Very poor customer service.

I requested an in-store pickup (not the Truck Share phone app) and was then assigned to pick up my rental at a location that was closed during my confirmed pick up time. The owner had to come in to help me get my van and was clearly annoyed at having to do so. Having requested in store pick up, I was never alerted by U-Haul or this neighborhood dealer that I would need to use the app instead. It is particularly frustrating because there is another U-Haul neighborhood dealer half a mile down the road that is open seven days per week for in-store pick ups and I have gone there before and they're always very friendly and helpful.

Nothing to do with this particular location however, I would say that when I went to drop off the truck at 930 and realized U-Haul had changed my drop off I was furious. It had a location over 20 miles away! Then I realized I had missed the text and of course I’m moving I don’t check my phone or email all day to find out that even though my contract said drop off in one town... I was texted later in the day after I picked up the vehicle ... to drop it off 25 miles from that location. Then I called customer service wait time 30 mins sitting in the dark in a parking lot: so I call back... instead of choosing the option for customer service I choose “make a reservation” guess what? Instantly get a person!!!!!! After she hears my issue shshe can’t help me only “customer service can” so I asked if she was going to make me wait another 30 mins she said no.... but I still waited another 30mins: by now I am tired and beyond enraged she guide me through downloading their app as she changed my drop off location then I have to create an account... then I have to upload pictures of inside the truck etc..:: turns out 1 hour and 40 minutes it took me to return a U-Haul truck. Thank you to the customer service representative to finally helped me. And U-Haul... you really need to hire adequate personnel to appropriately manage the volume of calls received .:.that’s absurd... in addition... don’t change someone’s drop off location via email saying “per our conversation” which never happened because NOONE ever TALKED to me.. after someone has already picked up their truck: that is unbelievable.

Limited Room To park the large truck. No communication from location expecting our drop off and informing us where they wanted the truck. I picked the best location I could that would not block the limited drive or access to store front.

The area to drop of a trailer is a little crowded. I dropped off after hours. Backing it in was a little tricky, alone after a long day. or maybe I lake skills.

The 15' U-Haul truck was very old. It had 116K miles on it. During the course of 1-day I drove it 270 miles. By the end of the trip, the transmission was missing when it shifted into high gear around 40-45 mph. I called the site location owner to report that this truck is about ready to break down. I'm lucky it didn't break down on me.

When I returned the truck, the attendant instructed me to leave the truck key on the counter top. Days later, I received an email receipt that explained that I had returned the truck in the condition in which I had received it. There were no additional charges.

This was a great location, as the staff are very friendly and easy to locate. There is a car dealership at the same location so it was a little nerve racking trying to get the 26’ truck out, but I would still recommend this location

My initial reservation was for Worthington Galena. My account said see you Saturday at 9am at Worthington Galena. When I showed up they had no record of it being scehduled. The front desk said that they had never seen this happen before. Traffic control then scheduled my pickup for Sunbury at 5:45. Although I was very pleased with this location and Steve I was not happen with my overall eperience with UHAUL.

After arriving and seeing that we needed a larger truck, the representative called another customer to see if they would take the smaller truck. The other customer initially did want a smaller truck to begin with. This worked out perfectly for us. All U-Haul locations should clone this associate, he is the true meaning of what customer service is and use to be. He made our already stressful experience, a little bit easier.

Steve from Driven made a mistake in his schedule for my pick up time. I specified 2:00pm and the e-mail from U-Haul confirmed 2:00pm but, when I arrived at 1:55pm no one was at the business. I called Steve’s phone and he said he had me down for 3:00pm and couldn’t get there much sooner. I was/am very irritated that the mistake moved my schedule back an hour as I had someone waiting on me. What I am mad about, is Steve argued the time with me till the end. Even when I pointed out my email confirmation for 2:00pm, he simply said he had it down for 3:00pm. He never apologized for his error in any way. I do understand mistakes happen but in a service business you should be able to swallow your pride and say sorry for the mistake.
