The interior smelled like someone transported really spicy foods or something. I kinda gagged, at first. I really didn't appreciate the additional $1 charge when I picked up my rental. The rep on the phone did not mention that particular $1 charge, which was a "no fault" fee, though he did mention the $1 environmental charge. And yes, I recall perfectly what was said during the phone ordering conversation. I bet no one there even knows what the environmental fee gets used for or why it is charged. (Answers, like, "it helps the environment" don't count).

Rental truck was sloppy in steering, gear shifting, and well worn, but I consider that somewhat expected from a rental work vehicle with 102,000+ miles on it. Can't say it was filthy, nor well maintained. Just very tired. Guy working the counter did not seem pleased to be there and probably should not be the face of UHaul at that location.

When I asked the girl if she was going to do a check of the vehicle with me and she stated that when someone brings back the vehicle they check everything and mark it down so they already have everything. I told her well, maybe I see something you missed and then you think I did it. Again she repeats the thing about how they write everything down and I repeat what I had said. So in her pissy tone she says fine I’ll go out there with you, I get to the truck, turn around and she’s gone. This is extremely rude. Why wouldn’t you walk out with someone and look at the truck with them? Unprofessional in my eyes.

It was unclear that I needed to “complete my registry”. I had received an email with a reservation number and confirmation that I would be able to pick up the truck at 7am. The store wouldn’t open until 8am. I showed up to pick up my truck and had not received any further instruction as to how I should pick up keys or anything regarding my rental. The 24/7 website needs major work to make it more user friendly and more clear.

It could have used a good vacuuming out. The van had crumbs everywhere with packets of mustard and other sauces on the dash. The surfaces were sticky, didn't want to lay anything on the floor, if I could help it. Could do better.

To whomever receives this message, This is not directed at you, but a review of my overall satisfaction with Uhaul. I've used Uhaul before and have never had this kind of experience prior to this time. First of all, I had trouble finding a truck for my move. Then Uhaul changed the time/location of the pick-up service. Thankfully that was all worked out. Then, when I got home, I noticed damage to the truck. It was obvious, but I did not see it, nor was it pointed out to me when I picked up the truck. I looked through my contract, and handwritten there was a note describing the damage (with no signatures). The note stated that the renter agreed to water damage from the damaged truck. Again, this was never pointed out to me and I would probably been hesitant to accept this truck to begin with. I called customer service and left a message. One of the managers will be calling me back. In short, I paid almost $90 for this experience and would probably not rent from Uhaul again. I am highly unsatisfied.

Box of truck had hole in it. Employee taped a box to the side of the truck. Power steering pump was bad. Hard to turn. Told the employee at the station. He didn't seem to care. I would like a follow up call. I already contacted someone at u haul about this and haven't heard from anyone. I would like some kind of credit for this.
