Raymond BThis business is not a UHaul at all, I reserved a truck 2 weeks in advance and they did not have the correct item number. They then tried to switch for one that didn’t work. After finally getting a piece of equipment that barely worked and different from what I reserved they charged me an extra $30 for their “fee” on top of what uhaul charged me? I spoke with uhaul and they said that is between me and the dealer but they did not approve any additional fees and there should not be any additional fees above what I paid them. I then tried to rent another truck and they seemed uninterested, they doubled the price uhaul quoted me and then told me they “were going to add another $100 handling fee for their time?? I decided to drive to kenai about 90 miles and was able to secure the truck for less than 1/3 the price these people were trying to charge me, I saved over $450. I believe that they have an agreement with Uhaul to be an agent of Uhaul but then unethically charge Individuals who make uhaul.com reservations service fees and other fees without any logic or notification to uhaul. I’m very upset how they treat customers ice they are the only dealer in town with Uhaul equipment. I think uhaul should investigate the ongoing fraud at this place.

steven dWe booked our Uhaul for a one-way trip about 6 weeks in advance. Owner of this Homer Alaska Uhaul location called me the day before our scheduled pickup date to say he didn't have a vehicle available for me. I was upset and insisted we had confirmed with Uhaul 6 weeks in advance. He said he owned a car rental company and could rent me a car instead but only for a 2-way. I told him that we were unable to return a vehicle back to Homer. He said he could go pickup a Uhaul truck that evening from a different location so it'll be ready for my reserved time but it would cost me $200 extra dollars. He couldn't explain why it would cost me $200 extra dollars for a rental reservation that I already paid in full for. When I arrived at his location to pick up the Uhaul, he said he was now going to need my credit card so he could charge me the $230 extra dollars for the Uhaul. I said my card is already attached to the Uhaul reservation. He said he needed my card because he was going to charge $230 for getting us the Uhaul for his personal car rental company, not Uhaul. That's when we realized he was doing some shady business. We refused to pay. He refused to give us the Uhaul. We said we would call Uhaul corporate first so we could hear directly from them why he's charging us an extra $230 to his personal company for a reservation we made 6 weeks in advance. That's when he told us calling corporate isn't necessary, he'll just charge us $30 instead to his personal company and forget about the extra $200. We wanted to get out of there as soon as possible so we agreed to pay him $30 even though we knew we didn't owe his personal company a dime. Don't go to this location if you can avoid it.
Monique SLess confusing web site. I thought I had paid for the extra insurance but they charged me again when I picked up the vehicle. Also not so sure about the $30.00 Covid-19 “cleaning “ charge. Otherwise great people with wonderful service. We reserved a ten foot van and got a fifteen foot one…worked for us.
