I am not sure how to rate this experience. The staff was friendly and courteous at first. A small cargo van was ready, clean and the renting process was easy. However, there is a twist. When I left the location I was told the van's gas tank was FULL. I was reminded of the hefty gas charge if I didn't return it FULL. I drove the van 18 miles. According to the mpg of the vehicle (15-20 mpg) that might be 1 gallon of gas. When I filled the tank, it took 4 gallons!!!! When I returned the van, and brought this to their attention, all I got was a blank stare and a comment asking if I had "topped it off". I did not top it off and even if I did, it wouldn't have covered the difference! It would have been nice if I was refunded the cost of the gas that I so kindly gave "back" but apparently, didn't use.

I was told that the rate for Friday and Saturday was going to be .69 a mile but was surprised to see we were charged .99 a mile. In my opinion I thought it was very pricey for having the truck just a few hours.

Provide better instructions for how to return equipment after working hours. The sign on the door at the location where I returned the equipment was only applicable to a customer who has a smartphone. There are no instructions for what to do if the customer does not have a smartphone.

They will freely charge your card multiple, substantial amounts without informing you and for no apparent reason. My final bill for truck rental was 755.09. I got the receipt and was ok with this charge considering my usage, I expected a bill in this range. Prior to my final charge, I had been charged 530.02 and prior to that, 146.08. I call their customer service to find out what these two obscure charges are for and she can’t even find them in her system so she puts it in for investigation and says I should be contacted within 72 hours to hear the results. I wait three days and hear nothing, so I research and find the executive assistant to the western ny regional managers number and contact her. She could not find these charges on her system as well but requested I send her a copy of my bank statement verifying these charges that I am contesting. She’s currently working on helping me resolve my problem. She’s the only competent employee I have dealt with during this whole ordeal and I hope she can succeed in correcting this particular location’s (Victor, NY) careless, idiot, negligent mistake. My advice if you’re considering using U-Haul to move: 1. Avoid renting from Victor NY’s branch. 2. Document everything you do. 3. Monitor your card constantly for false charges. 4. Make sure the employee you’re dealing with isn’t incompetent in marking the truck prior to rental for damages and they explain to you in precise detail the contract you are about to sign for. 5. Take pictures of everything you’re using (truck, equipment, etc) before and after. Keep all gas receipts. My final advice, if you decide to take the risk and deal with them. Be polite and courteous but always know in your head you are dealing with a corrupt system that will do everything in its power to drain you of as much of your hard earned income, essentially vampiring your life force in any way possible just because innocent you decided this would be a great place to go to have a nice stress free move. The ironic part is their actions will only fuel the anger of the people and hasten the annihilation of corrupt companies and governments like this. Like an infected limb that must be cut off to save the body, so too will humanity “cut off the infected limb” to save itself and U-Haul is but a part of this infection.

I was running a little late to pick up the morning of my appointment, so I called to let the staff know. There was no person to answer the phone and I was placed on hold by the automated answering machine for over 7 minutes. I hung up and took m chances that the equipment would still be there when I arrived. If you want communication from your clients, you need to staff for answering the phones. Once I arrived, however, the staff was very cordial, knowledgeable and professional.

When you give a customer a reservation and confirmation with the total amount due, stick to that agreement. My total increased by $350 and there was no truck available on the day I reserved. I had to wait 3 days and pay an additional $350. I will never use uhaul ever again, nor ever recommend it to anyone. On top of delaying my move 3 days, the customer service representatives on the phone were rude, disrespectful and not helpful at all. Horrible experience all together.

The mileage allowed is not enough to make it from point A to point B. I was at most 5 miles over the driving the straightest and shortes t route possible. Instead I was told I was 23 miles over. I feel like i am being nickeled and dimed to death.

Our time was changed from 8am to 4:30pm for pick up because when you request a truck online it's a preferred time and the confirmation does not make the change clear enough. Also we were given a different truck than our contract showed and wait times in the store were extremely long. Very disappointed in the online and in store service

The two reps in the store were very helpful. It seemed that there was some kind of system difficulty for every person that came in. Reservations were incorrect, payments and screens we getting hung up. They did a great job working around everything but it seemed the software was causing a lot of issues.

The staff at the Victor Uhaul were awesome. By far my best experience with Uhaul. Fastest pickup I’ve ever had. They were polite, helpful and working hard, especially the lady that got my truck ready for pickup. It had just been returned and she got it cleaned and ready in minutes. Returning my equipment was a breeze, too. Great people at this Uhaul. I definitely recommend!
