One problem - I called ahead to rent a small trailer and sat on hold for 15 minutes. I was finally told one trailer was left, but when I arrived to rent it, they told me it was gone as they had rented it in the 10 minutes it took me to drive to the store. Seemed a little disorganized and I was frustrated. I was able to rent a smaller trailer, but not the one I expected.

My experience getting THIS U-haul was great. However, my experience with the rental location in Wixom, MI located at 51830 Grand River Ave was horrific. My reservation was for 9am, I got an email the day before to set up an account online to make things go faster (which I did) and it also said I would have to complete a 10 minute online thing once I got there. My dad and I arrived at 8:45, only to find out the office did not open until. I tried calling about 10 times over the course of an HOUR, only to hear a voice mail message saying the box was full. We eventually find out which truck is mine after I started doing the online check-in thing, and discovered the key was on the driver's seat and the door was unlocked. Not very safe, and also confusing. (Note that it was pouring rain all morning so we didn't want to dilly dally outside too much) Now we just sit in the car waiting for an employee to show up so we can find out what is going on. finally at 9:45 an employee shows up and meets us with an angry, "We open at 10!" After explaining the entire situation to her, she went on to blame everything on us because we "should have known" that we just have to finish the online check-in and take the truck ourselves without ever speaking to an employee. Um, what? Who in their right mind would just assume that they should take a truck sitting with the key inside of it. To me, that means I will somehow get arrested for stealing a truck. (Plus- we had to speak to someone anyway to hopefully switch the registration to my dad's name instead of mine so he could bring the truck back, so we didn't want to just take the truck anyway). So now my dad and the woman are fighting back and forth and she tells us we can still take the truck as long as we have it back by 12:45. By now it is after 10- you want us to move an entire apartment's worth of junk in that little time? Not happening. She finally agrees to cancel my order (number 21644575- I still have not received a cancel confirmation, can someone please check into this and follow up with me? Thank you so much!) and we hastily call another Uhaul location to rent a 15 foot truck (not the size I wanted, but all that we could get at such short notice) and everything went smoothly with that transaction (at Pete's Hardware). I want to make it clear that Uhaul did NOTHING wrong in this entire process. All I am asking of you is to make sure that the woman a the Wixom location has some sort of follow-up so that in the future she will have a better handle on situations like this. I suggested to her that she send out an extra email to people who are renting trucks before operating hours, explicitly telling them to fill out the online check-in then take their truck with the key on the seat without speaking to anyone (instead of assuming people will just KNOW to do that). She completely ignored me when I suggested she do this, so I'm hoping she would be more willing to listen to Uhaul people. I just don't want this to happen

I had a concern about the truck smelling really bad. We were holding our breath. Somebody was using your truck for pit bull fighting or it was used by puppy mills. I know the young girl wasn’t to concerned. I knew she was young. They told me I would be charged if I didn’t clean it out. She ran out didn’t even check it. Only took the miles. Thank u
