Rented a utility trailer. Previous customer apparently used it to transport yard waste. Trailer still had some grass clippings and sticks in it - not a lot, but enough to be noticeable. Just sweeping out or leaf-blowing the trailer would have make a big difference. Note the trailer was in god condition, and importantly, the lights (running, brakes, turn signals) all worked. I checked in on-line, so have no complaints about how long check-in took once I arrived. But when I arrived, it was obvious that I was wasting Adrian's time. He slouched behind his desk, largely grunted answers, pushed the forms at me to sign, and just was not very polite. In contrast, when I returned the trailer, there was a second gentleman there who greeted me very courteously and was very friendly. Maybe Adrian should do the paperwork and this other gentleman (I regret that I didn't get his name) should do the customer service. Despite Adrian's demeanor, I would recommend the location because it is convenient and the spacious parking lot makes it easy to load up.

Well we had a slight issue about requested time. We asked for 8am, was told 11:30 am, manager moved it to 9am which was perfect, but the staff on hand didn't know that. It did all work out.

This U-Haul location is managed rather unprofessionally. For one thing the door to the business is locked during business hours so you have to call to let them know you are there. And then you can hardly understand what they are saying. If I'd have known this, I would have gone out of my way to go to another U-Haul location.

Proprietor did not visually check my tow package on my vehicle, did not visually check to see if the trailer was properly hooked up, and did not check to see if trailer lights worked. He charged me $35 for damage protection without asking if I wanted it. I told him that I did want damage protection, but wanted the $25 protection package. He told me that there isn't a $25 protection package for multiple days. (I had the trailer Friday - Sunday) Is that accurate?

Poor customer service. Clearly a family run operation with pit bull dog in the office and family members throughout. Not curious or appreciative of customers. Just told me to go hook up the trailer myself. Did not perform safety checks until I asked them to. Will never return.

Rented two trucks in last month. First truck, they put hte wrong truck number down, which caused a significant delay when dropping the truck off in Waukesha. Most recent rental indicated truck's gas level was on full, when in fact it was between 5/8 and 3/4. Called U-Haul national CS number to make sure I wasn't charged for gas. Nice people at Tug Away, just too much work for staff to allow them to focus correctly on rental details.

This is a little unfair - because originally my drop off location was different. I had to call UHaul after trying to drop it off at the original location (where they would not accept the keys) and after a half hour on the phone in the parking lot with the truck, they switched me to Tug Away Towing. I was assured my contract would reflect that I dropped the truck off at this new location. So, some of this feedback is directed toward UHaul as a whole instead of just Tug Away Towing. I then received an email a few days later and then a call a few days after that. They said they couldn't find my UHaul. Originally I thought this had something to do with the drop off location switch at the last minute, but it turns out they really couldn’t find the truck at Tug Away Towing. I went to the location myself, and noticed that the truck had been moved. I went inside to talk with someone, and the only employee was on the phone. He had it on speaker phone, and he was speaking with some marketing representative/salesperson (not a customer). While I waited in the lobby for 10 minutes – late for work – he finally took a moment to ask me what I needed. I explained the situation. He got off the phone a few minutes later and looked for the keys. He didn’t have the keys. Well, I knew someone had the keys because the truck had been moved. So, we went out into the lot and (THANKFULLY!) found it out there. He still didn’t know where the keys were. Luckily, I was able to go to the location myself, otherwise I feel it would have taken significantly more time, and I likely would have been responsible for the truck. I felt the customer service was very poor – both on the overall UHaul corporation level and at the drop off location level. I can’t specifically say what could have been done better, but so much about this situation made me feel regretful for using UHaul.
