I rented a truck on a Sunday morning. I was asked when I would be returning with the truck and I responded around 3pm. We estimated my travel and cost for that time frame. Matthew explained that $100 would be charged to me card at pick up and later when I return, I would be credited back to my account the remainding after the true amount that was estimated between 70-80 bucks. I later returned at 3:51pm. I was told by an employee that I would be emailed my receipt after the truck was inspected at drop off, so I left. Later I noticed in my bank account I was charged an additional $64, so I called Uhaul to speak to someone about the charges. I was told the charge was for an extra day as well as insurance. I was told the manager would get back to me and I have still not heard from him. I have followed up with Erica, and Marcus both very polite and tried to be helpful. I was instructed to dispute these charges as they are a mistake. Im hopeful that Uhaul will take care of this promptly for me as after moving these charges are very impacting.

Hello, I have been renting U-Haul trucks for quite a while now on a pretty frequent basis. This last rental was an absolute awful experience. I did the self checkout on my phone while in the parking lot. However, I had to go inside to get my key. I waited in line for literally more than 20 minutes while the store manager couldn’t get the computer system to work and couldn’t check out the guy at the counter. Instead of asking if anyone else needed help while the computer situation got figured out, he ignored everyone else in the store. I am not sure why the store manager isn’t able to override the computer system in his own store, but that is beyond me. Several people walked in the store and cut right to the front of the line to ask their questions. There were 2 occasions where the store manager (only person at the counter) actually left the counter to go outside to help these customers. All I needed was a key and he couldn’t do that for me. I ended up going outside to the side of the store where I found another employee filling the air in tires. I asked him if he could juts grab my key since the store manager was able to assist pretty much everyone else but me. I ended up being there for more than a half hour (so much for the “quick” self checkout). I was 15 minutes late to my appointment because of this and had to come back to get the truck after my appointment. I also rented an appliance dolly (for an extra fee, of course). When I got to my location to start loading the truck, there was NO dolly in the back of the truck. Talk about embarrassing once you get to the location and have no way of moving it. This entire experience really upset me as I have used U-Haul for years and have never had an experience like this one. Not to mention my fuel gauge was lower in the truck than what the contract read, but I already wasted enough time trying to get the keys. I wasn’t going to try and waste a whole hour trying to pick up the truck. I will not be using this location again, and will be searching for other truck rental options.

The staff were very courteous considering the call center that made my equipment rental reservation didn’t bother to check that they didn’t even have those items in stock. Luckily they unknowingly had one of the items in the back and we were able to made due. Again, very helpful and nice to us even thought we we obviously frustrated that what we ordered wasn’t even available. UHAUL really needs to ensure information between corporate and actual stores is up to date because running into that problem is completely unacceptable.

Work with more patience with customers and employees. The guy in charge kept bouncing from person to person, making the wait time twice as long, then when employee comes in from outside to help, the guy started hovering over his work and basically kicked him out. Also showed impatience and attitude he tried to tell me to return there instead of other site. Though I reserved online, he kept trying to make me return to original. Feel bad for whoever works with him.

Over the phone, we were told our cargo van reservation was at one location (University and Rural in Tempe AZ) at 2:15, but we get there and they have no record of us. Turns out they reserved us at a completely different location (2340 E Apache Blvd) for 3:00. Once at the correct location, customer service was slow and poor. Workers not at the desk kept interrupting for help on other tasks, causing service to be slower than necessary. I've used this location multiple times in the past with little to no issues. I was very disappointed with the customer service this time around.

It felt like the employees were overloaded and over-worked. They were slow at taking care of each customer, and it took me about 40 min to get my moving truck. It could have just been a busy day, but I would have liked to get out of there in a timely manner.

What can be done and what is being done is two different solutions. The difference is ACTION! In the past this location had a crew which was there every time I visited! The same faces! Doing the same monotonous routine over and over. They became friends and called me by my first name. Recently there was a problem concerning how a person reads a fuel gage. Haft full or half empty just under or over some point. Computers don’t work with JUST over or close too. They work with numbers only! The contract had a marker indicating a specific level. The actual gage reading did not match the contract because of interpretations of the employee imputing the information. This is not brain surgery and is not an issue that is going to break U Hauls bank account. There was a big difference in the final attempt to correct this issue. U haul was going to win this isssue regardless of my input. I purchased 4.7 gallons when it should have been 9. $14.00 give or take and I have the receipt to prove my purchase. U haul charged me an additional $30.00 and the gage read lower than when I started in the first place on the contract not on the Truck. On my second rental this week I returned the truck with more fuel than what I started with! So far no comment from U Haul. I have meant my obligations as a customer breaking even!

I dropped the trailer off Friday, June 15th around 3 PM. The employee detached the trailer after he checked the brake lights and turn signals. He told my brother-inlaw he would email receipt. I never received an email. I had to call the shop on the 19th to be told there was no record of drop off. Marcus spent his time and finally located trailer buried behind other stuff.
