I had a very poor experience here. The guys were nice enough, as far as that went, but I don't feel they took care of me. After I returned the trailer I noticed that I had been charged an extra $60+ dollars in addition to the original charge. I called up the place and was told it was a cleaning fee and a second days rental. I wasn't able to iron it out over the phone, so I went in the next day to try to iron it out. I had rented on a Saturday and made very particular care to find out how to return on a Sunday. The guy said I could do it on the phone, or just pay for an extra day, which really struck me as grabby at the time, like he wanted to make sure to get the money and wasn't going to let me get away with anything. A snowstorm was forecast the next day and I didn't want the thing stuck in my driveway and was very clear to him about it. He told me to just drop it back in the spot Sunday, that they were switching over to a new system, but to just do it that way, which I did. When I went in to hash out the excess charge with him he showed me a picture of the interior of the trailer, which I had clearly neglected to sweep. It did look like two minutes of sweeping. I was unhappy for several reasons. 1st, because my two minute oversight would be used against me for a $25 fine. 2nd, because nobody mentioned anything about cleaning the thing when I picked it up - not one word. It's pretty obvious and undoubtedly in the contract, but it's the kind of thing that should be mentioned every time. That alone I would chalk up to bum luck, but to thirdly have been overcharged and in a way that really came off as an aggravated money grab - by the guy I had had the very specific conversation about Sunday return with was incredibly frustrating. He went on about how he had had to clean the trailer and was the first to explain the cleaning charge with the phrase (I am not your mom) in his defense, I was pretty frustrated. He said he could not remove the 2nd day overcharge, that the manager would have to do it. I told him to have the manager call me. At this point I had spent much more time dealing with their mistakes than they had dealing with mine, and felt it was unfair of them to keep the fine money, a point I made, but to deaf ears. The manager did not call me so I went back the next day. Someone else was there. He looked up my account and could only find the original charge. I figured maybe it had been resolved, so I went home and looked up the charges but they were still there. On my final trip to deal with the overcharges this morning the manager was there. He said he had refunded the overcharge but would not refund the cleaning fee. I tried to point out that I had had to make 3 trips back to the store to iron out their mistake whereas mine had caused them 2 minutes with a broom and dustpan. This was the second time that I was explained the cleaning charge with the phrase "I am not your mom" and furthermore was told that their overcharging my a

Nothing. The personnel at Hinds & Hinds, Taos, NM, were very friendly, professional, and helpful...excellent service and convenient and orderly facility. Loaded boxes in my car, later loaded dolly in my car and unloaded it when I returned it, gave credit for some boxes I returned, had all the paperwork, documentation, and receipts I needed. When I arrived for the trailer they thanked me for my patronage, hooked up the trailer and bid me safe driving. Could not be more accommodating. Outstanding representatives for UHaul.

The only problem I had with Uhaul was the phone calls I made to the only phone number on the paperwork. The people I talked to were not at all sympathetic with my plight. I had movers stuck in the California fires and had to vacate my apartment at a day past the date to be out. The only recourse I had was to do it myself, luckily I was all packed up the guys I hired through you, were wonderfully fast and patient. I got to my destination a day late and then Thanksgiving got me even more behind, then the directions and address were very difficult to find here in Taos. But I did it with 3 cats and being almost 69 I feel like it was super human of me. I was exhausted by the time I got here.

My comment is not about Hinds & Hinds in Taos, where I finally dropped off the trailer. Aside from not being well-marked as a U-Haul site, when I finally found it, the agent there was helpful and made the check-in process easy. The problem: I scheduled to drop the trailer at Eagle Nest U-Haul. Just before I left my residence to drop the trailer, I called to assure I was still within business hours and to let the agent know I was on my way. I spoke instead with a U-Haul rep who informed me that the Eagle Nest U-Haul was closed until the 26th of November, a week distant. She reported that I could do a self-drop but needed to open an account on-line and follow instructions when I delivered the trailer. I drove to the Eagle Nest facility. Not only was it closed; the entrance was roped off, and I couldn't get in to drop the trailer. I pulled the trailer back to my residence in Angel Fire, then delivered the trailer to Taos the next day. While everything worked out, it was annoying and unnecessary, took a lot of extra time, and added about 60 miles of pulling a trailer around trying to get it delivered. On top of that, I knew from the first that delivering the trailer to Taos would run about $80.00 less than dropping the trailer at Eagle Nest, but I opted to deliver there because of time and miles saved, and because it was more convenient. No U-Haul agent at any point of contact (and there were several) informed me that I wouldn't be able to drop at Eagle Nest at all. Then I paid $80.00 more, and still had to drive to Taos (should have been a cheaper rate) with the extra fuel expense and time involved. My opinion: that additional cost that I paid for the convenience of dropping the trailer at Eagle Nest but didn't get should be refunded to me. I hesitate to rent from U-Haul again.

The truck was clean though not well maintained. Back tires were not all the same size, the truck needs an alignment. My husband is an expierenced heavy equipment CDL operator who had difficulty driving because of the tired and alignment issues. Everyone we talked to at UHaul 1-800 # were nice. The pickup and drop off personnel were ok. This location is on the main Taos hwy a bit difficult to locate initially and out of the way for us. We drove 50 miles to pick up the truck. This tesulted in a loss of half our day packing.

Didn't have everything we ordered. No book on oporations of vehicle. We had ordered pads they were there. And when quoted price didn't mention taxes were to be added. So quote didn't match finall payment at pick up. Truck ran amazing very pleased with it. Might I suggest that quotes include taxes for where ever pick up is. It would make the experience much better for the customers.

I need to rent the trailer for one day to preload for upcoming trip. I think that the $40 that I spent on the rental today should be put towards my uhaul rental next week when I have the trailer in excess of five days, other than that James was excellent!!!!! Love Uhaul.

I have to watch closer at gas. I know I did not burn off $19 worth of gas and that is what it took to get it back to half tank. The two other times I rented this truck I drove twice the miles and used half the gas.
