The truck’s door would not close properly so while driving I can feel the cool air entering the vehicle. This was a poor service truck and I felt unsafe driving. There should be a discount applied to the fees charged.

Had trouble doing the mobile pickup/drop off relating to technical issues. In regards to the van, it was dirty, sticky and the fuel tank was nearly on empty….

This was the worst rental experience of my life. The location was changed by U-Haul to Ricks automotive. The location was closed on the scheduled pickup date no information was given notifying me of how to pickup the vehicle. Once I was able to get the vehicle keys. I turn on the car to find the service engine light was on. I then proceeded to the original U-Haul location to see if the could change out the vehicle that did not have the engine light on. The employee checked the car and said it was ok to be rented but I could contact roadside assistance. I proceeded to load the truck based on the employee telling me it was good. While I awaited roadside assistance to arrive to document the condition of the vehicle. Roadside assistance took 2.5 -3 hours to arrive despite stating it would be an hour. Upon arrival I was then informed I could not use the vehicle and needed a new vehicle. By the time a new vehicle was located and loaded I was now almost 6 hours behind schedule. This caused me not to reach my intended destination necessitating a last minute lodging rental and putting our following days plans also at risk. The fact that Ricks automotive/U-Haul did not ensure the rental vehicle had been properly serviced and safe for interstate transit. Caused us a lot of undue stress and disrupted several days of planned travel.

Make sure that the U-Haul CSR communicates & advises the customer of any changes they are making, so there is no fiasco or confusion! This will avoid a 2-hour delay in equipment pick up, nor a triple charge for 1 rental.
