Back in the truck or van so the next person renting it can just pull out.....Otherwise, the driver has to be careful as he/she backs out to not hit the cars next to them or go too far and hit a car pulling away from a gas pump.

Clerk was new a renting Uhaul so took a while to check out. Truck hadn't been checked beforehand because I noticed (after the fact) that contract said that gas was slightly above half a tank yet when I started the vehicle, the tank was below half so slight issue on return. I called 800 number & operator said she'd put note on account yet it didn't show when I went to return the truck.

The truck was old and beat-up. The inside still had a lot of wood chips from whomever used it prior. I had to clean it out first. As there is plenty of U-haul competition in the immediate area, I will use a different vendor next time.

During my use the vehicle's check engine light was on, the oil light flashed on and off, the battery light came on. The accelerator stuck & the vehicle was very dirty. I was not satisfied at all and when I spoke with the regional manager about the issues, he was condescending, bordered on rude and never got back to me as he said he would with a resolution. You could ensure your vehicles are clean, maintained and safe for use. You certainly should do a better job of customer service when you have a customer that experiences difficulties. I was not at all satisfied with my rental or the way I was treated.

I was charged for 102 miles when I only drove 11. It took multiple calls to customer service to get resolution.

Only thing you could do to improve is if the location were closer but that obviously will not happen and that is all good?? Just have say that Joyce made everything 100% wonderful. She showed the unit, made suggestions, offered help, answered my husbands numerous questions--everything with friendliness and openness. She is the reason that the very next day we recommended your location to someone else. Quite a keeper????

U Haul has a serious problem. Clients expect that when a unit is reserved it will be available at a certain location and time. I understand others have prior use of the vehicle but there seems to be no penalty for returning the unit on the agreed time (other than having to pay an extra day rental time...big deal). A stiff late return charge may encourage others to make more of an effort to get the unit back on time. Twice I have had friends and family show up to help me move only to have to scuttle plans due to a reserved vehicle not being available. It is obviously a problem known by UHaul since they offer the customer a chance to pay an extra fifty dollars to to offset any inconvenience. Fifty bucks I guess could help take your friends who were there to move you out to breakfast. I will be looking for another comp
