I tried checking in my rental two days early but the building was closed during open hours. I called the location and a rep told me up just leave my rental and they'd check me in later and send me a confirmation email. After two days they did not send an email so I called, but was sent straight to voicemail. I called uhual directly and they tried contacting the location only too get the same result. Finally they called the owner and they were told I'd be checked in shortly. After waiting for 4 hours I finally got the check in email, but it stated I returned the equipment on 4/27, which wasn't true. It was returned on 4/25. I took photos to verify the return in case someone tried to falsify my return statement and I'm very glad I did. It was such a drastic difference from the location in Lacey, WA, which was fantastic and very helpful. The Wilmington, NC location at Payless Wireless is awful.

I was not properly instructed on how to get into my rental before/after hours. My wife and I were out in the rain until the place opened. I choose the remote/phone Check-in option and it was not going through. Yes, my phone had/has service. I rented a hand truck which was not provided. This was NOT a regular U-Haul location. I would not recommend this place. Furthermore, why was I charged more money at checkout? Was there a hidden charge? I paid a lot as it was, packing, loading and driving this truck from N.C., to Yonkers, NY (and making sure it was fully fueled) was enough. Another 48 dollars on top of that at the end was ridiculous and unnecessary to me.
