I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone for a week so I had to rent a truck from the Dolls motel location in Vincennes, IN which meant I had to pay an extra $40.00 in mileage to get a truck in order to move and I had already spoke to the owner about getting a truck. The next phase of the move I tried Washington location again and no one was at the buisness at the time I was supposed to pick up the truck. It was a big inconvenience and cost me extra money both times I had to rent from U-Haul.

I don't where it got so messed up on my reservation but it cost me 2 hrs. I reserved my truck, online & also spoke with customer service rep. They said I had two reservations but neither were activated. I did all of the mobile early check in online, even thought I paid as well. Went to pick it up during normal business hours & a sign on door saying closed sorry for any inconvenience. Called uhaul, she assured me, my reservation was active & I needed to use the mobile check in to proceed. I couldn't proceed bc neither reservation was active.. so 2hrs later we got our truck & on the road. Prior to all of this, which this us the 2nd time I've had a pick up/ reservation mess. I only wanted a 10ft truck but none available in the area, so they told me we have a 15ft, never offered a discount paid full price for larger truck. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Nothing, the service was top notch
The equipment was well maintained and clean. The equipment had been thru some battles with dings, bumps and scrapes but it was tagged and documented. The automated condition verification tool with the capability to capture initial damage with photos was very intuitive and slick to use. I appreciated the staff at the receiving location in Bloomington Illinois, (U-Haul Moving & Storage of South Veterans) and in particular Kathy and Brian as they were very helpful in setting up the vehicle arrangements and were very pleasant and fast in receiving the equipment once it was dropped off.
I call the ph # 4 times over a 6 day period and no one answered back...their clock on the door said they would be there at 8:30 am each morning to clear truck. No one was there for 4 of the 6 times I stopped at 8:20-35am...we were forced to order on line at your web site...we got an appliance dolly and did not use. Our mistake...the appointment time given over the internet was to pick up a 20 ft truck at 8:30am. Again, no one was there to release the truck to us....we were there at 8:12am and they had already left for a Cleaning job...we waited till 8:47am and then called the ph# listed on the building..they came within 7 minutes of our call...However, Steve said our pick up time was for 9am and the website told us 8:30am..so the 4 men we hired to help move (I just had shoulder surgery and cold not lift) were paid for 45 minutes to do nothing. My wife was very upset and the times given to us on the website should be the same the dealer is to be at the rental location to release the truck...Not at all happy with this rental...however, the return was easy and did not have to take pictures (I fond out the next morning I was to take and send all sorts of pictures and send in and my cheap ph does not have that function...pictures yes but cannot send to another location. I called Steve this morning about a $20 charge for this function and Steve said it was taken care of. Just park it back were I left fm, wipe out the floorboards, record the mileage (12 miles we used it for and put $10 in gas and moved the fuel gauge to 3/8 of a tank...that part was easy, thanks to Steve..
Did not have the equipment that I thought I ordered online. I do not blame the dealer for this error. The dealer in fact made it right.

Cleaner vehicle and a person on site. I had to call a number on door to reach someone. I left a message on voicemail, never received a return call so called again next day. I had to meet on his schedule at this building and then he was over 15 minutes late. Also, the environment of the building was crowded and didnâ€™t feel safe.

Was charged for safe move and did not ask for it.
When I dropped the truck off on Sun. Aug. 18th it was passed business hours. Certified Cleaning was closed.
Make sure truck available at the location. Asked for a 17 ft truck was told they don't have one. Was told 20 would be there. Was changed without my permission to a 26 ft truck and charged for the 25 miles that I was told would be free. Not good service.
Service was professional and prompt. Second rental from this location. Continue to stride for the service we received. NO issues.
Stop telling lies. I was told that I HAD TO do a 2 day rental of the truck and tow dolly, but I would be refunded the second day charges if I dropped it off within the first 24 hours. They told me the drop off location would do the refund. I did drop off the truck and dolly within the first 24 hours. The drop of location said they just receive the equipment. I would have to call the pickup location. I tried and could not get an answer there, so I called 1-800--GO-U-HAUL. This site is for making reservations only. It refers you to a website for any other issues. After calling 3 times asking to speak to a manager at the reservations center, a guy said he could not find anything in writing to verify the refund. The contract is printed in such small print, that I could not even read it with my glasses. I told him the owner's daughter told me about the refund. The agent said, how do I know that you aren't lieing? I called the pickup location again this morning and finally got the owner. He did not have the professionalism to return my call as I had asked on his answering machine. The owner said U Haul controlled the rental contracts and he would not make any refund. As you can see, they have set up a system that gives you the run around and denies anything they said to you in person. My mistake was assuming these people were honest and would honor their word. I am sure this post will never see the light of day for anyone else to see, but if by a mistake it does...get everything in writing and ask for the contract to be in readable print and read every word of it. Better yet, take you business somewhere else!
Hire a new person there with more manners, kindness, and understanding.
The dolly, appliance dolly and furniture pads were not in the truck when I went to pick it up, would like to talk to someone about the charges.
The man informed me that I had 930 miles to get to my destination(not to mention I had to go a total of 40 miles out of my way just to pick up my haul and get it back to my house). Upon arrival to the drop off location the uhaul employee informed me that I had went over my mileage. I was only at 827. So the uhaul dealer in Washington, Indiana completely miss informed me. Also upon arrival for both times I have used uhaul the drop off has been a pain. Although Tate who helped me was very helpful. I believe I will be going with a different rental truck company in the future.
No one was at work at noon when I dropped it off. Sign said back at noon. A person from across the street told me where to leave the trailer. It was a little odd.

Complaint is not with this location. My complaint is that uhaul changed my pick up location because the original didnâ€™t have the size truck I requested. Well have someone drive the damn truck to the location I requested it from! Donâ€™t inconvenience your customer!!! I had to drive an xtra 30-40 miles and over an hour due to heavy traffic!!! I as the consumer shouldnâ€™t have to make the exception! I was never offered a military rate and I know uhaul has offered it in the past! I will never use uhaul services ever again and will ensure that anybody asking me about uhaul Iâ€™ll tell them not to use uhaul either!
Honestly the customer service I had was wonderful. Steve Clifton was very friendly and helpful. Came and opened shop on a Saturday so I could move. I recommend everyone to him. Fantastic guy for sure.
The only complaint I have is that according to my bank account, I was charged 2 times for the same service. I can't see why this should happen. There was no damage or abuse on my part. I don't believe it appropriate to charge my account a double fee.
