Your review of system is sub par. It does not consider the survey conducted. Yes, the service was good; however the request and subsequent follow up was annoying. Indeed it prompted a reply but overall a 4.3 service I now downgrade to 3.2. Based on the fact that the counter in person customer service repeatedly made me wait to serve another customer while checking out. I would not want to interact with a machine or locking mechanism to find the key, however feel all employees need to understand how to operate a service provided within their proclaimed arena.

The internet there stinks for everyone trying to do mobile pick up. It takes forever to load every page and there are a lot of steps that need to happen. Maybe some service providers have better coverage but everyone I know who has picked up from this location has had issues with the internet and going through the mobile pick up process.

The gas was on empty, well just a hair above. All the tires but one were well below their air fill as the screen in the van let me know, making the vehicle unsafe to drive. I thought the 20 bucks and gas would be my bill, but this unsafe barely ready van cost me 110. I dove 36 miles and returned it writhing 2 hrs. Did I mention that you self serve system crashed after I entered pics and info dozens of time and it took me literally 2 full hours of trying making calls waiting for return calls etc until I was able to retrieve the key. This meant I got the car 30 mins after my reservation. I was outside in the cold doing this. I’m 62 years old and had no intention of trying to fill the tires with air. Not good. In fact, this was the worst rental experience I have ever had. I feel I should be refunded.

Check in process could be done all before. The verification of id and reference phone numbers. The check in process was all incredibly inefficient and dangerous cause it was 4am and a police approached us. The rest was fine. Especially drop off.

Fix the gas intake system as it was very difficult putting gas in the tank. The pump kept shutting off every second. Also, it would have helped to have a sticker in the cab or on the outside indicating where the gas tank is as it is hidden under a small panel and it took 5 minutes finding it.

Nobody ever on-site to actually do U-Haul in person. App is awful and rarely works and requires multiple attempts to get through the process. Internet at location is poor which only makes things worse. I have used this location many times only because it’s the only one within 15 miles. Awful experience!!

The mobile sign in process is much too complicated and has far too many steps. I had to try safari, chrome and your app before I was able to get my camera to take a photo using your system. It is especially challenging in a remote area where cell service is spotty. You were also asking for the same information I already provided when I placed the rental order. This should be much less complicated than it is. I had to speak to two different customer service reps before I was able to get the lockbox code. I am a tech savvy person; you need to simplify your system.

The interior of the van was not clean. It appears that the dirt was not swept out of the back of the van from the previous customer. We had to place a sheet over the floor so that our furniture would not get dusty/dirty. Otherwise the experience was very good, pickup went quickly. Location very convenient.

My experience with U-Haul was unacceptable: 1. I reserved a 15' truck online and was later told it was not available. Customer service offered an alternate location that would have cost me $50 in miles. If U-Haul was the one who screwed up, U-Haul should cover those miles (or at least a discount). 2. I tried to check in online and both the app and the web said I was not at the right location. I absolutely was at the right location - I'd rented there before AND the addresses matched AND the owner of the store confirmed. 3. When I tried to call customer service for help, the message said it was a 15 minute wait. I tried a different number but when the agent tried to connect me, the call was dropped. I finally reached another agent who stayed on the phone with me and offered a credit, which I appreciated. 4. I wound up having the store owner check me out manually, which took almost 10 minutes due to the slow software on his end. I wound up leaving with the truck almost 45 minutes later than my reservation. 5. The final bill added a $14 "safe move" option, which I had declined when booking my initial reservation.

I was charged $103 cleanup fee for a mess that wasn’t mine, it took me over an hour to get my rental vehicle on pickup day, and uhaul customer service has not helped whatsoever with my cleanup charge dispute.

It is terrific to have U-Haul in our semi-remote location. All was well except 6 pallets were left in the van by the previous renter. I could not ask for an easier rental process. Will definitely be a return customer of this vendor.

I’m 65 and don’t not have tech growing thru my fingers. The check in was horrible. It took around a half hour. You big companies need to remember not everyone is tech savvy. The rest of the stuff was fine.

Do not choose check in on phone if renting from this location. There is no phone signal at this location and uploading information is impossible. You cannot load information if you are not geolocated near location. Vehicle pickup and dropoff was easy. Vehicle was clean enough for a rental and everything worked in vehicle. Uhaul website says vehicle I rented gets 18 miles per gallon. I drove a total of 68 miles. Refilled tank with 5 gallons of gasoline prior to returning vehicle and the location still charged me for an additional 1.5 gallons of gas?????

Please provide text notification if you terminate reservation when customer does not arrive on time for 24/7 truck pick up. I was completely confused to arrive at the location and be unable to complete the simple pick up process on my phone. When I called the U-Haul 800 number the agent was fantastic but the message she delivered me was infuriating. She said the link had be deactivated for pick-up because I had not arrived on time at 1:00 pm. She had to reset the link. I had actually arrived at about 2 pm. I was not aware I had to be “on time” for a 24/7 pick up. And nowhere on the U-Haul website or mobile app did it tell me that. It just kept forcing me in a login circle and then telling me my vehicle was ready. I spent an hour doing this and calling in for help. It was a terrible experience as a customer. Bad enough that I may never use U-Haul again. With that said, it would have only taken a simple automated text message to tell me I’d have to be on time or re-verify my desire for a rental to reset the “Welcome” link that leads a customer through the process of getting the vehicle, photographing a drivers license for verification, proving insurance and getting a key. Please fix this. It may help other customers. Thank you.

Generally poor “service”. Was surprised when intending to rent $19.99 day rental to be returned to same location, a contracted $1.59 per mile fee. I asked about the $19.99 unlimited deal and was told… “we don’t do that”. Still, last minute so I signed. Upon return, although I filled tank to 7/8ths (same as pickup) I was charged $36 for 6 gallons. I called that night to complain… left a message and confronted clerk next day. Asked to see the meter… miraculously tank was at 3/4. (Maybe I made a mistake) still, 1/8 of a tank of max 33 gallons is 4 gallons not 6. I asked for a $12 refund and was told I needed to talk to U-haul. This fiasco turned out to be a nearly $300 disaster to move a single sofa for my mother in law. Very irritated.

When I got to the location it required Wi-Fi for mobile pick up. I tried sending photos of my drivers license and everything that was needed for pick up but nothing would process- The error message said I didn’t have a strong enough signal to send photos. Took me over an hour to pick up the equipment. It would be helpful if people who are picking up U-Haul‘s could get on the Wi-Fi at the market. I asked the store clerk who is kind, but didn’t know the the password. I called U-Haul to get support and it was a 30 minute wait on the phone. Although convenient location, nothing was convenient about that process and would not rent from there again.

I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but my experience was great. I was there on a Wed, which may have been quieter than the weekend, and was helped immediately with my rental. Afterwards, turning the U-Haul back in was quick and simple. Great experience.

The service was terrible. It is a convenience store and while trying to work with me he was in parallel attending to customers coming to the store. The crags I bought were not clean. The rate differed from what was quoted at the time of booking. I will not recommend this location.

The uhaul had a huge problem with the gas tank - something is damaged in there that doesn't allow the gas to flow in when filling up, so that it takes about 20minutes + to fill the tank - pump continually cuts off... It was a real big pain! Extremely frustrating.

The first truck I tried to rent was much larger and when I put in the brakes they didn’t stop the truck right away. I got out and rented a different truck, a smaller one that worked beautifully.

The one star doesn't have to do with the location - it has to do with my uhaul online reservation experience. My experience with the process at the actual location was fine. I created a reservation several weeks in advance, then tried to switch to a bigger truck a few days before the reservation, and the change went through and was accepted online. Then half an hour later I received a voicemail saying that the other bigger truck was not available, that I had lost my original reservation, and I was switched to a different location and a later time that made a pretty negative impact to my sensitive moving schedule. I tried calling uhaul right away to try to explain my situation and was on hold for twenty minutes until I gave up and just dealt with the new reservation. This was a pretty frustrating and negative part of my experience.

It had not been cleaned from previous user since there was litter in it. Not good during Covid19. Will never go back.

Liquor store, feels very unofficial. Lady was rude, did not clearly explain what the total charge included. They did not have a dolly or furniture pads that I ordered with the truck. They kept breaking away from my rental transaction to help the liquor store customers buy snacks and lottery tickets on a different register.

i rented a van, but when i got there there wan't a van and i had to drive a truck. why does your website allow one to rent something that isn't there? i needed it for 4 hours, but by the time i got the truck i only had like 3 hours. the time should have been adjusted

The location is run out of a convenience/liquor store which opens an hour earlier than the U-Haul store (why?). I showed up early to my appointment which was at 9:30am. I went in and said "Hi I know I'm early but I did the early check-in, is there anything else I need to do in order to get the keys?" The woman who was the cashier told me she didn't know how to run the U-Haul side of the store so she couldn't help me and I'd have to wait until my appointment. I said no problem and waited the 20 minutes until my appointment. She then told me I needed a contract but wouldn't tell me how to get the contract. I told her I entered my license and credit card info through the app already and would sign whatever needed to get the keys now 10 minutes after my appointment time. I then called U-Haul and they spoke to her over the phone asking her to give me the keys and that I was all set. She refused and said I would have to wait until 10am which was 30 minutes after my confirmed appointment time of 9:30. I called U-Haul again and they offered me a refund. I waited until the stroke of 10am and when I went in, she was handing another man the keys to his U-Haul as he signed the ever elusive contract. I asked her why she lied and told me she didn't know how to help me and made me wait an hour at the store and 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. She then asked me if I wanted the keys or not seeming to threaten taking away the service altogether. She was rude and unhelpful. When I got to the store at opening there were no other customers. At 10, there was a line full of people waiting behind me while I had to sign papers to get the keys. There is no excuse for such horrid customer service. She was rude and blatantly lied about knowing how to help me while wasting my time, putting me behind schedule and in turn making other customers waiting just to wait until 10. This location needs to either be under new management or closed altogether. The service is awful and I would rather drive the extra miles than deal with being behind schedule during a move and dealing with these rude people ever again. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!!

Terrible customer service, the cashier went out of his way to be rude, uncooperative and truculent. I would not recommend this particular business to anyone, ever! I have rented from UHUl in several locations, Belmont, Ca, Los Gatos, Ca, and they would check truck for mileage, scratches, equipment, etc. They sneered when I suggested this, refused to do so, left dolly & blankets in the middle of the parking lot, upon my return they were the same, (25 min early) refused to view truck, mileage and returned dolly, 6 blanketss) grabbed the keys & would not give me 6 number code verification,(needed for UHaul moving men) -one employee finally jotted down an obscure tel number for me to call. As an experienced customer service rep, I always try to be a cooperative and helpful customer but they made it very clear that customers were not a priority.

The whole thing where we don’t tell you where to pick up until the last minute then drive a couple of hours round trip thing the morning of a move was kinda shitty. The app was slow and clunky during pickup due to a remote location and spotty data coverage. Maybe offer WiFi for a smooth pickup and upload experience? I’m glad I won’t be moving again for a while
