The truck was dinging and the brake light was on when we got the keys. We informed them and we were told by a younger gentleman "Oh yeah, it's been doing that for a month or so. We are just waiting for the PM to come up on it so it can get fixed. It should turn off once you get down the road a bit. The last customer didn't come back right away so it must have been fine" it dinged nearly the entire time we drove it. It did go off occasionally for a few seconds then it came right back on. It also began overheating on us as well. We only went 18 miles total so it wasn't like we drove it a ton. With all of that we were afraid to get stranded so we didn't add more gas to it. The location was good about that and didn't charge us, though we didn't use much gas either. When we returned it we told a lady and a different gentleman about it and they seemed to take it seriously and be concerned about the truck. Everything else about the experience was fine. I'd use the location again if they maintained vehicles a little better. Moving is a pain as it is so it's not good to add the stress of Moving truck maybe stranding you to it.

The parking lot looked like a junkyard for old cars. We weren't really sure if it was the right place or not. Also, we dropped the truck off at the location after hours as was agreed. We contacted the national number to let them know we dropped the truck off. I received 3 calls afterwards asking me when I was going to return the truck. Then they called and couldn't find the keys, when we dropped them into the designated drop box. Not a very organized operation.

We rented the vehicle online on a Sunday and the location was closed, the website to pick up the vehicle was not working properly, I had to call customer service and wait in the parking lot for over 30 minutes before I could pick up the U-Haul vehicle

Question: At time of this res. I explained I was renting this U Haul to move a local lady household items to Fl because she was just notified her only son has Burkitts cancer and the out look was not good. He is a retired Air Force man and is only 49 years old and I asked if U Haul would consider give any type of discount being we were just helping this family out in a bad time. I am wondering if there was any thought or consideration was given to this request. Thanks Tim Peters

When I went inside to check in. I was told that I was good to go since I had done it online. I was told I could take the U-Haul and complete the process from there. I took the U-Haul that was correspondent to me. I then received a call saying I did not complete the process correctly and that I had to return the U-Haul immediately. Luckily the lady was understanding that I was already on my way and could not return. So she was able to help me over the phone. But the guy who I first interacted gave me the wrong information and made it a confusing process. This was my first time renting a U-Haul. And will probably be my last. I will probably try a different company next time I need a moving vehicle.

The car hauler we received was awful, no brake lights and no turn signals. We were traveling at night and I was following the U-Haul truck with car hauler attached and it was beyond miserable. I could not let any vehicles between us, and I had to stay yet at a distance to be able to see the brake and turn signal lights on the truck, it was 4 hours of tension and stress...I am so upset that this damned car hauler was not checked for all this before we were allowed to pick it up...I feel some major compensation is in order... It would be beneficial if they could answer their phone. I was told the truck I rented had just been serviced.. about 8 miles out the oil light came on and the motor was ticking.. I returned to the location, it was 2 quarts low!! So a total of about 16 miles, and my time, being limited since I wanted to at least either pick up or drop off the truck in Cherokee, since I was moving from Cherokee to Ida Grove, but had to pick up and drop off in Sioux City. Not good service all the way around.. very dissatisfied.. lots of extra miles I should not have had to do!!

These people refused to rent a car hauler for a round trip. Said I had to rent it where I was picking up the vehicle. It cost me 110.00 dollars more for a one way versus a 24 hour rental.

Contract No. 89064900, I signed all the paperwork online so that it would be quick to pick up. I signed it out at 4:27 Friday night 7/14 for 24 hours like I did online for return 7/15 at 4:30 on Dace Avenue. I received a call the morning 7/15 approx. 9:30 AM that I was suppose to of had the truck back at 9:00 AM on 7/15 due to the paperwork that I signed. We were not loading until 9:00 that morning. I was pretty mad at this point and explained to him on the phone that I signed online for 24 hrs online no matter what he had me sign at the counter (which they had 2 or 3 customers waiting in line) which was not a speedy process, as it took two salesmen to get the screens figured out for my rental. The person on the phone said that someone else was suppose to get the 26' truck at 9:00 AM 7/15. So he just gave him a 20' truck. He then said that he would just let my rental slide to the afternoon like it was my fault that they did not get their paperwork straight. This made me even more mad so besides moving and trying to get the truck back to you sooner. I finished unloading and dropped off the truck approx. 3:00 pm 7/15 and then no one was at the store as it had closed at 1 or 2 PM.

Customers service was at the worst. Truck was covered with bird manure, inside wasn't cleaned in the last 6 months, nobody at the site knew how to use the computer to check customers in or out. Rude and insulting would be the best way to describe the U-haul representatives when trying to return the vehicle. Never use U-Haul again.

The woman at the front counter was EXTREMELY RUDE. Making the comment to me to go get more money and put it in my account when I was under the impression that I would be charged when I dropped the truck off and I asked her what my options were. Checking the truck in after hours was a complete nightmare. Sat for 2 hours because the app and the website was not correctly working and over 40 minutes on hold just to talk to someone to check in the truck so we could go home at 11pm. Absolutely ridiculous. I hate uhaul and I will never ever use it again. I'll pay for Penske

The trailer was not cleaned out and there was a stack of moving blankets left in an unfolded pile. I also picked up on a sunday morning and the location opened late and was disorganized.
