J&L was absolutely fantastic. U-Haul in general was a TERRIBLE experience and I will go out of my way to never use them again.

Sergio Benigno Ponce AlcalaWe reserved a car hauler trailer a couple days in advance. When we arrived at the rental location, we were given a trailer that did not have working taillights and blinkers. I said something and the guy told me to stop in the next town and have it fixed at the Uhaul dealer there. He said he did not have anyone to fix it at his repair shop. He did have a 2nd car hauler trailer sitting there not being used but he did not give us that one. Maybe it was broken as well? He told me not to worry, we wouldn't get a ticket. We were on a tight schedule, so we were not able to find another Uhaul dealer for repairs. We drove 500 miles in the fog and dark with one working brake light! Fortunately, we had a tail vehicle following us, but I found this to be really poor customer service. J & L Service in Jamestown ND is not a location I would have representing your brand!

roxy SAWYERJ and L service was extremely helpful. I would have had to drive 30 miles but he got one in my town. I hated doing everything on line because some of it I had trouble getting. Also time of pickup was awful. The station 30 miles away called me and said they closed at my scheduled pickup time. I was extremely happy that J and L helped me out. U-Haul not so much . I give U-Haul 1 star! J and L gets 5 stars!!

JEFF GROSSThe UHaul experience - while ultimately came together, is a little sketchy. Reservation was made online for pickup in Jamestown ND. Confirming details via phone, I was told there was no guarantee that a 5x8 Trailer would even happen in Jamestown. It ultimately did at a different location, but pickup process took about 45 min, and we had to find the requested pads at a different location.

lonnie wertzDid not get our utility dolly and we were on a tight schedule so we did not open the truck to look inside. As a result we have paid the $10 rental fee and another $150 for a missing utility dolly (that we never had) and we had to buy our own for $80 at Walmart. The uhaul truck sounded horrible as driving it down the high way if we went above 50mph the steering wheel shook very bad. It took us three days to get to our destination. The staff at this location were very friendly.
Amanda LarocqueThe chains on the car dolly need replaced. It was missing the rubber things. No one hooked the trailer up for us. The hook-up picture was not taken. They did not check in the car dolly until the next morning, when we returned it around 7 pm the night before, and they close at 8 pm. I rented a truck before from them, the inside was dirty and the windshield was so dirty, I could hardly see out of it, and the wiper fluid just smeared it around :( They need to do their job, and do it better!

TRACI REDLINThey sent us off with a trailer that had two bad tires, one so bald that the nylon string was showing through on part of it. We didn’t see it at hookup because the bumper hid it, but after we discovered it we needed to Stop in Bismarck to get the tires replaced. They also did not have 2 inch balls in stock, so I needed to go find an auto parts store that did, which delayed us by a good while. I have rented perhaps two dozen U-Haul trailers in the past, and always with a 1-7/8 inch ball. We were not notified in advance that U-Haul was switching their hitches to require 2 inch balls.

Daniel GorsethHad to hook up my own trailer. My trailer lights weren't working. Reported issue to the u haul guy and was told it was my truck and to go to chevy to try to get my lights fixed. Wasn't comfortable driving without trailer lights. Was a Saturday and chevy said they couldn't get me in. U haul gave me a 12 foot trailer to haul an 18 foot car. Car wouldn't fit properly on trailer at all. Very dangerous situation. Decided not to haul the car due to wrong size trailer and no trailer lights. Called the 1-800 number and tried to return the trailer from where I got it and u haul told me that I would be charged a considerable fee if I did not take my trailer with me back to Wyoming. Had an 8 hour drive to make to get back home. Very unhappy that I was lied to about the trailer, Sent out with knowing the trailer lights weren't working, and not allowed to return the trailer and forced to take it with me otherwise I'd be slapped with a fee. Makes me sick to my stomach I wasted soo much money on a trip and u haul completely screwed me and didn't give a second thought to help me out. Never again.
BRAD LEE WATKINSMy contract was incorrect in that I was over-charged for the blankets I rented, and I was also billed for a utility dolly which I did not order. I am still awaiting refunds to my card for these errors.
