The manager working was very rude and said he was too busy to produce a receipt and he had too much today and not enough time for us. We spent $234.00 for a rental and should receive better service. This is the first time I have had a problem. The woman before was excellent. I thought customers should come first. I would hope to receive a email from corporate on the way we were treated. we rent several times a year and I have always had a great experience. Especially with the Sterling location. I have rented several times at the Winchester location but never had such bad customer service. I hope next time its a better experience.

I reserved a 5x8 trailer. I called the morning of pickup to confirm. My wife picked up the trailer without me. She does not recall being told the trailer was not a 5x8. I worked all day and when I arrived home I find a 6x12 that is fully loaded by my son who did not pick up the trailer. Because of the huge size I had to strap everything forward and build a "block" to keep cargo from shifting. I also used 30% more fuel than with a smaller trailer. I do appreciate that the rental rate was reduced. Had I wanted a 6x12 I would have requested one. I always have used Dominion Storage in Stephens City for a reason.

There were three people in the office, only one of whom was able to check people out. This becomes a problem when there are six people waiting, as was the case. Would highly suggest cross-training the team. The person who did check me out was courteous and professional, and he apologized for the wait, although he was doing all he could.

Please take 17 foot trucks out of the options if they are not currently available (this has been the case every time I've moved using uhaul). Also, procure more 20 foot trucks. I have been "upgraded" to a 26 foot truck every time I have used uhaul and often times are harder to get into tight spaces.

The customer service was excellent. I had to change the reservations three times with no problems. Rep was very pleasant about it. We were a little longer returning the trailer. Also, no problem. We anticipate needing a trailer several more times this year, and will happily be returning to this location.

Bed of the trailer was dirty. There was rust on the wheels of the trailer. Customer service was poor. I was forced to use this location over the U-Haul location I chose. I was charged for two days of rental when I had the trailer for only 10 hours (all in the same day). Recommend better attention to detail and billing procedures. Will not use this U-Haul location again.

Provide some additional employees so you can process your customers faster. Took 40-50 minutes to get set up even with prior check-in. Took 25 minutes just to return the rental. The 1 employee there did a fine job, but was overwhelmed with customers

My expire experience with traffic control and management was absolutely terrible. Leadership needs to change. I reserved a 20 ft truck April 10th. For 10am in strasburg. Then get alerted I'll be good to go on Winchester at 4pm. I called traffic control to fix it. And they couldn't. Waste of time. Then I called to make sure the next day before leaving my house they had a 20 ft truck. Nope. They never received my order. Called traffic control again. The woman said that because I never called in to confirm they didn't have it. The pick up location was closed when I called. And I called traffic that night. I yelled at the lady on the phone, same lady. Had to settle for a 15 ft truck. I will never use uhaul again. And I will definitely encourage my friends and family to do the same. This company needs new leadership.

Shame that I go there previous times without having to question the quality of service. This time had to deal with the manager directly who was more interested in knick picking costs rather than ensuring quality of service. The truck was marked as having a full tank on paperwork and was actually less than full on the truck guage before departure- the needle was below the full line. Check engine light was on the whole time, and had to deal with the drivers visor slapping me in the face and obstructing my view while there was no knob on the window crank, found what was supposed to the visor laying against the windshield on the dashboard and still no retain pin in the visor. When applying the brake, had to deal with a shimmy and pull. Burned up a quarter tank of gas per the guage in lieu of going directly to my locations after I clocked the mileage as 19.5 miles 1 way in my personal vehicle and being easy on the truck and never left it idling. Even when compared to gps, I was over charged for mileage after putting extra gas in the truck to compensate for managers lack of care to verify fuel, mileage, and condition before departure because he literally opened the door and started it then walked to the back of the truck. When contacted by customer service, manager admitted the lack of maintenance. Next time I will most likely use a competitor because of these issues and being over charged when compared to competitors and previous u-haul rental experiences.

Had to hook the trailer up to my car all by myself because the guy didn’t help me. Mind you I’m pregnant & not suppose to be lifting heavy things. Also the trailer wasn’t accessible for me to pull in & grab I had to drag the trailer atleast 5 parking spaces over because my Jeep would fit where they had it because all the trailers were just thrown over there. Then when I brought it back I had to once again unhook it all by myself, and mind you again I’m pregnant and not suppose to be lifting & these aren’t light for someone my size. As I lifted the trailer up off my hitch is started rolling away and I had to try and stop it, but it was just kind of dragging me, luckily it hit a block and stopped. The passed two times I’ve used uhaul have been awful experience I will probably never use again!

Have personnel onsite that can assist with disconnecting trailers from the pull vehicle....especially when the customer is alone with physical ailments and find that performing the task can be difficult.

Price was very expensive! I feel like if you are paying $2000.00 for a rental the least you could do is free moving pads. My understanding from several dealers is that if I was renting the truck from Fl to Va it would have been approx half the cost. We rented as we did not have a choice but will prob pay professional movers next for the money we spent.
