Requested dolly was not in cargo van. This was a 24/7 rental picked up at9pm and returned at. 3 am. I was one woman wrestling boxes without a dolly all night by myself. One small oversight for U-Haul, one backbreaking night for me. I called and reported the error, the operator promised to refund my $7.00. This made me feel so much better...NOT. The next day when the bill arrived there was a $10 charge for the dolly. If I were not so exhausted and sore I’d be livid. As it is, the memory of this hellish night will keep me and anyone who will listen from dealing with U-Haul ever again.

It should be made clear that if you select a set number of hours for your rental period, that you are then locked in to having to return the rental within that time period otherwise you will be charged for an additional days rental. I rented a van which I expected would only need for 4 hours. This resulted in having to have the van back by 2:00 pm or pay an additional $19.99. Next time I’ll be sure to select a 10 hour window to avoid and deadline for returning the rental. The price is for a full days rental so may as well. Didn’t turn out to be an issue but did add an extra element of stress to the move as we were all conscious of the time. Just something to remember for the next rental.



Trailer was not available at Manchester when promised and I checked the day before to confirm my reservation. Had to drive 47 miles to Springfield to pick up at this location. When I got here attendant had no knowledge of the terms of my reservation per the scheduling center and the Manchester clerk and tried to charge me more for a one way rental. The trailer was fine but the reservation process and the communication by UHaul between locations was terrible.

Please have all customers return vehicles with full tank. When you pick up it’s helpful to have full fuel and when you return it’s easier to fill up than it is to guestimate and try to get it back to the original amount.

They should have explained the features on the truck and advised some items to make moving easier. Especially for a first time user. Also the rates listed on the wall are lower rates than what I received.

The customer service people Couldn’t find the truck we rented. It took at least a half hours walking around the lot to find the truck. That was unexpectable. All our help was waiting around because you’re employees didn’t know where the truck was located. Not good U-Haul.

had to wait almost 10 minutes for someone to come to the counter to check out truck. Return was an awful experience. had to use drop box for key and return process on-line is very cumbersome and time consuming (45 minutes at least) when I was told you just go to the site and click return truck. Not that simple, need to create and account, wait for email with activation number, go back to site and enter that and more info. They shouldn't tell people it is easy.

I reserved my uhaul online Friday night to be picked up in Holyoke Saturday am. I showed up to Holyoke and they told me I had to get one in Springfield and said they sent me an email at 730 that morning, well the email never came thru to my phone until 9 am it was a huge inconvenience and I will never try to reserve a uhaul online ever again. The lady at the Holyoke store was not very helpful either. She just said she doesn’t know... I did express check in to cut my wait time in half and got sent to another location which more then doubled my wait time.

My entire U-Haul experience was horrible. Requested a 26ft truck the day befor moving I was notified it was not available due to U-Haul overbooking. The only thing they could offer me was a 17ft truck. Called costumer service and spoke with a supervisor who was the most rude and unprofessional person I have ever spoke to in my life. She couldn’t and would not help me and ended up plavring me on hold and never came back on the phone.

It was incredibly difficult to find the location, even using google maps because the roads around the location were very hard to navigate, also Birnie Road is one way so you had only one street which would get you there going in the right direction. Whoever thought this location was a good idea needs to seriously consider the pain and suffering the customer has to endure to get there. Also I thought the Uhaul representative at the location may have made the wrong decision with regards to the ball mount he installed, I brought two different ball mounts with me and the one he chose had a big drop which made the trailer connection very low, It hit the ground over any dips in the road and did not pull smoothly, although it improved after it was loaded. He told me all the signals were working when in fact the right turn signal was not working and I could have gotten pulled over for it.

Challenge with getting a truck and a trailer at the same location. When I made the reservation I was confirmed one location and the change in location was a mild issue having to get the truck in one location and drive 90 minutes to get the trailer was not to me the best customer service. Getting a phone call of this challenge 24 hours prior to the reserved time made the overall combination difficult and cost me gas money and time. More notice would have helped. In the end it all worked out but I do have a small bitter after taste due the hassles I had to endure to coordinate the rental. This is an overall review, not just the one trailer pick up location. All the people at the 3 locations I had to deal with to get a truck, trailer, and 3 packing items I purchased on line did their best to make the experience better but the sting comes from the poor service of the on line team. The person who called me with the challenge really did not have solutions or a customer service thought process. I had to coordinate and ask for things to make this work. The Rep. at the pick-up sight Failed to inform me that there was an overnight key drop at the drop-off sight, furthermore they gave me the truck with one quarter tank of gas so i had to get gas on the way home. The following day one of the reps at the drop off sight hung the phone up on me because i couldn't leave work right away to bring him the keys to the truck that i kept for not knowing there was a key drop.
