The staff (gray hair, around 50-year-old) is very helpful and responsive. I couldn't find the nod to release the parking brake, then he arrived at the U-haul parking lot in less than 3 minutes after I called him. (the parking lot has some distance from the rental office and he had to drive there)

Truck needed sweeping, and lacked dolly and furniture pads. Also, the gas tank was empty enough that the instrument panel warned "45 miles to E" (Empty) at startup. I drove it 8 feet to turn out of the pickup location onto the street, and the warning became 44 miles. Not a problem for me in this case, but it may in many cases prevent a customer from choosing a gas station, as opposed to using the first handy one. This pickup location was so crowded there was no safe/courteous to others place to park/wait in our car to sign out the rental van!

Even after online check-in, still spent 45 minutes at the pickup location. The pickup location equipment storage site was over a mile away from the office. The rates they charged wear different than what I was quoted, even after showing them the receipt, they had no way of adjusting it at that time. The light connection was crushed, the trailer Inside was dirty with piles of sand in the corners. The lights on the trailer required constant attention and only work intermittently.

Funky smells always make me weary to use the van to move personal belongings, otherwise easy and convenient. Good people at the admin. Very expensive on the gas and the millage is only 50km before they up the price.

The attendant that assisted us with our pickup was very rude in general. The computer to check us in was not working, so he was communicating with a uhaul representative over the phone. He automatically charged us for insurance without asking, and had to reverse the charges after the fact when we said we didn't wish to purchase it. The whole process to check in took over an hour. In addition, he wrote down all of our credit card information (including the security code) and would not destroy it in front of us as he believed he may need it later. This is a breach of our privacy, and I will be following up with Uhaul on this.

Trailer hitch in rough shape needs attention. Spent a lot of time fussing with assembly to be get it to mount on ball.



I have an order confirmation for a 26' moving van. When I arrived at 10 AM to pick up this van, I was given a small cargo van instead, and told that nothing else was available. This cause enormous inconvenience to me for my move yesterday, and I am extremely dissatisfied with this service.

I was charged as I drove 60 miles when I actually drove 4 miles. I sent an email about it, and I have not received any answer so far.



The van was new and ran well but smelled like farm animal was transported in it(literally - I used to work on a farm so I know this smell)



The truck was extremely dirty and smell like urine and overall just smelled horrible. Please ensure best to your ability the vehicles are clean

After driving to the location that we were told to drop the truck off there was no parking for the truck. It was also after hours so we were not able to ask where the truck should be left. Luckily someone from the area told us about the parking lot for the truck - which was well over a km away from the location given. We were also double charged for insurance - once at either end (pick up and delivery).

I made a reservation on a 26” truck and when I got there it was not available and the last truck was given away just before me so I had to settle for a shorter truck 15” which then made me have to multiple runs which caused me to get over charged for km’s . And I got charged the same flat fee as the 26”. I feel I should get discounted the km due to the inconvenience this caused me and the agents in the store were not very professional.

I booked the pick up at one location only to find out, on the morning of when I was there to pick it up, that they had changed my pick up location to another place (all the way across the city). It took me an extra hour or more to get out there and back to pick it up. The location I did pick it up from was closed when I got there (45 minutes after what was supposed to be my pick up time) and my moving van wasn't even stored at that location. When I mentioned all the issues I was having to the employee who finally showed up all he had to say was "things never go easy when moving eh?" I'm done with U-Haul.

The van I rented smelled awful. It was a mixture of cat urine and cigarettes. The smell stuck to my clothes when I got out. When I left my contract said the gas tank was 3/4 full. When I got it the van it was at half. I went back inside to have the guy check. He looked at it and changed my contract to say "one drop above half" his exact words. I returned the van with substantially more gas than I drove off with. When I got my receipt he attached a different contract that says I left with 5/8 a tank. He charged me 17 dollars for gas. I am going to call and demand my money back tomorrow out of principle. This is very sleazy. I will not be using U-Haul ever again and will advice my friends against it as well in their upcoming moves.



More Van because sometimes is fully book im just lucky coz theres 1 van left...usually you need to go online to book for yourself...

the truck wasn't where I requested it close to home, Forgot to give blankets which were paid for, Had to run out to pick up blankets at another close U Haul spot, the truck had a sign $25 for dirty truck and blankets not folded, I am sure they charged the last customer and didn't clean up truck.Was told by U Haul new drop off spot 14 kms away, More like 34 KMS!!! would never happen agan!!!



Actually clean out the vans. When we went to pick up the van, there was a mattress, couch cushion and blanket left in the van. The person working didn't even remove when we told them it was there. They just told us to throw it anywhere and they would take care of it later. Also make sure that everyone has the equipment they pay for. Retrain your coworkers on the system. Have some sort of key organization. The person working had keys all over the desk and had to get one of us to go out to the lot to see what trucks were there.

I booked for 9:30am online but was given 10:30am a day before my move. I called a day before to confirm after received a confirmation email but they had trouble finding my order. Finally they managed to track my order under my middle name. When I thought all was good, I went to pick it up, again they told me they didnt have my reservation! Even after I showed them the email. When they found it, it was under my first and middle name. It was so stressful for me. Then the truck was under half tank. Took a pic and showed it to the drop off guy. I didn't have time to complain bcoz I would be late for my elevator booking. I refilled over half a tank after use becoz I couldn't estimate how much to top it to half. I am totally unhappy with u-haul terms and I would never recommend your service to any of my friends.
