Drop off I asked for was changed to another location luckily it was only 3 miles away but a pain in the butt to park that 20 footer in a small location. It was after hours, small area but definitely easy to return the vehicle .. In the future or would be nice if Uhaul would advice me to pick up and drop off a specific locations and not allow me to choose since they are going to change it on my anyway. 1 star to Uhaul for that madness.

U-Haul- Dirty truck and overcharged. I set up the reservation online; set up for contactless pickup for ease; 9am was the earliest time slot for location. This is a tow yard, the rentals are an add on to the business. The location is behind a strip club; parking is actually in the back of club parking. I arrived about 930; the truck was outside gate, but I was not able to take rental using app; error message stated “equipuipment was not ready.” The staff seemingly had to set up the reservation in the system; apparently it was not ready. I shared the reason for my rental: my mom passed, and I was using the truck to move her furniture and other items to be donated. I recall the conversation about how I had to essentially pay transportation costs to donate my stuff. After entering order, and a couple of attempts to unlock rental by staff, I finally got out about 10:15. The truck ran okay, with 126k miles on it. It looked like it had been parked for a while; there were cobwebs on the mirrors. I was given a cell phone number and asked to text a pic of the odometer when I dropped off the close out the rental. I got gas and dropped off at 7pm. Took pics of the odometer and truck, dropped keys in the box, and texted the worker the info as asked. The real disappointment came when I received the bill a couple hours later. The total was much higher than expected; the bill did not have any clear details or explanation for charges. I called the toll free support line and asked to look at the bill and I described my. Despite my 9-10 rental time, I was charged for 2 days of use. Given that this was manually entered, it seems unlikely this was some sort of random error and more likely a conscious effort to charge me for two days. Even the support agent said “clearly you had it well less than 24 hours”… The rental was $19.99 per day, $15 for insurance, and about $70 in millage; a bill of $171 should have raised some question. While I am certainly understanding of errors that may occur in the workplace, after thinking about this transaction, it’s seemingly was more likely the result of intentionally trying to charge me for two days as opposed to some sort of human or technical error. While I certainly did not expect any special treatment or accommodations, I was honestly renting a truck to make some donations. Seemingly, it would not have been unreasonable for the store or the company to provide some sort of discount, but more importantly very reasonable to assume that they would’ve simply charged me what was appropriate for the transaction. I just think in the future that I will seek to rent from U-Haul locations where their soul focus is on the rental business as opposed to choosing a service where it is just an add-on. Nonetheless, I’m happy that the Support agents on the customer care line were able to resolve the issue and immediately provide a refund.
Jeramy CThis location was a vehicle impound yard. The expectation is that the customer uses the app to complete the pickup process. This would be fine if the app actually worked. It did not. After spending 90 minutes on the phone with customer service, I was provided a bypass code to pick up my rental. This caused a huge delay in my move. I have been using U-Haul all my life; I have never had an experience like this before. The staff was fine, however the policy that you force a customer to jump through hoops for 90 minutes to prove that a piece of technology works when it does not is completely unacceptable.
Alexander DWent to this location after making a reservation with a life representative. Got there a bit early to see how it works. This location was not 24/7 / overnight but informed it was. Then I went to a different location. No prior directions given to me. Got there finally, got the keys and the car is at empty on gas. Very disappointing experience . It was my first time using a U-Haul and probably last.
JOVANI LMake sure to include a contact number for the facility and also mentioned that the U-Haul pickup location and site is inside the actual tow yard.
