Location is a business that just happens to do UHaul as well. The location only had one person working at the time. She was having to handle customers for her retail location in addition to UHaul duties. She might have been 5'2" and maybe 100lbs. There is no way she could lift the 6x12 trailer to aid in getting it on my hitch. Normally when I rent a UHaul trailer, the location provides someone to help me get connected and test the lights before I leave. This location had multiple demands on the sole worker. She took me out to the trailer and said good luck. I ended up throwing my back out trying to lift the trailer and connect it to my hitch. This impacted my ability to be effective during the move over the next 4 days. I also wanted to purchase UHaul moving boxes. This location did not sell them. Don't get me wrong - the gal who worked with me was incredibly patient and helpful! I strongly recommend that this location staff someone who can help with services to UHaul's standards. In the long run, this will reduce overall stress for customer and employee(s), and reduce the risk of accidents and injury.

Reservation # 21642094 We initially rented a 26’ truck for our move. On the morning of the move, we were contacted by U-haul and were informed that the only 26’ available was in Turbeville, SC, which was 27 miles away. The only option made available to us was a 20’ truck. We knew that this was not going to work. But this was our only option. On the way to pick up the 20’ truck, I stopped by S&S Muffler, the place we were originally to pick up the 26’ truck. He had the truck but had not checked the truck in. When he made attempts to log in, he was unable to. I waited at least 30 minutes while he tried to log in. He was unsuccessful, so I left and went to pick up the 20’ truck. We feel that U-Haul did not treat us fairly in this situation. We have rented from U-Haul a great deal in the past 10 years. We have never any damages or additional charges ever posted to our accounts. • We felt that if we had picked the 26’ truck up in Turbeville, SC, we still would have been charged for the mileage. • The 20’ was simply too small. We had products from a 3 bedroom that we were moving. This definitely meant that we were going to put additional miles on the truck because of its size. • We also had to take additional days off from work, because we had to make additional trips. • I checked the box for the insurance which was $42.00. When I arrive to pick the 20’ truck the insurance was $56.00. The final invoice was at $84.00. Why was there a difference? • The initial online amount was $187.00. When I pick the 20’ truck up, it was $287.00 • I had to extend the reservation an additional day. The Independent Dealer called us and asked when you will be bringing the 20’ truck back. I informed him that we extended the reservation through Friday. He says that it does not show up in his system that the reservation was extended. I needed to have the truck back here by Saturday morning. • When we arrived to drop the truck off, we could not find a drop box for the keys. So we had to leave the keys inside the unlocked truck. • We were also dejected when we saw other dealerships that had 26’ Truck available in Sumter, SC. There were a lot of things that went wrong. The confirmation on the truck was incorrect. There was never any effort on U-Haul’s part to make any kind of compensation for giving us a smaller truck. I see all the dealerships popping up, but this has shown me that quantity does not equal to quality. This situation was really bad. We feel that nothing short of total reimbursement is in order. We do feel that because of this we cannot trust U-Haul or its independent representatives.
