There was a small dent in the truck which I did not notice until the next morning. It was dark when I picked up the vehicle. The dent had markings on it that showed that you were aware of the damage. The damage was small and had no impact on our needs for the vehicle. So, I have not problem that the vehicle had the dent. I wish the counter rep had told me about it so I did not spend a few minutes trying to figure out if the van was hit while parked overnight. Once I noticed your stickers I realized this was preexisting damage.

My rental included a dolly for boxes. I picked up my Uhaul after hours and the site forgot to include the dolly. It set my back move, caused me unnecessary physcial labor and I ultimately had to go out and buy at dolly for $80. Customer service offered to refund me the $7 rental fee, which was insulting.

The service and the equipment were good at this location, and I have gone there before. What bothers me, though, is that I checked the van out just a few minutes before closing. Once I got my son into the van and started it, I noticed that the fuel level was closer to 3/4 than to the 7/8, which the sheet I was issued claimed should have been there. It was too late to challenge the assertion that I was being given more, but I assumed that the employees knew that the 7/8 was an approximation. I drove the van conservatively for less than 9 miles, as the odometer shows, and I put one gallon of gas back into the tank to return it back to the level at which I received it. Then, when I got my bill, I was charged $9.00 for additional gas. This struck me as unjust, and makes me reconsider whether I want to continue using U-Haul for my future rental needs.

Don’t nickel and dime us. Vans are advertised at $19.95 loudly, and then there’s fine print like mileage charges and having to put gas in the van. The latter is particularly annoying - I don’t have to put gas into the subway or bus after I pay my fare and it’s not something in normal daily transportation. Also, put the pickup spot closer to the center of town, like by the train station where it’s easier to walk to.

The bed liner of the van contained gravel and dead bugs, which were probably a bit difficult to remove because they were pressed in between the cracks. I would recommend using a different liner material, or sweeping between rentals. The van also had low tire pressure and change oil indicator lights on - not a big deal for my in-town move, but certainly would have been unacceptable had I chosen to take it for a longer ride. Overall OK experience because the staff was quick, no lines, and the location was easy to get to; however maintenance seems to need improvement.

The place was great and the people at that location were helpful. Uhaul main customer service phone line was the worst, was on the phone for "hours" with no answer both times I called, had to use the online chat to get to talk to someone.
