This is the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to use. First of all, they lie about their tariffs. The website says $19.95 plus $0.89/kilometer. You are pleasantly surprised and count on $40-50, but in the end, you pay for the distance, and for gasoline (15 liters per 21 km), and not 19.95, but 39.90, and safe mode, and environmental fee and tax and you end up paying 3 times as much: $150 for 21 km in the city on a 10' Truck. No one can even give you an approximate price, you will find out after the fact. You don't pay, they charge you as much as they want. If they told me $150 on the website, I'd say ok and pay $150, but they tell you 19.95 plus $0.89/kilometer and then charge you $150 for 21km. It's petty cheating. 2. They ask for all your credit card information and store it (including cvv) in the public domain, any employee can take it and use it and you have no control over it. You can't enter the data into the system yourself, there is no way. You only have to provide them in plaintext to an employee. 3. The car is dirty. I agree that even $150 for 21km on a moving truck is not bad, but cheating on prices, insecure storage of your payment data and a dirty car is a terrible service.

I am revising my prior rating of 2 stars to 1 star. Since first reviewing, it turns out the erroneous parking ticket that I found on my personal car left in the UHAUL parking lot (unbeknownst to me, actually owned by the city), which I got because the UHAUL staff failed to register my plate despite taking my payment for parking, was never cleared up by them even though they promised to take care of it. Furthermore - and more seriously - in investigating the parking issue I noticed that the receipt for my rental is overcharging me due to incorrect odometer readings entered on both the start and the finish of my travel. I know this because I had photographed the dash (to document the gas level). I made a typo in my prior review, saying 45 km but in fact it was 35km; they charged me 52 km. Given the multiple complaints this location has, I feel very certain it is run by scammers who are defrauding customers and probably UHAUL too. My polite attempts to resolve the issue have met with resistance from the staff.

I was just ripped off, I rented a truck for 2.5 hours and they strategically made sure i was double charged by back dating! 19.95 for 24 hours, these guys are con artists. I put less than 40 km on it too and cleaned the tim hortons garbage that was left in the console compartment that had rotting food in it. 100 dollars for 2.5 hours! I rented a uhaul in branrford for 24 hours and it cost that amount. Ive heard of uhaul dealers doing this, im filing a report with consumer affairs ontario and the Better Business Beurau. Just unfair. Shame on them!

Would have been convenient to be able to drop the vehicle off to any location, I ended up having to back track from my last run I did, there was a closer location to the area I was in, but had to go back to where I was which wasted more gas.

I'm used to the impeccable care at Plains Road East and Governor's Road. The attendant was polite and professional but the vehicle was a mess. The response was "I guess others left it that way!?" So they don't really check or clean in-between.

1. Notify customer that the truck they had reserved is not going to be available. I wanted a small truck, and only used the Premier Inn because that size was not available at the location closer to where I was moving from. Replacing a smaller truck with a larger one does not always meet a client's needs. 2. Taking almost an hour to get my truck because the agent is busy checking people out of the hotel and dealing with customer issues in the lobby is not acceptable. Blankets that I had reserved were not ready and had to be hunted down. Only seven of twelve were available and I did not have time to wait while they found more. This issue is not the fault of the agent in Hamilton, it is a breakdown in the system. 3. On the positive side, the lady I returned the truck to in Sarnia was very pleasant and helpful. Her efforts meant that I would use U-Haul again, but not at Premier Inn location.

I was over charged for mileage rate.online I booked it for 0.89 and I was charged for 1.42/km. I returned the truck at 730 pm when my time was 8pm. The location said I returned at 10. Absolutely pathetic and charged another day for insurance. I have already complained and if uhaul gives me a problem then I will sue the basis of the principle of the whole thing.

The only problem we had was trying to find a parking spot when we returned the truck. It had to be parked between two poles and partly on the sidewalk. Other than that, the desk clerk was friendly and attentive. This is our preferred spot.

The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The truck was clean, but it needs a maintenance check-up. The transmition was shifting hard, and the truck was very squeeky when you turn the wheel and when you apply the breaks. Other than that, it was very roomy, both up front and cargo area.

The agent at this location (who was also the hotel desk clerk) seemed very disorganized, and communication was poor. The truck had half a tank of fuel when I picked it up, and I had only driven six miles. When I returned it, the agent told me, "You're good." but didn't elaborate or tell me that my final charge differed from my initial quote. I later received an e-mail telling me that I was being charged $139 for fuel. When I called to complain, the agent told me that it was my responsibility since I didn't specifically address this with them and that they couldn't adjust the bill. I had to go back to the office in person to demand a phone number that I could call. Thankfully, the agent at your call center was very helpful and professional, and she assured me that the fuel charge would be removed.

My Uhaul was cancelled the day before I was supposed to pick it up. Then, not all of the equipment was available when I picked up the van (when I ordered a truck). I also had to bring the van back to the original location when I was supposed to leave the truck in the new location. This absolutely messed up our entire moving process! Since this truck was "guaranteed" I was supposed to get a $50 discount which was never applied. This really was a bad experience

There was a bed set up in the back of the van, which I had to move so that I could use it. When I tried to indicate this on the app, it was going to charge me a $25 cleaning fee for indicating that the vehicle required cleaning before reuse. The man who checked me out for my reservation also tried to force me to take the $16 coverage which I had declined. He insisted that it was mandatory, until I called head office at which time he started to backtrack.

This location is run out of a super sketchy hotel. Had I known this I would have picked it up elsewhere. Even being in the building made me super uncomfortable. And they made me pay $10 for parking to leave my car there for a few hours. The first front desk guy was nice when I was picking up the van. When I dropped the van off the guy was super rude.

The location is very central and accessible. However, no cleaning was done to the vehicle prior to my pickup. This tells me that someone at this U-Haul location do not care about cleanliness and customer satisfaction. This need to be addressed to avoid other upset customers.

The only problem I have is the gas tank was not 1/4 it was 1/8 and I submitted with 1/8 fuel full. UHaul charged me a lot . I drove and few miles . I need refund

It’s a joke right. Because of an error on what time I was told to bring it back. It cost me $900 plus $400 from you guys. I was treated like an idiot. Filed a claim with the lady on the phone was baffled and said somebody would be in touch. Nobody called. I got an email saying sorry about your experience. $1300 later because of an error of one of your workers. And still no phone call. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.

I am not pleased that there is no refund for unused mileage and the contract is emailed *AFTER* payment. The clerk couldn't answer my question and I said I'd use about 50 km x 89 cents. Your contract charged me over $1 per mile or km- still not clear. Been Uhaul for 25 years. Last time. Will use a car share instead.

I experienced two bad issues: 1) My starting mileage was incorrect....the renter before me came in to drop off the keys and then the keys were handed to me. Nobody checked the ending mileage which should have been my starting mileage. With photos taken I was able to get the invoice corrected 2) I parked my car at the Uhaul/Premier Inn while using the van. Upon my return, there was a parking ticket issued to my car for unauthorized parking. The guys on location took care to cancel the ticket which I appreciate it. But why are you so aggressively letting your parking lot be ticketed with the risk of getting your customers caught up in that?

An awful experience all around... The rear door lock was broken so every time I needed to open it I had to crawl through the van and open it from the inside, a total pain when there's cargo in there. Worst of all they charged me and extra $65 for a fuel fee when I actually put in 2x over the gas I used. At this time I'm waiting to hear back from UHaul about a refund. All in all the worst experience I've ever had renting a van from the UHaul company.

The cab and back of truck were dirty, something was spilled all over the floor of the truck and I had to put down a tarp before putting my belongings in the truck. The cab had food crumbs in the cup holders and on the seats, it obviously had not been cleaned out. When I picked up the truck it was not full of gas only at ¼ full. So by the time I got to my offloading destination the truck was at empty. I filled up in Mississauga before heading back to Hamilton and then when I got to Hamilton saw that I was a bit under ¼ so went to put more gas in to ensure that it was at the same level as at pick up. I returned the keys to the same person that I picked up the truck from and also told him that the tank was at ¼ as I had just put in gas. He asked me if I had taken a picture of the fuel gauge, I had not. This was about 1am. When I woke up, I had my emailed bill and they had added a fuel service fee of $30 and a fuel charge for 23L of $46.61! They also put that the fuel gauge was at 1/8 full. These are bogus charges and now I know why they asked me if I had taken a picture of the fuel gauge. Good thing I have my receipts from the gas stations in Mississauga and Hamilton! This is a total gas fee scam. Extremely disappointed and never a good feeling getting ripped off.

I normally do not take the time to write a comment as I suspect they fall on deaf ears however this may provide some sort of an outlet to the incredible frustration I experienced yesterday while waiting over 1 hour to check out a cargo van. I had people on site waiting for this vehicle which cost me time and money but the technology involved in an incredibly simple system of ID and credit card took forever to process due to “system errors” “ updates” and plain incompetence. I could have been in and out with a paper system backup instead had to wait for so long while the system updated which vehicle could be assigned even though it was the only cargo van on site! I will move my business to enterprise or budget and recommend everyone I possibly can to do so as well. Horrible experience. Horrible horrible horrible.

Have your system be working, have backups in place, ensure a 9am checkout doesn't mean a 9:45 am checkout (or honour the time elapsed rather than the return time), I could go on. The person doing the service did an excellent job with a truly awful system, and it is with his help that I was able to actually complete the errand I rented your truck for. Promote him, fire your entire IT team and start again.
