As all the reviews on google state they mark the gas higher when you check out the van. He also didn't give me a receipt so if I wasn't paying attention to where he marked it I wouldn't have known. Also the van had many dings and dents. None of them had been marked with uhaul stickers indicating it's known damage. The gentleman at the front desk told me to take a video before driving off. The van was dirty. Thankfully when I brought it back there were no issues.

Jessica Villeneuve 514-791-3688 # 29989368 Hello, It was my first experience with U Haul and it was very disappointing. The location on Dundas (TO) where I picked up the Van literaly gave me the keys and pointed me from the inside when the Van was parked. I realised now that I should have said something but I was so nervous for my big moving day that I just left. I used to rent cars a lot and they are always full of gaz at first so I was not worried about that but after 10 minutes I realized that it was completely empty. I freaked out because I was stock in the traffic in the highway. I finally found a gaz station and everything was fine until I dropped out the Van in Montreal. First, I didnt want to Gaz the Van since they gave it to me completely empty. I had a charge of 18$ because of that. The guy charged me also 150$ for the dammage of the Van (i've paid for the assurance) even if nothing happened with the Van when I have it, and told me it was my responsability to take pictures of it on the first day and that the U haul in Toronto should have filled out a report, and there's none. Nobody explained me this AT ALL. Nothing happened with the Van and I found this extremely unprofessional to charge me for something I didnt do. Also, the guy at U haul in Mtl told me the inside of the Van was very dirty and I should have cleaned that before, which is this time again not my fault cause I've moved only clothes, shoes and a TV! I called the customer service last night and I have been told I should expect a call from a manager very soon. Im gonna fight for this because its so unfair and unprofessional from the location in Toronto. Thank you for your time! Jessica

I had a TERRIBLE experience with Uhaul. It had nothing to do with the location and everything to do with their online system and customer support. I had a move out time of 7 am and booked an afterhours pickup for 6 am. I made sure to do the step by step tutorial of how to use the system before I went. I couldn't get the system to work. I went online to chat to customer support and they were VERY unhelpful. I called and spoke to three different reps. No one could help me. I missed my window to move out and was fined by the venue for not exiting within my alloted time.

Received call 2h prior to pickup saying truck would only be available with several hours delay, sending us into re-booking frenzy with regard to moving helpers, elevator, loading dock. Then calling back saying it was available on time after all. Upon arrival at pickup location being completely ignored by the employees for 10 minutes while they were smoking and chatting casually - not so much as an acknowledgment of my presence. A third person finally processed us after I expressed my bewilderment. Overall very unprofessional impression.

Overall a bad experience with this location. Here were my issues: 1. Charges card without giving receipt - I upgraded my truck from 10 to 15 feet. Although the website said this would be an additional charge of $10, I was charged $50. No receipt was given until I questioned the charge 2. Truck was dirty. The outside had obviously not been cleaned. 3. Management charged card without notifying me. I saw that I was charged an additional $100 immediately after I had left. I was not called or emailed about this charge. I found out about it after reviewing my credit card statement. Overall unhappy with my experience. Would discourage anyone from renting from this location. If you do, ask for signed contracts on everything.

My issue was not with the pick-up location or the quality/cleanliness of the equipment, but rather that lack of communication between the website taking the bookings, and the scheduling department. I booked a cargo van on the Uhaul website 7 days prior to my scheduled move date for 10:30am – 5:30pm, I was then sent an email form Uhaul saying this date/time/location was confirmed. Two days before my move date, I was sent a text from Uhaul saying that my van was confirmed for 11:00am – 4:00pm (not the time I requested/needed). When I called and asked about the time change, I was told that the van wasn’t available the for the entire time I requested. I understand that at the first of the month it’s very busy, but had I known the van wasn’t available for the times I needed when making the booking online, I would have made alternative arrangements with another company. I specifically needed the van until 5:30pm, as it was to coincide with the elevator booking at my condo. Because of this I had no choice but to pay a $45 late charge! Why is there no communication between the website that takes the booking and the available fleet/inventory? (or a better question is, why does it take 4 days?). I think this is a major flaw with your system, and I voiced my concerns to the attendant at the pick-up depot and even he sheepishly agreed with me.

I paid for my rental when I dropped it off. I had borrowed a friend's credit card and told him there would be no charge to his card. But his card was charged $22.60. What is this charge for? I'd think you should tell someone what you are charging them for.

The trucks engine was making a lot of noise when I first picked it up. The engine RPM was revving with a slight press on the gas, while on D and the parking break was off. The tow/hull button was the reason, which comes on every time you start the engine, so you have to turn it off for the truck to run smoothly. They should tell you that upon pick up.

THIS LOCATION IS AWESOME BUT UHAUL IS TERRIBLE! I wanted to write a complaint about UHAUL but this review form is only for the location. It's long but please read if you're looking for a truck in downtown toronto. I needed a truck for 7am and picked a location near my home that opened at that time. I received a phone message that they were open at 9am (contrary to what the website said and the time i NEEDED). I was never informed that the location had been switched from my preferred location that I had booked. I went to that location to resolve the issue the night before and it DOESN"T exist! After fruitless calls to Uhaul and not being able to get through to other locations, a day before my move, I drove around trying to find a location that opened in the time that i needed a truck for. This dundas location was really great and helpful unlike the UHAUL telephone customer service. When i called to get to the bottom of it, I was sent to three different people (none of whom resolved the issue). Today I called to tell them to remove the location 80 Geary (it is a tattoo shop) to save someone the stress I went thtough and they told me they won't as it will be a uhual again in the future!!??? When I asked on Geary street where the uhaul was, I was told by someone there that happens all the time! UHAUL said it was a "preferred lcoation" but I WASNT INFORMED of a location change. I went to the location on my emailed booking transaction! I also asked them why they would change the location to one that doesn't even open in the time frame i needed the truck for and Not only would they not take responsibility for not letting me know, they said i was also one of hundreds of clients and it is just sent to the nearest lcoation (which it was not). Dundas was equal, if not closer, and opens at 7am. Thank you DUNDAS for allowing me to move in my scheduled time!

Was never told I would be charged a "cleaning fee" ($5) or a "coverage fee" ($15). I did not leave it here truck dirty at all. It was already dusty. And I would l have opted out of the "coverage" if anyone had bothered to mention it. The person who gave me the car said two words to me. Asked for my credit card and said here's your truck. Very impersonal.
