The customer service call center needs to improve. Moving help website plus uhaul needs to be coordinated so as to not double charge customers.
SAIMA H.While I had a good experience with the staff, I will not be using Uhaul itself again. When I packed my belongings up and placed them in the Uhaul, every item was plastered in bubble wrap and placed in a very very secure/protective manner. I made sure to reinforce any wobbly pieces of furniture with multiple bungee cord straps and hooks. Everything was extremely well-protected. However, when I unpacked my Uhaul, it looked like somebody had picked up the container, turned it upside down, and shaken it as hard as possible??? Almost every single piece of furniture, plastic/cardboard box, even pairs of shoes… all had damage occur. Not just small nicks either… lots of damage. I had a glass table in there and somehow, the glass didn't break, but the metal legs were bent and broken in a way I can't even explain. Incredibly disappointing to pay $2500+, when almost everything is now broken or not usable. I should have NEVER done this in the first place. Would have saved a ton of time and energy if I had just sold everything, then bought new furniture when I arrived here. Looks like I'm going to have to do that anyways…. tragic.
Anna S.When the pod is late, immediately contact the customer to tell them where the pod is, when it will get there, what reimbursements will be offered, and stay in contact with them. Our pod was two weeks late and there was so little communication about where our pod was and reimbursements. It was a full week before we were even told we could be reimbursed for an air mattress, so we were just sleeping on the floor. We also had to wait about 36-48 hours to have very simple questions answered, which made the situation much more stressful. I know that you are short-staffed, but you'd think you could allocate enough resources to keep in contact with people when all their belongings are two weeks late and no official ETA. When I talked to the manager and area lead they were very kind, but it was too little too late. I will never use U-Haul nor U-Box again. Horrible experience. (Plus once we got our stuff there were several things that were broken.)
