The trucks are kept so far down a steep hill from the office, behind a building, that doing a self serve pickup was beyond aggravating and for a 6 1/2 month pregnant woman, downright painful. I kept having to walk up and down the hill, in cold weather and strong winds, because the app gave no indiciation what what information it would be looking for in advance and where the keys would be located. The truck, while physically clean, stunk of cigarette smoke. And even the return was annoying. I understand the need for verification when using a self serve system but a heads up of the information you will be asked to provide so you aren’t going back and forth isn’t so hard to do.

I had several very long hallways to move through and placed an order a month in advance for this move with a furniture dolly, hand truck, and furniture pads. A month in advance. I show up to get the truck and am told the only thing in stock is the hand truck. No email, no heads up, no nothing. Just sorry you're SOL, with blame put on Uhaul's inventory system. You represent Uhaul!!! Then there is a furniture dolly on the floor and I ask about it, but it was for someone else and they are purchasing it. So I push back and say I need it and they can find one for this person who isn't there yet. Then I'm told it is for the owner's friend. So the attendant texts the owner and they agree to sell it to me for $20. So now I have to purchase a furniture dolly that I only needed for 4 hours max, but still no furniture pads anywhere. And some of my furniture got scuffed up because of it. There is no excuse to not have inventory on hand for an order placed a month in advance. None. Pathetic customer service and to be charged 3x the rental cost for a dolly purchase after all of THEIR MISTAKES is horrible customer service.

The road/parking area with all of the vans/trucks wasn't plowed, and it's on a pretty steep hill, so that would have been helpful. It's great that they do rentals and storage in the same location, but the storage space had a pretty strong smell that a lot of my things that were stored still have. Not sure if it's cleaning chemicals, mold or insulation/building materials.

The store is cluttered and dirty. They didn’t have enough dollies. The closed early the day of my return and closed again the next day when they were scheduled to be open. Although I returned the truck and put the key in the drop box, they attempted to charge my credit card for four days plus gas when I only have the rental six hours and merely drove the truck 1.9 miles! HORRIBLE!!!!

They charged me too much money. For only 19 dollar truck they charged me almost 200 dollar I will be going to a lawyer to see what I can do

I booked a 15' truck for 9/2/17, because a 10' was not available. I had to reschedule to 9/9/17, and a 10' was available. The online reservation showed I was still being charged the 15' mileage rate of $1.19. When I brought this to the dealer's attention he said he could not correct from his computer and I must contact Uhaul. The rate should have corrected automatically to $.99 per mile, or at the least been correctable by the dealer. This is very frustrating that I will need to jump through hoops to get my credit.

Did not have the truck size I reserved weeks in advance because prior customer was late.was offered no compensation for this issue. Smaller truck barely made the move I needed. Some items broke on move

I decided to check in and reserve the truck online and also use the fast checkout option. This suggested that all I needed was my phone. When I arrived I was asked for my license.. my credit card and then was told in was the LAW to take the protection that was suggested. I told him I have my own insurance and he stated it's the law that u take it. I told him I would not pay it and let's see if I checked no if the system would let me proceed. Low and behold.. it works! I believe this practice should be looked at closely by management. Wonder how many people were threatened by the law to take the insurance??

The lot where the trucks are kept are not properly marked . They are in a sketchy spot behind the building. I had to go back into the office to get better directions after walking down a steep hill with a heavy appliance dolly. There should be better signage.

There was only one individual working with multiple customer requests/needs. He was very responsive and helpful, but he could have used some help. In addition, the trailer hitch wiring that the Bridgeport location installed one year ago was not working when I picked up the trailer in Shelton. I had to go back to Bridgeport to get it fixed (could not be done at Shelton).

I reserves the truck at noon the day before for 8:00am pickup but when I tried using the app it said the the vehicle wasn't assigned, but after calling I did get a call right back and they walked me through getting the keys and I tried to do the online pickeup and it did work this time
