We were charged for insurance when we did not agree to it. I called a representative that day after I saw the transaction on my bank and was told someone would contact us. A week has gone by since the call and no one has contacted us. We returned our uhaul yesterday no one was at the location. We were just charged another $25. We will not be using uhaul again. I feel scammed.

U-Haul needs a single large Rep in the Summerville SC area, having numerous locations who don't have a full inventory of equipment makes it very challenging. This location had one truck 2 small trailers, and 2 car haulers. But, they did a great job getting me going no problems with them.

The lady that helped me with purchasing the rental is the only positive in this situation. The check engine light had been on since the first time I turned on the ignition and ultimately broke down on me while trying to return the truck the next night. After waiting 45 mins for a response from customer service, I was told to leave the truck where it broke down at because the repair people were "running behind", so I had to call someone to come pick me up. I continued to receive 3 more phonecalls past midnight (3 to 4 hours later) informing me that the repair person was doing their best to get to me asap. Through all of this, I did not even get an apology, much less any kind of reimbursement for my time and trouble of dealing with their poorly maintained equipment! Very Dissatisfied with this company and will NOT recommend nor rent from again!

The truck arrived one hour late and when I drove it to my storage location about 10 miles from the pick up location and parked the truck I noticed smoke coming from around the wheels. I waited over an hour more after calling to report the condition for a repair truck then over another hour waiting for the mechanic to receive instructions on what to do with the truck then over an hour for someone to contact me. Finally was contacted by a supervisor who found another truck and I had to drive to another city to pick it up, this was 4:30 pm and I had to get to the pick up location by 5:00 pm. I was delayed for a whole day.

This has been the worst uhaul experience I have ever had. I have used Uhaul a couple of times and referred people on multiple occasions and never had such difficulty. The level of service I have received from each individual in this process (except for 2 people in customer service, wish I had their names) has been absolutely horrendous. Let me start from the beginning. I originally wanted a 16' Uhaul. It would not let me select this from the website so I opted for a 20' and tow dolly, which worked. The day before my reservation, I got a confirmation phone call for my 26' Uhaul and tow dolly. I was not given any other option. To many people, this may be great (free extra space) me on the other hand...I barely have enough to fill up one 16' truck. I signed my rental agreement and told my friend with me and the guy at the desk (the manager) that I would just return the truck without refueling and pay the difference because there was no way I could get this thing in a gas station, it was just me, I had no one to direct me! So I watch it like a hawk the entire time. I used a quarter tank, stayed well under my miles even with pick up and drop off, and planned to pay the $3.50 per gallon for 11.5 gallons to get it back to half a tank (per my signed rental agreement). Well I show up at the obscure rental location/consignment shop and drop my keys in the key drop as they are closed. I figured theyd call me to run my card for the fuel cost. Not at all. Happened to check my account where $124 had been drafted that Monday (even though they were closed?) and this is where the fun starts. I called said consignment shop. Little girl tells me its on empty....except for that I KNEW it was not. Unfortunately I do not have picture proof. When I objected...she said "well its a little above empty". Still...not okay. How do I even know she was looking at the correct truck? I was directed to call customer service, so I did. This first girl was rude, but she filed my objection. I should receive I call within 72 hrs. Called that Wednesday to check status, and was told to call back today if I did not receive a call. Called today because of course I did not receive a call back. NO ONE KNOWS WHERE A MANAGER IS. So I call my local store back in Savannah as my pick up location, the only one I have ever had personal experience with and its always been decent. I got a girl on the phone who says the manager will not speak with me, that I needed to call where I picked the truck up at. Um hello, that's exactly what I am doing. So she tells me to hold and that she will transfer me (to the manager I am assuming...ps I wasn't sure if he could fix the problem...just needed SOME insight on what I should do) well back to the automated customer service line I go where I have to tell my entire story again and Oh what do you know....still we have no idea where a manager is. She says she reached out to the area field manager and I should receive a call. This customer service rep was very po

First things first! you owe me some money back! you sent me to pick up a truck in Moncks Corner and the truck was not there nor was it going to be there until Monday! You people need to get your ack together and I am not talking about the people who run the places where equipment is. I am talking about you idiots who schedule and reserve equipment for customers! You don't tell a customer to pick up a truck at a certain location and the truck is not there. Then I had to drive 20 miles in the opposite direction to pick up a truck somewhere else. You made yourselves and the entire company look like idiots and you have been doing this business for how many years now!!! UNBELIEVABLE I shouldn't even have to pay for the use of the truck. You caused me to be 3 hours late! I drove all the way from Greensboro NC to help out a friend! I have used Uhaul many times over the last 30 years and now you have the worst service I have ever experienced in my life!

I was forced to drop off herein Summerville after the place in Ladson claimed they were not a UHAUL drop off facility. Even though they were on my contract! I had to pay extra miles to take it somewhere else. NOT HAPPY.

Open on time! The business hours started at 10am on a Saturday. The business operator didn't arrive to open the store until 10:15. Her excuse was that she has grandchildren and they rule her. I am a reasonable person but 10am is late enough on moving day, its hard to justify an additional 15 minutes since we had paid moving help waiting on us.
