on 3 separate times. The main switchboard staff was unsympathetic and did not offer any solution outside of changing my order (reservation) to a smaller trailer (a 5x8). A 5x8 trailer was not what I wanted. I moved my in-laws from Kelowna to Victoria. The 6x12 trailer was reserved because we knew that trailer was what we needed for the amount of stuff they needed to move. We ended up having to leave certain belongings behind as they simply would not fit. I am seriously frustrated with the lack of effort by staff to find a solution. I was basically informed that the trailer not being there was no fault of UHaul - Sh*t happens/deal with it - is basically what I was told. Absurd standards of "customer service" I cannot believe there is such a lack of organization in a company boasting optimal storage solutions. I was charged the full amount for a trailer I didn't order and did not serve my needs.

This delay caused alot of unneeded stress and police involved in my moving situation.

I decided to go to the original location on hazelwood to see if my first original booking was back or why he didn’t book the truck in mission Turns out he had the wrong phone number and sent the confirmation to the wrong number Called to ensure the 10 foot was there Supposedly it wasn’t they only had a van At this pint I am so upset and frustrated I can’t even explain the rest it was a disaster No one communicated properly Eventually after 3.5 hours in the ohone I got a truck 30 Km away which my original 15 foot truck was only 2 Km The amount of money I had to pay for 4 k Move because of uhaul errors is appalling let Alone I’m homeless as of today because the lack of rental properties in bc then this amount stress and adding this was just an event that could have been avoided. I appreciate everyone trying yo help but only giving me a 50$ credit towards 120 truck rental when originally it would have only cost me 50$ in the first place I appreciate everyone doing what they did but the disrespect and lack of communication and customer service that was given will definitely make my decision easy and not use uhaul ever again. This was the third time I’ve used uhaul and this has happened Be sure that this experience will be shared on social media and the BBB

Was told they had no blankets or dollies on site, despite the order being made almost a month in advance.

It was so bad I just returned it with out using it. Such a waste of $100+ dollars. Wasn’t able to move my stuff which cost me even more money. This is totally unacceptable the vehicle is a death trap waiting to happen. I’m considering reporting to CVSE. Can’t believe your company has gone so far down hill and basically robbed me of my money.

Ajeeth GopinathThere was 14 inches of snow in the parking lot. The van was only partially cleared. I took 25 minutes for them to process my booking even though I booked online. Then it took me 15 minutes to get the van out of its parking spot because the snow was so high. The parking lot was absolutely unacceptable and unsafe. I would not recommend.
Judy KenzieI reserved a 15 foot truck that seats 3 people, upon arrival I was told there were no 15 foot trucks available. I had to take a 10 foot truck that only had 2 seats. Because of this I had to bring a second vehicle to transport my 3rd mover and catch the overflow from the too small uhaul. I had also reserved a hand cart, dolly and 10 moving blankets. There were none of these at my rental location, which necessitated driving out of my way to pick up at another location. The truck itself was in poor shape. The drivers mirror was broken. When it started to snow I discovered the windshield wipers were useless and had to stop and buy a squeegee to clean the windshield, stopping several time to do this. When it got darker in the afternoon I found that only one headlight worked. As it was snowing, this made visibility very poor. A very bad experience. Moving is stressful enough without all these problems.

eric tremblayI had ordered 2 Dollie’s ( one utility and one furniture) and three packs of furniture blankets, which were not at the location- the Uhaul rep told me where to go in Chilliwack to pick them up. I was not expecting this since I had not been notified and I needed the dolly to move heavy pieces. I went to two Uhaul locations in Chilliwack and neither had these items for me which made my move extremely difficult .

Really disappointed. Ask to pay 3500$ with debit and the rest of it with credit. But was not ok with that. After complaining that I took the plane from Qc to BC for a moving , and that I hardly insist to pay the rest with CC, he hardly accepted.
Loic JankowskiOur truck was over 3 hours later than our booking time. I understand that things happen but I'm not sure why there is even the option to book a time if there's that much of a discrepancy. We moved between provinces and the time difference made us have to spend a night in a hotel because we left so much later than we had planned, cost us a lot of money to book a hotel room at late notice. When we called to ask why our truck was late or if anything could be done, the customer service was terrible. They pretty much told us to kick rocks. Additionally, the wiper blades on the truck were in horrendous condition. Driving at high speed on a mountain highway and the blades couldn't clear the windshield of rain, it was dangerous. I'll never use uhaul again.
